[2012.01.06] TANG WEI IS NOT USED TO WEARING A DRESS

Tang Wei in the just released film SPEED ANGELS (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) played a "tom boy" driver.  However director Jingle Ma Chor Sing pointed out that the intricate emotional scene at a wedding was much more difficult than the racing scene.

From the still, Tang Wei was dressed in white and very femininely.  She joked that she was not used to it.  "Normally the racing suits were very loose.  In the wedding scene I wore a very elegant white dress that could rival the bride's gown.  Because my character was more tomboyish, she normally wouldn't wear a dress!"

Jimmy Lin starred in SPEED ANGELS (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) and served as its racing consultant.  In one scene he drove a truck to the raceway when he was intercepted and thugs beat him up.  He successfully shook them off and with Han Jae-Suk drove the race car to the raceway just in time.  Jimmy Lin personally performed the stunt and drove fast on the highway.

Director Jingle Ma Chor Sing pointed out that Jimmy Lin was so fast that he almost could not capture him on film.  Jimmy Lin had the last say on racing technique but he and the director still had discussions.  He had more sentimental considerations.  Jimmy Lin joked that he as a professional driver was under the guidance of the director who did not have a driver's license!

The Jingle Ma Chor Sing directed inspirational women's racing film SPEED ANGELS (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) will open in Hong Kong on January 5th.  Tang Wei in the film had a touching romance with racing coach Han Jae-Suk.  Tang Wei in the film played a taxi driver who the Han Jae-Suk discovered racing coach discovered and recruited into the Chinese racing team.  Tang Wei in the opening already had a very exciting car chase that she had to demonstrate drifting in.  Racing coach Jimmy Lin said that Tang Wei was truly a ferocious driver.  When she ran into any obstacle, she stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake -- a response of a professional driver's potential.  Tang Wei pointed out that the character was like her when she was little.

In the story Han Jae-Suk trained Tang Wei into a professional driver, they grew closer but Han Jae-Suk promised "a coach could not fall in love with a driver".  Tang Wei was anxious and ran into a truck.  Han Jae-Suk rushed to the scene and took her to the hospital.  Despite of injury Tang Wei still competed.  Director Ma Chor Sing hoped that the audience would become Tang Wei and for everyone to see how she raced from last place.  In the past year, everyone had stress, laughter and tears.  He made this film for viewers to have fun and speed into the new year.

Tang Wei in the film SPEED ANGEL (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) played a taxi driver Siu Yi who loved to drive fast.  She was also very trained in kung fu as she was able to fight one against four.  She was very happy about displaying her abilities on the big screen for the first time to make up for WU XIA not fulfilling her "action actress" dream.

Tang Wei received her on screen mother Cheng Pei Pei's kung fu training.  She learned wholeheartedly and personally performed fight scenes.  Despite all the bruises and pain she was fine, she only hoped that no one would be too picky while watching.

In the film opening she had a fierce fight scene and had to use Tai Chi.  Tang Wei said that each time she was on the set, the director would change the way they fought and she would go back to learn the new style; later she realized that the director wanted to challenge her limits.  After completion she had a special sense of accomplishment.  Cheng Pei Pei also praised her, "Tang Wei has hope to become a new style heroine!"

[2011.12.25] JIMMY LIN AND CECILIA CHEUNG EXCHANGE PARENTHOOD EXPERIENCE ON THE SET

courtesy of takungpao.com

Tang Wei, Rene Liu (Lau Yeuk Ying), Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi and Jimmy Lin (Lam Chi Wing) starred racing film SPEED ANGELS (GIK CHOOK TIN SI) will be opened on December 28 in the Mainland.  The film two nights ago held its Beijing premiere, but three female leads did not appear.  Only Siu Chi and director Jingle Ma Chor Sing came in support.

Siu Chi this time was also the film's racing consultant.  He pointed out that all three lead actresses were interested in racing and praised that they had talent.

Siu Chi discovered that all three female leads had very manly side, as if gas ran into their blood.  During the shoot, Pak Chi's son Lucas often visited the set.  Siu Chi and Pak Chi would also exchange parenthood experience on the set.

Director Ma Chor Sing pointed out that Tang Wei in this film gave her first fight scene.  When she knew she had a fight scene, she was surprised because she has always played mostly dramatic scenes.  Ma Chor Sing continued, for this fight scene Tang Wei privately made a lot of preparation.  The result was also great.

Cheung Pak Chi worked with Ma Chor Sing earlier on FLY ME TO POLARIS (SING YU SUM YUEN).  Ma Chor Sing pointed out that Pak Chi at the time was like a blank slate.  He still clearly remembered at the time how he taught her how to act.  Now Pak Chi was already very mature and her eyes were different.  They seemed to contain a lot.
