The Alex Law Kai Yui directed, Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting produced film ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU) two nights ago held an appreciation banquet at Central for cinemas, Wing Lee Street neighbors and sponsored Diocesan School representatives. The film after a month in release in Hong Kong has reached 16 million. Cheung Yuen Ting expressed that she was very happy and pleasantly surprised.

Cheung Yuen Wing expressed that Wing Lee Street and the Diocesan Boy School were key locations. Did she receive complaints from shooting on Wing Lee Street? She expressed that they were very nice. At first they thought Wing Lee Street would be demolished so they were very happy for them to shoot there. She said, "The neighbors were very helpful. Sometimes they got into a shot and became extras." Did she receive any thanks from the neighbors for Wing Lee Street's preservation? She said, "It's not just me, many people participated. Many wrote to object with many voices." How should the preservation be done? She felt that the preservation should be a district in its entirety, not just one building. For example the Tsim Shau Tsui clock tower would have been very beautiful with its original train station.

Did Cheung Yuen Ting plan the next location to shoot? She said that she would not. She made movies because of their good stories. This time it was a coincidence that naturally happened. She also said that she rarely worked with the same cast and crew and did not know to make
sequels. Cheung Yuen Ting revealed that earlier at her alma mater's anniversary, many teachers came to support her new films and made her very happy. She said that although this film won the Crystal Bear prize, it was not the "biggest deal". Viewers were more meaningful than the overseas prize. Would she like to work with Chow Yun Fat again? She expressed that if she had a suitable script she would. She started her production with the script. With the upcoming Hong Kong Film Award, she has not begun to feel nervous. It would take its natural course so she had nothing to be tense about.
