Tonight, the 24th Harbin ice and snow film festival and the 2nd Chinese Film Industry Celebration takes place in Harbin.  Famous director and superstars glitter on the red carpet.

Chinese Film Industry Celebration Awards is the Harbin city party committee, Harbin city government, China Film Critic Society organized and attracted the attention of Chinese film industry people.  Leon Lai Ming, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei, Tong Dawei, Wang Xuebing, Yuen Biao, Yuen Wah, Chopstick Brothers and others appeared.

This Ice and Snow Film Festival continues to make the "Chinese Film Industry Celebration" into the Chinese film industry's film celebration with the most modern features of industry trends.  As the nucleus activity the 2nd Chinese Film Industry Celebration this year will continue to make the entire Chinese film industry its discussion background.  According to the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's publication comprehensive film special funding office and cinema circuit receipts the previous year's Chinese film industry awards were handed out.  At the same time, special design awards were set up to encourage Chinese film industry development and promote film professionals and companies that have made outstanding contribution.

Lai Ming came to Harbin without his wife Gaile Lok.  He attended with Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) but he was just as happy.  Although Lee Chi Ting has not been in the business for too long, he already has certain recognition in music and movies.  This year he receives the event's 2011 Chinese Film Industry Outstanding Cross Over Performance Award.

Lee Chi Ting in 2009 won the Best New Performer Hong Kong Film Award and received opportunities from a variety of big time directors to get in contact with different characters.  This time he was very happy to have a chance to accept the award in Harbin.  This year he has two film releases, THE ALLURE OF TEARS (KING SING JI LUEN) and COLD WAR (HONG JIN).  Has he asked Leon for advice on how to prepare for a performance?  He picked up Leon's golden words, "Inaccuracy is the best preparation!"  He said that he remembered Leon has said that the most important thing in acting is be yourself, start with your own feelings and not too watch too many performance of other people, then you would have individuality.

In addition, the film LOVE LIFTING (GO GUI OI) yesterday held a Harbin Ice and Snow Film Festival press conference,  Director Herman Yau Lai To, leads Chapman To Man Jat and Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam attended and shared their production experience.

Just released her second new record, Joyce Cheng Yun Yi yesterday held an autograph session and performance and hosted a Christmas lighting ceremony with Santa Claus.  Recently she participated in the film COLD WAR (HONG JIN).  On the first day she saw Aaron Kwok Fu Sing.  Yun Yi said, "He smiled at me, I was so happy I could have died."  Unfortunately she had no scene with Sing Sing.  Instead she had a scene with Tony Leung Ka Fai.  Playing a cop for the first time she was excited.  "I thought wearing an uniform would be very sexy, but this film was another type of performance.  It's not the comedy that I was used to.  I tried to learn from Ka Fai, hopefully I can truly use what I learned."

Two Best Actors Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai starred new film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) yesterday held a press conference.  Yesterday was Sing Sing's birthday and the event arranged for a plane shaped cake to celebrate with him.  Sing Sing revealed that he would meet 20 friends for dinner and admitted that rumored girlfriend Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) would attend.

Kwok Fu Sing, Leung Ka Fai, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Eddie Peng Yu-yen, Chin Kar Lok and Lam Ka Tung introduced their characters.  Ka Fai said that the last time he worked with Sing Sing was THROW DOWN (YAU DOH LUNG FU BONG) years ago.  He thought that his acting was more and more stable and mature.  How will Sing Sing celebrate his birthday?  He said, "Probably dinner, with around 20 friends.  (Was Hung Doi Lam invited?)  I invited her, she should be in Hong Kong."  Speaking of Hung Doi Lam stating that she had a headache from preparing a birthday gift, he said, "Many friends all say that, actually I am already very happy about good friends having the time to meet.  It's fortune."  Sing Sing thanked his friends for already planning the celebration months ago because he could not promise to attend.  He said, "Friends said they didn't care if I couldn't come.  For example Shum Ka Wai deliberately came back from Beijing.  This birthday could be considered unexpected because I always thought I would have to work.  Luckily the team won't have a notice until tomorrow night so I have more time."

In the film playing a rival character opposite Leung Ka Fai, Sing Sing said that it will be an exciting film that battles wits, courage and ruthlessness.  He hoped to be able to create another classic after INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH).  Sing Sing also said that earlier they shot a major explosion scene that used three hydrogen bombs to create a giant fire ball.  Although the effect was dangerous but the actors on the set
were very safe.  Has Hung Doi Lam visited the set?  Sing Sing said, "I don't like friends visiting the set, I am afraid that work would be affected.  People who understand me know that I focus on work.  Even manager Siu Mei rarely appears."  As for Andy Lau Tak Wa, he had a part but did not appear yesterday.  The press release did not mention Wa Jai's name.  Sing Sing said, "For now I have to keep it confidential, Wa Jai plays a very important character.  My scenes with him earlier have already been completed."

Sing Sing joked that he grew up watching his performance, Leung Ka Fai did not mind.  "He probably saw my commercials.  In my growth process I made many commercials, if I have to count it would take awhile."
Ka Fai praised that Sing Sing's acting now has become more and more mature and called him "Heavenly King Best Actor".  Will he attend Sing Sing's birthday dinner?  He said, "When will he have time to eat with us?"  Did he feel Sing Sing and Hung Doi Lam make a good couple?  Ka Fai said, "You can tell from how solid Lynn's acting is, turning from a model to an actress.  If they are truly boyfriend and girlfriend, privately they must have very deep exchanges."

Aaron Kwok Fu Sing yesterday attended as an UNICEF Asia Pacific ambassador launched the "charity golf day" with top golf player Michelle Wie.  Lately Sing Sing has been busy with the new film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) and concert rehearsal.  Yesterday he just slept for three hours.

Sing Sing recently worked with Andy Lau Tak Wa and Tony Leung Ka Fai on his new film HONG JIN.  He said that working with Wa Jai has been very pleasant and that Wa Jai has always been very passionate about film.  Was he worried about the acting competition?  Sing Sing said that acting competition was definite, actually it was just a sparring match.  As for his role, he did not want to talk much about it because the film had more actors.  Was he worried about salary comparisons?  Sing Sing said that Hong Kong needed to be more united to make better films.  Contributing an effort to the film industry, his salary would not be different or the focus.  The chance should be the most important.

[2011.10.17] ANDY LAU, AARON KWOK, TONY LEUNG KA FAI CREATE COLD WAR

courtesy of singtao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

Edko's heavily invested police epic COLD WAR (HONG JIN) has already confirmed three Best Actors Andy Lau Tak Wa, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai and scheduled for a Hong Kong production start in October and simultaneous release next year in the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong.  The film company is determined to turn the film into the most luxurious Best Actor "city collapsing" acting battle in the past ten years of Hong Kong police film.

Lau Tak Wa said that INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) was already a battle of wit suspense classic ten years ago.  Hopefully after COLD WAR's release it will become the new symbol of Hong Kong police battle of wits films of the next ten years.  His participation this time would be a joy for him.  Kwok Fu Sing originally stopped making movies to prepare for his concert but because the COLD WAR script was too attractive he was willing to take time from his rehearsal schedule and sleep less to make it.  After completing the film he will return to the rehearsal.  The script also motivated Leung Ka Fai as he took time from his current film production to participate.  Aside from the three film big shots, new actors Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and Eddie Peng Yu-yen will also perform.  They have already worked with several big stars.  As for the film's directors Leung Lok Man and Lok Kim Ching would joint direct for
the first time but have worked behind the scene in the film industry for years.

Edko said that the script was the film's nucleus.  Although this big production's two new directors had no director experience, they have been in the Hong Kong film industry for years.  Investor Bill Kong Chi Keung said, "Hong Kong film is about the spirit of passing the torch.  Ten years ago, (Andrew) Lau Wai Keung and Mak Chong (Alan Mak Siu Fai, Felix Chong Man Keung) were only known in the industry but INFERNAL
AFFAIRS provided them an opportunity.  Now they have already become pillars of the Hong Kong film industry. Conceivably after COLD WAR, which will not only provide viewers with a class A good film but also transmit new blood to the film industry."
