Fiona Sit Hoi Kei recently caught the flu and even spread it on the set.  Later she will have to record and prepare for her July Hong Kong Coliseum concert.  Although she has been busy, her mother knew how tough she had it.  Despite rarely going to the kitchen she still made soup and fried rice for her.

Earlier Jackie Chan publicly said that his son Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming)'s acting was not mature enough.  Sit Hoi Kei pointed out that many friends inside and outside the industry thought Cho Ming should have received a Best Actor nomination with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI).  Even the on screen mother Candy Yu On ON praised his acting.  Did she comfort Cho Ming?  She said that she would not mention news that was not good or not real too much.  Cho Ming would only approach her if he had something that he wanted to talk about, normally he would talk more about happier matter.  Have she and Cho Ming had less contact after break up?  Sit Hoi Kei said that they neither dated nor broke up.  Sit Hoi Kei joked that both Cho Ming and Khalil Fong Datong were his good friends.

[2011.06.19] FIONA SIT: TEARS OF 2 YOUNG

Chapman To Man Jat has a way with picking women, you can tell from his choice of wife and lead actress. This time To Man Jat is invited to choose three rising lead actresses in the film industry to interview. In the first installment is Fiona Sit Hoi Kei. To Man Jat even touches the deepest part of Fiona's heart and leaves her sobbing. She reveals that she once considers mutilating herself. Luckily she receives guidance from God and she is able to leave the darkness!

Fiona Sit is full of emotions, during the interview she laughs and cries. She is so honest, which is what makes people like her.

T: To Man Jat, S: Sit Hoi Kei

T: Fiona do you have attention deficit disorder?

S: I am very extreme. Either I can't concentrate or I can be very focused, like when I am acting a scene or drawing, singing I would be very focused. Nothing that happens outside can affect me.

T: The last time I worked with you, I discovered your symptom. You would sit there and start to think about something else, when you had to think about something else you would think about another. When the director yelled action you would be focused again until the director yelled cut. Then you would think again. Actually I really wanted the director not to yell cut, then you could keep being normal.

S: Ha, then you are saying that only during action I am normal? I am not like that.

T: 7 years ago why did you get into the business?

S: When I was studying my third year at City University, someone asked me to model. Later I realized that spending my own money was great, so I kept working. Then someone else asked me to audition and I got into the business.

T: Oh, actually you are the first generation young model!

S: Not really, my uncle has always worked in show business. I liked to sing a lot, but if I asked Uncle to bring me into the business, I worried that he would feel I wanted to become a star. So I never asked him until someone asked me to audition, then I asked Uncle for his opinion. He said
that if I liked to, I might as well work with someone I knew. I joined Warner like that and worked for seven years.

Chapman To's first interview already successfully "shoots" Fiona Sit into a tearful revelation.

Criticizing Her Own Acting As Not Good Enough

T: When did you realize you like to act?

S: My first movie was 2 YOUNG (JO SHOOK). I am always very appreciative of (Derek) Yee Tung Sing. My first contact with acting with THE ACADEMY (HOK GAING HUNG SUM), the series was hit but I wasn't. I felt that I did 30 episodes, all of which were very poor!

T: What is considered poor?

S: Unrealistic, it's just bad. If a director wanted to find a film lead actress, no matter what he or she would watch this series. If he or she still approached me after watching it, I truly have to say a sincere thank you!

T: I think he didn't see it, he is very instinctive with his casting.

S: I remember when I first met Yee Tung Sing. At the time I was 22 or 23. I wore a men's tee shirt, sun hat and flip flops. Later the director told me, everyone who met with him respected him, only I dressed like that. He was thinking, "What's your deal!"

T: So far which movie do you feel you perform the best in?

S: I like both 2 YOUNG and BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) very much. Watching 2 YOUNG agai, I feel my eyes were very innocent back then. During the shoot I had nothing on my mind. It was the most special movie in my life.

T: Both movies are with Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming). Wong Cho Nam said that when he worked with you in LA COMEDIE HUMAINE (YUN GAN HEI KET) you just pretended to kiss, but you didn't need to for the kiss scene with Fong Cho Ming!

S: What, Wong Cho Nam and I absolutely didn't pretend. At the time his lips were even chapped.

2 YOUNG

Best Matched with Jaycee Chan

T: if you have to die now, what of your movie would you like to watch again?

S: I want to watch 2 YOUNG again.

T: Do you consider Fong Cho Ming the Best Matched lead actor in your film career?

S: Yes, ultimately I haven't worked with too many actors. Like Dylan Kuo (Kwok Bun Chiu) in EMBRACE YOUR SHADOW (JI OI), at the time we were already great if we could communicate because I didn't understand Mandarin at all. Now I am OK.

T: Lately you constantly go to the Mainland to work on television series, are you used it?

S: A little, I have been to very antiquated places without nothing to make series, even for microblogging I had to go to certain places to get online. I had to sew and put away my own clothes, sometimes bugs would ruin the clothes, the room had scorpions.....for a piece of fried chicken I had to take a two to three hour car ride! However such encounters make me understand that sometimes I would be unhappy if I have too much, but when you don't have anything, giving you a little can make you very happy.

THE ACADEMY

LA COMEDIE HUMAINE

After the interview, "To Sit" check out the photos with Mrs. Chapman To, Krystal Tin. The process is pleasant.

Fiona Sit has worked with Chapman To on a movie before, so their every move is full of chemistry.

All Because of "Thou"

T: I remember when you made LA COMEDIE HUMAINE, you looked very unhappy. The director said that you were brewing your emotions. Were you?

S: That was the lowest point of my life!

T: I feel at the time you were a little depressed, but strangely you developed pretty well, what wasn't going your way?

S: I am not talking about a career low point, but the lowest point in life. Since childhood I am not used to talking with others, for example heartbreaks and pet deaths would make people unhappy, but many felt that my career was very smooth so I should be happy. So I accumulated all the unhappy stuff until one day I suddenly exploded, that period (when she made LA COMEDIE HUMAINE) was long, I was unhappy for over two years."

T: I have been unhappy before as well, every morning when I woke up I would ask myself why did I have to wake up.

S: I remember at the time one scene had to be shot on tram tracks. At the time a tram was approaching, I thought if I lay down and got run over, I didn't need to be down anymore; but then I thought, I still wanted to make movies and sing, I had a lot of stuff that I love I couldn't let go, I couldn't give up on myself!

T: How did you finally get over this?

S: Most primarily all because of God. At the time I couldn't sleep or eat for a long time, my weight dropped by a dozen or pounds. Later I went to some classes, half were about God and half were about self help. People are unhappy because of other people, so the course taught me to pray, to make myself forgive, actually the hardest person to forgive was myself.

T: Seeking help from God proves that life still has hope. N0w what would
make you the happiest?

Fiona Sit jokes that she looks like a "patient" when posing for this photo, secretly telling the enormous emotional pressure that she is under
courtesy of on.cc

Sit Hoi Kei then started to cry, harder and harder. After some time when she was calmer she was able to continue.

S: (crying) everything! Now everything can make me very happy, like now after the interview, when I get home and see Mama I would be very happy. As long as I have experienced the lowest, after that anything could make you feel happy. Earlier when I went to work on a series in the Mainland, I was so sick that I couldn't even walk. I worked until 11PM one night and went straight to the hospital. After the blood test the team informed me that the next morning I had to start work at 9AM......the next day on my ride to the set, in the car I was under a blanket and listening to music. In my music I was thankful for everything I had, and I was very happy to see the pretty scenery along the way.

T: When you have so much, you would forget gradually that actually you only need very little. I used to be very happy if I was able to pay the rent because at the time I couldn't pay it for a long time.

S: I used to feel that a lot of things were very tough, but as long as I sat down and thought, actually I was a lucky one. I had a good television series offer, decent money, with a conscience I shouldn't complain. Some unhappy experience is the biggest gift in your life.

T: I have a very rich Mainland friend. He wanted to immigrate to Hong Kong so he invested 10 million on a place. I asked him why, he said the Special Administrative Region passport made going overseas very convenient. Hong Kong's education and medicine are better than the
Mainland too. I have lived 38 years, I never would have guessed that a Special Administrative Region passport would be worth 10 million! Everyone has their own joy, we just never look for it!

[2011.04.04] FIONA SIT IS WILLING TO SPLIT THE AWARD WITH JAYCEE CHAN

courtesy of takungpao.com

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and director Barbara Wong Chun Chun earlier appeared on Cable Entertainment News program with Albert Au Wing Kuen and Cheng Man. Sit Hoi Kei dissected her on and off screen relationship with Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming). She revealed that they argued everyday. On the program she thanked the director, the producer and Fong Cho Ming in advance. Wong Chun Chun also stated that she was interested in a sequel with both.

Sit Hoi Kei with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) has been nominated for the Best Actress Hong Kong Film award. Albert asked whether Fiona was confident about winning. Fiona lightly said, "I wouldn't think too much, as soon as I do I would get nervous. I should enjoy that process." Wong Chun Chun said, "Actually I treat the nomination like I already won." Fiona on the program gave a preview of her thank you speech. She said that this film was her personal turning point. She not only thanked the director and the producer for giving her a chance, but also particularly mentioned that she thought Fong Cho Ming deserved a nomination. "If I won, I definitely would saw the award in half to give to Fong Cho Ming. I imagined if another actor played this character, no one else would be able to create this type of spark with me. So I was very disappointed about his lack of nomination too." Fiona revealed that when she and Fong Cho Ming were together, 9 out of 10 minutes they were arguing. "Fong Cho Ming said that arguing was an art, I disagreed. He said, 'This is art!'" Fiona also denied that she was dating Cho Ming.

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Yet she revealed that she will have to return to work in Beijing on another new series. She should be making a boatload. She said, "You can't say that. I am working on another Mainland series because I can work with many local actors there and learn from them. However this time I stipulated a few days off every month so I will be able to return to Hong Kong to promote new songs." Although she already expected the Beijing Hong Kong commute to be difficult, she still felt it would be worth it. She reiterated that she absolutely would not giving up her singing career. Josie Ho Chiu Yi with DREAM HOME received a Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress nomination. She was at father Stanley Ho Hung Sun's home when she received the news. She immediately gave the good news to Mr. Ho and told her old man "I did it". The Gambling King although had lawsuits with his second and third families, he was still very happy for his daughter. He even said to Chiu Yi, "I really want to see you succeed." Mr. Ho even encouraged Chiu Yi to continue to work hard on her acting and make good movies.

Chiu Yi also thanked her father, sister and family for their trust, for this film to be able to be completed. Chiu Yi pointed out that this film earlier participated in many European film festivals, received nominations and won awards, but she was the happiest about receiving the
nomination in Hong Kong because this was a good Hong Kong film. Was she confident about winning? Chiu Yi said at first she knew the competition would be very strong, but earlier she won Best Actress and special effect awards in Spain. Now her confidence was stronger. Chiu Yi said that she would like to thank the director the most. Each team of this fil was hand picked, but they needed a director to lead them in order to be able to show their new side.

Carina Lau Ka Ling in DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) did not have a large role but she received a Best Actress nomination. Ka Ling said, "Don't scare me like this?" Ka Ling said that she was very happy about the nomination because this production was very tough. This character's look was unique, the head dress was very heavy. During the shoot she constantly had to rest. The nomination was worth all the hardship. As for confidence, she said that she already treated the nomination as a victory. She was also happy for the film's 13 nominations.

Tang Wei was nominated with CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI). She was promoting LATE AUTUMN in Korea. When she received the news she was surprised. Currently working in Beijing, Fiona Sit Hoi Kei screamed when she learned about her BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) nomination. [2011.01.23] HONG KONG FILM CRITIC ASSOCIATION SELECTS TOP TEN CHINESE FILMS

courtesy of singtao.com

The Hong Kong Film Critic Association yesterday announced the 2010 China Hong Kong Taiwan film critic alliance's top ten Chinese and foreign films". Due to the gradually closer relationship between the three lands on both sides of the strait, the selected films or "nominated" films were films that are the most worth recommended to the general audience of all three places. Thus the selection method will no longer be decided by the film's commercial achievement but by film critic's review and evaluation of the film. The order was based on the scores that each organization provided to make the results even more representative. The most important point is the event hoped to display the different results from the three places and not the overall results. Due to films of the three locations have their own merits and the points of view are not completely identical, the timing for a Best Picture for all three places is not arrived yet. Thus the event hoped viewers would start with the chance to watch the recommended films of the three places, gradually expanding to mutual understanding and admiration. One day will come when a Best Picture for all three places will be chosen.

The Hong Kong Film Critic Association 2010 Top Ten Chinese Films in order are MERRY GO ROUND (DUNG FUNG BOR), DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAMES (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK), LOVE IN A PUFF (JI MING YU CHUN GIU), UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE, BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI), STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN), AFTER SHOCK, REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU), GALLANTS (DAI LUI TOI) and MONGA. Among foreign films were INCEPTION, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, CONFESSIONS, and THE HURT LOCKER.

The Hong Kong Performing Artist Guild last night held a Hong Kong Performing Artist Guild 17th anniversary party. At the event the first Performing Artist 2010 Outstanding Performance Award was held as the Guild selected the most outstanding male and female artists in film, television, radio and music. Moses Chan Ho and Charmaine Sheh Si Man won television actor and actress awards, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei won the film actor and actress awards, outstanding performance male and female singer were Eason Chan Yik Shun and Sammi Cheng Sau Man. Outstanding performance hosts were Jan Lamb Hoi Fung and Cha Siu Yan. This year's awards were selected by 30 industry professionals through two rounds of voting. 3D Gold sponsored the awards.

Last night the event theme was a wedding banquet. Artists all wore bride and groom badges and even Chinese and Western costumes. Eric Tsang Chi Wai last night appeared in a gold suit. Why was the theme a wedding banquet? He said that because he felt it was more fun, even strangers could pose for wedding photos. In addition some might never pose for wedding photos for their lives so they could take the chance and have a little fun. Chi Wai also said that the Guild in the past had Golden Rod Awards to encourage new comers, but this award was created to encourage people in the other areas as well. Without audience voting and purely based on the votes of several judges, was he worried that it would become a small circle vote? Chi Wai said it would not because they had over ten people in the discussion. DJ members voted for outstanding singers, singers voted for outstanding DJs. Later the Guild even planned to create a media selected award and stage drama awards, and non members would be eligible for them.

Last night's event had 45 tables that cost either 50,000, 30,000 or 20,000. The tables alone brought in 700,000. After the venue rental of 400,000, little was left. However the goal was for everyone to get together. Over 100 artists attended and guests like the officials from the Central Government Liaison Office, the Broadcast Authority and Legislative Council. Chi Wai joked that this year many officials were invited because in the past officials were often seen at disasters. He hoped that through this opportunity officials would have more understanding of this Guild and know that the Guild could do a lot more. For example in the future they hoped to set up a performing art school, short term courses and industry insider forums and for Tony Leung Chiu Wai, John Woo (Ng Yu Sum), Anthony Wong Chau Sun and others to be speakers. Last the guest performers were Alan Tam Wing Lun, Mr. and a group of music new comers. Alan seemed to have injured his neck and lost his voice, Chi Wai said that he had no idea. Chi Wai was asked to sing for Alan, he joked, "No, that would 'ruin' his life."

Winning the film actress award with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI), Sit Hoi Kei said that she did not know that she would receive an award. When she learned that she beat out Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Wai Ying Hung, she said, "I feel I didn't beat them. Because I am younger, I believe the jury only wants to give me a chance. In terms of acting they definitely are better, I wouldn't have a chance because I am still inexperienced. However this award gives me a mission, from now on I have to be humble. I believe the jury wants to encourage new comers to do a little better, because as soon as we get arrogant we don't do well." Actually earlier she has already won a Best Actress award in Vietnam with the film. Yet the film's lead actor Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) was not even nominated. Did Cho Ming not perform well? She said, "Actually I have to thank Cho Ming. Half of the earlier award also belongs to him, because if another guy plays the role I wouldn't have such a performance. In real life we are good friends, we have chemistry. A lot of the dialogue were improvised on the spot. Cho Ming was very creative. (Would you give him a thank you kiss?) I think he doesn't want me to kiss him! As for gifts he has everything. Maybe I will send a card. (Would you wrap yourself up as a gift to give to him?) I guess he wouldn't want that either!"

As for outstanding singer award winner Chan Yik Shun, he said that he attended as the vice president and he did not know that he had an award. "I am very happy about the award, thank you very much! Because the jury consists of industry people, it proves everyone's recognition of
me. Now I will try to write more songs that have positive influence on the society." He also said that if he knew that the event theme was a wedding banquet, he would have appeared with his veil from the concert.

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and Sam Lee Chan Sam yesterday attended an athletic brand event. Recently Fiona with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) won the Vietnam Film Festival Best Actress. Finally she rolled around for hours in bed before falling asleep. Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) also sent her a congratulation text message but she said she has not celebrated yet. The
company co-workers have already asked her to take them to dinner.
