Nominated for the Golden Horse Best Actress with BUDDHA MOUNTAIN, Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) lost to CITY MONKEY's Lu Liping but was not disappointed. She even sincerely wished the fresh out of the oven Best Actress Lu Liping well and thought this award was even more meaningful to Lu.

Cheung Ngai Ga said, "I have been nominated for many years already, I already have many people's recognition and admiration. (The vote count was close?) I only found out when you told me. Before the race I was very nervous, instead after the announcement I was all relaxed. Doing my job well is the most important. (Ethan Juan won Best Actor at a young age.) Not only him, we can give more opportunities to new comers!"

Best Actor Lu Liping cried out of excitement when she accepted the award on stage. She said, "In the film I played a low level hotel laundry worker, thank you Lord for giving me this character. I remember Director (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo said that I had to show my real side, no need to pretend. As long as the emotion expressed was real then it was fine. I would continue to work hard and would not be in a hurry to succeed. (You beat strong rivals Cheung Ngai Ga and Xu Fan?) I didn't think about who I beat, I am very grateful."

The 47th Golden Horse Award last night took place in Taoyuan, Taipei. This year's results were considered surprising, as first time nominee, the 28 year old Ethan Juan (Yuan King Tin) won Best Actor with MONGA. Mainland actress Lu Liping also won Best Actress with the Mainland film CITY MONKEY. Taiwan film WHEN LOVE COMES won Best Feature Film and with another Outstanding Taiwan Film of the Year award winner THE FOURTH PORTRAIT became this year's big winners. Both films received three awards. With nine nominations BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS almost went home empty handed, winning on Best Make Up & Costume Design as Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's Best Supporting Actress triple crown dream shattered.

This year's Golden Horse Award results were surprising as the pre race favorite BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS received only one award. This year also belonged to Taiwan films as they won most major awards. Both Best Actor and Best Actress were surprises as Yuen King Tin won MONGA defeated Wang Xueqi. When Siu Tin learned that he won, he was completely surprised, then he brought his good friend Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting)'s cardboard figure on stage. He joked that he had to introduce this brother to everyone. Siu Tin tearfully said that he was already very happy about the nomination as the thought that it would be great to win within 20 years. He truly did not expect to win. He thanked director Doze Niu Chen-Zer and producer Lee Lieh, his parents and grandparents for their support. Without them, he might have already left this business.

At the moment of announcement, hostess Dee Hsu (Tsui Hei Tai) did not forget to have a little fun at the expense of Siu Tin and his girlfriend Tiffany Hsu. Tiffany Hsu said that if Siu Tin won she could give him anyway. Little S asked Siu Tin if he wanted a hug and a kiss, Siu Tin joked, "Those could be done everyday at home." Tiffany Hsu laughed with embarrassment. When she learned that her boyfriend won, Tiffany Hsu covered her face and breathed a sigh of relief. Fresh out of the oven Best Actress Lu Liping was emotional when she accepted the award as tears covered her face. She not only thanked the Lord but also the Golden Horse Award jury, her husband's encouragement and their son. She also pointed out that she was 50 year old and she has not had such a holy experience in a long time. She also hoped that she would have a chance to be able to work with famous directors Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Lee Heng, Ang Lee and Kevin Chu Yen Ping in the future.

First time Golden Horse hostess Little S last night kept making fun of handsome guys. Siu Tin last year presented Best Makeup & Costume Design with Janine Chang. Little S joked that she predicted Siu Tin's nomination a long time ago and jokingly asked how Siu Tin would thank her. Siu Tin humorously responded, "I can't give you my heart, but I can give you my body." Little S was caught off guard with such a surprising answer. Little S also pretended to kiss Siu Tin and asked him why he brought girlfriend Tiffany Hsu, who giggled in embarrassment off stage.

Pre race favorite Tse Ting Fung earlier won the Hong Kong Film Award and Asia Film Festival Best Supporting Actor. Last night he lost to Taiwan film SEVEN DAYS IN HEAVEN's Wu Peng-Fon. Before presenting the Best Supporting Actor, Little S went off stage to ask Ting Fung how he would thank her for the award. Ting Fung said, "Didn't you already have Siu Tin?" Little S joked, "Siu Tin is clothed, but you......" She stared at Ting Fung who was not dressed until his suit. Later she did not spare her sister Barbie Hsu's old flame Lan Cheng-Long, who was a guest presenter. Little S asked him about Big S' wedding. Lan Cheng-Long awkwardly joked, "I think I would give her WELL WISH OF BREAK UP. I understand her pretty well, she is very brave and I am very envious of her."

Yesterday the event invited Elva Hsiao (Siu Ah Hin), Alan Tam Wing Lun and Mr. as guest performers. They performed a series of famous film songs.
