Jennifer Tse Ting Ting two nights ago with BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER won the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild's New Actor silver prize. She thanked Manfred Wong (Man Jun) and director Raymond Yip Wai Man, as well as everyone for their support. She said, "This is a support. Many people have heard of my name because my entire family is in the movies. They feel I would have this gene. I am not certain that I have it or not, but definitely will work hard from a blank slate until I know how to." Ting Ting said that originally she was going to attend a celebration of a friend who will wed soon, but she had to take time to accept the award. As for her boyfriend Andy On Chi Kit and her, she said, "Since everyone ask so many times, we really have to have a serious talk." Ting Ting said that most of her friends were married with children. Earlier she borrowed her brother Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's son Lucas to attend a friend's gathering. She liked children very much and might be even crazier after having one.

Does Ting Ting's boyfriend like children? She said, "Earlier when we played with Quintus (Tse Ting Fung's second son), my boyfriend just held him up in the air. Suddenly Quintus threw up on his wrist, he was laughing and tumbling as he asked the maid to take care of him. You can imagine whether he likes children. Mommy (Deborah Li) told me to save this video."

Joyce Cheng Yun Yi two nights ago not only host the event with Barbara Wong Chun Chung and Derek Kwok Chi Kin but also performed two songs. She dedicated WITH LOVE to Sammo Hung Kam Bo who won an award. Yun Yi joked that she would recommend herself to directors for movies and said that she wanted to play a bitch. She thought that she could play very mean.

The 30th Hong Kong Film Awards will take place on April 17. Yesterday a press conference was held to announce the nominees. DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) received the most nominations with 13. Carina Lau Ka Ling was nominated for Best Actress with the film along with Tang Wei, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Josie Ho Chiu Yi and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei. On the other hand Andy Lau Tak Wa was not nominated for Best Actor with the film, but the Best Actor competition remained fierce as CONFUCIUS' Chow Yun Fat would compete with Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung.

The Hong Kong Film Award held a press conference yesterday. Attending guests included the Hong Kong Film Award Association chair Gordon Chan Ka Seung, Cheung Ka Fai, Paw Hee Ching and Dante Lam Chiu Yin. This year is the Hong Kong Film Award's 30th anniversary, the event
designed a series of special effects to open the ceremony. A light show will coordinate with firework in the shape of 30 in Victoria Harbor. This year's award ceremony received 5.98 million in film development fund sponsorships; ATV, Now TV and Hong Kong Radio 2 will broadcast the event live.

Always the center of attention, the Best Actor and Best Actress competitions continue to be fierce this year. Best Actor in particular includes nominees like CONFUCIUS' Chow Yun Fat, CROSSING HENNESSY's Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER's Tony Leung Ka Fai and STOOL PIGEON's Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Currently working
in the Mainland Gat Gor was happy and excited to learn about the nomination. Fat Gor was already nominated for Asian Film Award Best Actor with LET THE BULLETS FLY, which one was he more confident about? He honestly said it was very hard to say. He has not thought about winning an award in a long time because he has not received a Hong Kong Film Award nominations for years, but he would be happy if he would win and happy for others if he would not. Fat Gor would like to participate if he would not be in the Mainland. Speaking of CONFUCIUS, he pointed out that the character was harder to play because he had to play him from middle to old age, the dialogues were in formal Putonghua and he was a historical figure with different image and opinions in everyone's hearts. During the shoot he had a lot of pressure. He had to thank Chui Bo Chu, Yee Chung Man and Peter Pau Tak Fun for this nomination.

Cheung Ka Fai was very happy to learn about his nomination at the press conference. He said that two years ago director Dante Lee Chiu Yin did not receive a Best Director nomination with BEAST STALKER (JING YUN), which he minded a lot. This year he was very happy for the director. He pointed out that that Hong Kong Mainland film co-productions had to meet the market demand, which made maintaining personal style difficult. In recent years he attended many film festivals but as a human he would play favorites. The music of the Hong Kong Film Award was extra intimate. Speaking of his strong competition, Ka Fai said that everyone was strong. He had confidence in himself, if he said that he would win for sure then he would be too arrogant. He would already be happy for anyone from STOOL PIGEON who won, whether it would be him or Ting Fung. Earlier he was afraid that he has won before and he would not win again, but he believed the Hong Kong Film Award was fair. During the first round voting, he voted for himself and Kwai Lun-Mei for Best Actress. Teddy Robin Kwan had quite a major part in GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) but was only nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Ka Fai said that this was the film company's calculation and measurement, he thought Teddy Robin was a Lead Actor. Tse Ting Fung said that he would face it in peace because if he was too confident he would give himself pressure, which instead was not good. He thought that this was not his credit, completely because of a good director, good actors, everything together I was able to play such a good character.

In addition, Lam Chiu Yin was very happy for finally receiving a nomination. Yet earlier Ka Fai won so many awards, which already filled the void in his heart. This time STOOL PIGEON had great response and he was very happy that Ting Fung, Ka Fai and Uncle Chi were all nominated. Was he confident about the award? He joked that he was confident about walking the red carpet. When asked whether Ting Fung or Ka Fai would win, he honestly said that it was very hard to pick. The best would be dual Best Actors. Yet Ka Fai has always won so many awards earlier, giving one to Ting Fung would be good too.

[2010.12.12] AARIF RAHMAN PICKS UP DANCE STEPS OVERNIGHT

courtesy of takungpao.com

Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and Jennifer Tse Ting Ting worked together in the new film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER and built a friendship as they and the rest cast seemed to have joined a big family. Lee Chi Ting and Tse Ting Ting knew about superstar Bruce Lee since
childhood. This time through the new film they learned about Bruce Lee's wild youth.

Bruce Lee's name would always remind people of his Jeet Kuen Do and nunchukus. In the new film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER, not only could the narrative of the family from Bruce Lee's brother Robert Lee Chun Fai be seen, but also things that few knew about this superstar of a generation. Playing Bruce Lee in the film, Lee Chi Ting in order to bring this superstar's story to life not only worked out but also felt a lot of pressure. He said, "Playing Bruce Lee I initially had pressure, but our team had great team spirit. Director (Raymond) Yip Wai Man gave me confidence and shared some of the pressure with me. Finally the pressure gradually reduced. The team was like a big family, with (Tony) Leung Ka Fai who played the father teaching me which direction to act and seemingly gave me a professional actor's blueprint; (Christy) Chung Lai Tai who played the mother gave me an impression of being very pretty and elegantly sexy. After working together each time we met she would give me a very happy hug, truly like a mother with a son. Ting Ting and other actors became my good friends after working together."

Lee Chi Ting honestly said that since childhood he already knew about Bruce Lee's agility. In the new film the most memorable scenes remained action scenes. He said, "The most memorable of course was the fight scene in the rice warehouse because I had to concentrate on the fight scene and display the ferocious side. Another was the dance scene with (Angela) Gong Mi. The night before the shot I received the changes and finally I only spent a night to learn the dance steps. Everyone though the result was decent, that scene was also very memorable."

Tse Ting Ting put a lot of effort into her big screen debut. Although her role was small, she already thought it was decent. Tse Ting Ting said, "I feel having the chance to play this character in my first film is great. I also learn about the film production process and feel
like a family with the team. Everyone united on this same mission, which to me is a good start."

As for her knowledge of Bruce Lee, Tse Ting Ting since childhood already knew that he was a great fighter. Although she did not know much about Bruce Lee, she knew that Bruce Lee's spirit was never giving up and doing even better in the face of a challenge. Speaking of production highlight, Tse Ting Ting would often smile from the heart. She said that off the set she had a lot of laughs, the communications between actors, and even the fortune to enjoy Lee Chi Ting's drum and piano playing all were unforgettable memories for her.

[2010.12.09] AARIF RAHMAN HAS NO IDEA WHAT MAKES HIS CHARACTER SPECIAL

courtesy of takungpao.com

Janice Man Wing Shan and Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) yesterday attended a watch event and received new watches. Aarif's film BRUCE LEE, MY BROTHER received good reviews, which made him very happy. Bruce Lee's sister after the premiere tearfully thanked him, he was
flattered. Recently he is busy with the I LOVE HONG KONG production. In the film he and Fala Chen had the most scenes. Did he need to be funny? He said with Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Tony Leung Ka Fai he did not need to be. He also denied that he mainly had romantic scenes but in the end he could not say how his character was unique.

[2010.12.03] CARINA LAU SATISFIES HER ACTING BUG WITH FOUR DAY GUEST STARRING STINT

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Carina Lau Ka Ling, Pansy Ho Chiu King, Jennifer Tse Ting Ting, Kathy Chow Man Kei and Shawn Yue Man Lok were among the guests at the Lane Crawford party last night. Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi addressed her as Sister Ka Ling online and said that their dispute rumors promoted the new film. Reporters joked that Ka Ling had a new nickname. She joked, "I should! I am older than her, she is so much younger than me. Actually on the set she calls me that too. (Did you call her younger sister?) This business rarely calls people that. (Sister Pak Chi?) She is so much younger than me." Ka Ling also felt that the dispute rumor was a promotional gimmick, but she did not know whether it helped the film. She reiterated that she was not at odds with Pak Chi and they occasionally had contact.

She was absent from the Macau promotion because her role has been completed. As for her salary being higher than Pak Chi's, she said, "I can't talk about that, maybe it is maybe it isn't. Even if it is it's not surprising. (You were rumored to be the highest paid actor in the film?) You said it, I didn't. (Thus you were at odds?) Magazines definitely have to say that. They need big headlines, otherwise no one would buy them. (Did you ask Pak Chi?) I won't talk about others, these are business secrets." Because Ka Ling only guest starred for four days, if she was paid over 1 million a day, she would have made 6 million. She said that was impossible, but she and the investors were very satisfied with the amount. It was reasonable and decent. She also praised Raymond Wong Pak Ming for knowing what to do. Will she just guest star from now on? She said, "That's not bad! I can cure my acting bug yet I don't have to spend so much time. However with a good script and team I will make movies again."

Ting Ting starred BRUCE LEE, MY BROTHER has already been released, but she did not noticed the box office. Because she has already completed all promotions, she could not worry about anything else. Tony Leung Ka Fai also taught her to say doing her part well was enough. As for her boyfriend's review of her performance, she did not directly answer. She only said that her boyfriend knew about her production process and felt happy for her. She also revealed that at the premiere her parents kept laughing because they knew some of the characters in the film. Speaking of her father Patrick Tse Yin's courtships, Ting Ting laughed the loudest. Did she look forward to making another movie? She gave a certain nod and particularly wanted to work on an action film. She also hoped to be able to work with her family if not the entire family. She would like to work with her parents first, then with her brother because working with her brother had more pressure. She would like to show a straight take to her
brother.

[2010.11.27] AARIF RAHMAN SUFFERS INJURY FROM CLIMBING A SCAFFOLD

courtesy of takungpao.com

Already in release, the film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER's scaffolding scene near the end was the most shocking. The team built a 20 meter long scaffold and a tile roof top climb and used nearly 50 extras. Action director Chin Kar Lok kept urging everyone to be careful with every step. Any misstep would lead to a ten meter fall to the ground or severe injury from the scaffold. Thus the entire team was on a level ten alert.

In this scene Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and his buddies MC Jin and Hanjin Tan had to climb a ten meter tall building to dodge villain Wilfred Lau Ho Lung. Yet Lau arrived with a gang so they had to perform a dangerous chase on the roof. Because the roof was constructed with tiles and was unstable, Chin Kar Lok warned the actors about some areas of the roof that they absolutely should avoid.

Already injured before the shoot Lee Chi Ting paid extra attention during the shoot. Unfortunately in the end he still could not avoid aggravating the old wound, which started bleeding again. Lau Ho Lung had to jump from the ten meter high rooftop to the ground. He was very worried before hand but after several stunt coordinators' instructions he was able to finish the shot in one take.

BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER two nights ago held a screening in Causeway Bay. Attending guests included Jacqueline Chong Si Man, DaDa Lo Chung Chi and Rainbow Woo Sum Lok. Chong Si Man said that her friends earlier watched BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER at the premiere and good reviews came flooding in. She said that she liked to watch action films too. Earlier her boyfriend Deep Ng Ho Hong after watching had nothing but praise as well. Chong Si Man said, lately she has begun studying Thai kickboxing with her boyfriend. "The first practice was very tough, but I wanted to learn something." Chong Si Man said that normally she has watched her boyfriend's training but never thought about learning from him because she was afraid of getting hurt. Her boyfriend will compete in December and she definitely will attend. "I already urged him to be more careful and not to injure his face to keep from avoiding work. However sometimes accidents are inevitable.

Chong Si Man said that when she studied with Ng Ho Hong earlier she accidentally threw a low blow. She said, "After the lesson he said that he didn't wear any athletic support and said that I accidentally kicked him in the important area. He asked me to be careful." Why did she start to learn Thai kickboxing after dating for so many years? Chong Si Man said, "I at first was afraid that he would beat me up when I learn from him, but actually when he teaches, he takes a beating from the students."

Participating in the film, DaDa in the film played Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting)'s sister. She said, "In the film I am more mild mannered, at most I would only pick up a cane and beat my young brother." Formerly a young model, DaDa now is less sexy as she develops toward acting. Her
role models are Karena Lam Ka Yun and Angelica Lee Sinjie as she wants to be a successful actor.

[2010.11.23] AARIF RAHMAN HAS A BLOODY MEMORY IN EVERY SCENE

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

The film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER will be released Asia wide on the 25th. Most of the attention of course would be on whether the action scenes will be convincing. As Bruce Lee Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) trained for two months to play the role well. He who never fought was very worried and suffered injury after injury. He did not mind even when he got a nose bleed after the fight!

Lee Chi Ting recalled his first fight scene was already taking flight. His co-star was foreigner Alex. Their fight in a rice warehouse shot for nearly a week. Lee Chi Ting admired how quickly Alex picked up the steps. Instead looking back at his first fight he was truly worried that his response was not enough. Luckily after several rehearsals with Alex the result was decent. Alex was on fire and Lee Chi Ting had to put it out with his hand. This scene took several takes. The team's fire retardant lotion was almost all used up before the scene was roughly done. Lee Chi Ting said that he was lucky, otherwise he and Alex would have been roasted pig and they still would have to keep shooting! However injuries were inevitable in action scenes. Once Alex accidentally hit Lee Chi Ting and caused a nose bleed. He calmly hid and treated the wound. However MC Jin joked that he hid not because he was worried about his wound. He instead asked MC Jin whether the girls saw him get hit and made fun of him. MC Jin did not know whether to laugh or to cry, patted him on the shoulder and comforted him. "Don't worry, they know you are injured and are very worried. No one would make fun of you!" Lee Chi Ting then was at ease.

In another scene in the ring with Alex, Lee Chi Ting dislocated his arm. However due to the tight schedule he only relied on an experienced work to put it back in back. After applying ice on it he immediately returned to continue the shoot. The most severe injury was from an ordinary chase scene. Because he grabbed a sheet metal on the run he suffered a cut. He screamed, "It's bleeding!" Everyone rushed over. Luckily brother Chi Hung treated his wound. Lee Chi Ting said, his finger seemed to have split out, at the moment he felt a little faint.

[2010.11.20] CHRISTY CHUNG LOSES SHOE IN BEIJING PREMIERE

courtesy of takungpao.com

BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER yesterday held a Beijing press conference and premiere. Producer Manfred Wong (Man Jun) and director Raymond Yip Wai Man led Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Tony Leung Ka Fai, Angela Gong Mi, Jennifer Tse Ting Ting, Charles Ying Cheung Yau, Zhang
Yishan and others for an appearance. As the film's join producer, Bruce Lee's brother Robert Lee Chun Fai also attended the press conference and talked about the kung fu superstar's 70 year old legend.

The actors at the premiere showed off their talent. Lee Chun Fai said that the trailer was very fitting to the image of Bruce Lee in his heart. Speaking of Bruce Lee portrayer Lee Chi Ting, Lee Chun Fai had nothing but praise. With the film release on the way, Lee Chi Ting said that he had no box office pressure, "During the shoot I worked very hard and I received recognition from the director and Bruce Lee's family, that is enough."

Leung Ka Fai in the film played a famous Cantonese Opera actor Lee Hoi Chuen. When asked to perform Cantonese opera, he humbly said, "This time the lead is my son Bruce Lee, so I will leave the performance opportunities to him." Ka Fai also praised Lee Chi Ting's performance,
"His performance in the film is flawless, particularly in the fight scenes injuries were frequent. It was too cruel." Christy Chung Lai Tai and Ka Fai did not run into each other during the Hong Kong premiere so Christy was very happy to meet this time. She danced with Ka Fai and competed in martial art. She was so excited that when she kicked she lost her shoe. Ka Fai secretly said that if she tossed her shoe off stage many people would fight for it!

First time actress Tse Ting Ting not only was very nervous about and paid a lot of attention to this film, even her family was worried. Father Patrick Tse Yin often visited the set. During the Hong Kong premiere her boyfriend and parents were present and gave her a shot of confidence. Yet she still was very nervous during the screening and even squeezed her boyfriend's arm hard. She said, "I was afraid that I would shatter his arm!" Lee Chi Ting said, "Your boyfriend's arm can't be shattered!"

She said, "At first I truly was very worried, luckily Lee Chi Ting was great and very quickly brought me into character." Lee Chi Ting said that Bruce Lee cared very much about the people he loved. Thus when he performed he would be very tense when he saw Ting Ting. Off camera though they were like brothers.

[2010.11.12] CHRISTY CHUNG IS CONVINCING AS BRUCE LEE'S MOTHER

courtesy of takungpao.com

Yesterday Bruce Lee's family including sisters Lee Chau Yuen, Lee Chau Fung and brother Robert Lee Chun Fai attended an autograph session of Lee Chun Fai's Bruce Lee biography. Christy Chung Lai Tai who also played Bruce Lee's mother in the film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER also promoted.

Lee Chau Yuen said that when they were little and had ice cream, Bruce Lee dropped his ice cream and immediately wanted hers. She made a face at him. His other sister also said that Bruce Lee was a prank expert at home, specializing in telling jokes to cheer others up. Lee Chun Fai also praised Manfred Wong (Man Jun)'s unique insight because the characters and sets in the film were very real. Every time they visited the set they would be moved to tears.

Chung Lai Tai said that this was her first mother role. She said, "Actually when I was approached with the role I just had my third daughter for a few months, I still haven't returned to form yet. So I thought I was very suitable to play a mother. I even asked if I had any fight scene. They said I would but only as discipline for the children." Chung Lai Tai also said that the production was during the summer vacation so her daughters visited the set. She also said that they had a lot of fun with the child stars in the film. Chung Lai Tai also said that she has not made a film in six years, thus she was very excited about attending the premiere. Would she permit her daughters to join the business? She answered, "My second daughter is very strong in impersonation. If she will want to join the business in the future, I will support her."

[2010.11.06] NO ONE UNDERSTANDS CHRISTY CHUNG'S LINES

courtesy of takungpao.com

BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER (LEI SIU LUNG) will be released nation wide on November 25. In the film Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) played Bruce Lee, while Tony Leung Ka Fai and Christy Chung Lai Tai played Bruce Lee's parents.

Because Bruce Lee's mother Ho Oi Yu had mixed heritage, the role had to be Chung Lai Tai. Chung Lai Tai felt very excited to be able to make another film but her Cantonese has worsen and memorizing lines was very difficult. Sometimes she would deliver a pile of lines and thought that she was very successful, but no one on the set understood what she was saying. However she was very lucky to play a couple with Ka Fai because Ka Fai was a very attentive "husband" and took great care of her. He was more gentle off camera than on camera. Christy felt that he absolutely was 100% model good husband.

Ka Fai said that when he found out about the character, he immediately agreed because he thought being able to play Bruce Lee's father Lee Hoi Chuen was his honor. Lee Chi Ting even continuously praised Ka Fai for helping him a lot. Due to his lack of experience, he was worried that he would embarrass himself in front of this Best Actor. However after working together, whenever he came up short Ka Fai would advise him with a lot of attention and did not blame him once. He was very touched and never imagined the big actor would have no arrogance at
all.

In one scene the Lee family was very cheerful during the New Year, as many film stars came to play mahjong at the Lee home. Cheung Tat Ming (as Fung Fung), Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui (as Ko Lo Chuen), Candy Yu On On (as Mrs. Cho Tat Wa), Kristy Yang Kung Yu (as Mui Kei) and others guest starred. Producer Manfred Wong (Man Jun) even permitted his own daughter
to play the child star Petrina Fung Bo Bo. They were all salutes to the 50s Hong Kong film industry.

Jennifer Tse Ting Ting yesterday guest modeled at a hair show with famous hairstylist Kim Robinson. Tse Ting Ting took place in the film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER (LEI SIU LUNG). She honestly said that at first she was very nervous and had a lot of stress. Often she looked for opportunities to practice her steps. She ate very little normally. This time with the nonstop dance rehearsals she got dizzy. Luckily the result was convincing.

Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) as Bruce Lee not only had to study Wing Chun and kung fu for two months but also had to practice the Cha Cha, so Bruce Lee fans around the world would not scold him. The team hired dance instructor Wong Yui to teach dance. Lee Chi Ting and Tse Ting Ting had no dance background. Luckily they picked it up very quickly. Bruce Lee's brother Robert Lee Chun Fai recalled Bruce Lee had more than one woman who would like to dance with him, but in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding Bruce Lee decided not to choose any woman to be a dance companion. He chose his brother Lee Chun Fai.

The film will also explain in detail Bruce Lee and Little Kirin (MC Jin)'s friendship, their frequent trouble making with Skinny (Hanjin Chen) and Lau Nin Kwong (Zhang Yishan) all over the place as they came up with their own banner "Dragon City Four Tigers". Something that surprised him and was incredible to him was that Bruce Lee did not know how to ride a bicycle until he was 17, which was a small secret of Bruce Lee.

I am so sorry. I was really into the singing and didn't know I was off key. Actually I had time to practice, maybe it had something to do with lacking sleep." He revealed that BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER will wrap in a week. He also suffered injuries during the shoot. He said, "Aside from many bad takes, I took a shot from a co-star and got a nosebleed.
