The fresh out of the oven Best Actress Carina Lau Ka Ling, Han Geng, Zhao Wenzhou, Godfrey Gao, William Chan Wai Ting and Yumiko Cheng Hei Yi two nights ago attended a GQ Style party.

Ka Ling appeared with bunny ears. The media congratulated her on her Best Actress and made her very happy. When asked whether her perfect man was Tony Leung Chiu Wai, she said, "Men are perfect, but men's tenderness for women is a particularly chauvinistic expression. We are all flawed, but while we accept each other's positive points we also accept the other's flaw. We are very compatible." If she had to choose between the Hong Kong Film Award or having a child, how would she choose? She smartly said, "I would choose my husband Leung Chiu Wai."

Han Geng's current commercial value reportedly already exceeded Sun Honglei and Vicki Zhao Wei. Han Geng humbly said that both were elders and said that the reported numbers were somewhat false.

Super Junior M earlier performed in Shanghai and the organizers asked the media not to involved former member Han Geng during its coverage. Han Geng said that he and the group still had a very deep relationship, and he was very appreciative of his former company's nurturing. He also said that he was much happier with his solo development as he did not have as much pressure. His film MY KINGDOM will open in August. In the future he will keep making movies. He would like the most to play a character that was drastically different from his own image and personality.

The Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Andy On Chi Kit starred THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN WON CHEUNG) two nights ago held its premiere. Yen Chi Tan along with his wife Cissy Wang, On Chi Kit, Jennifer Tse Ting Ting were among the attendees.

Cissy Wang earlier celebrated her birthday. Chi Tan would like to spend more time with his family and his wife. Chi Tan said, "Last year due to work, I lacked time to be with my family. Presents and money are frivolous, being with the family more is important." Chi Tan said that for LOST, the hardest was not working with Jiang Wen but handling the directors' strict demands. Every word had to be accurate and flawless. As for rumors that Jackie Chan was the original choice to play the title role, Yen Chi Tan joked, "Maybe directors Mak Siu Fai and Chong Man Keung said that when they were drunk!" Yen Chi Tan stated that when investors asked him to perform, he suggested Mak Siu Fai and Chong Man Fai to direct and Jiang Wen to play Cao Cao because Jiang Wen had the aura. Yen Chi Tan said, "Jiang Wen is a great actor. Our scenes together were very difficult and I benefited a lot from them."

Tse Ting Fing came to support her boyfriend On Chi Kit. Ting Ting knew that her boyfriend gave a lot to this film. "During the shoot he kept calling me, saying that he was very happy to work with Chi Tan and admire Chi Tan's professionalism." The host included Cissy Wang as Chi Tan's wife, then Chi Tan joked that Ting Ting appeared as On Chi Kit's "wife". On Chi Kit only chuckled. Ting Ting while wiping the sweat off her boyfriend joked that On Chi Kit laughed like Carina Lau Ka Ling when she won the award. As for their wedding, On Chi Kit said, "Now it's like we are married, the only thing missing is a party." They were very close, but Ting Ting stressed that she would not be married secretly like her brother Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. She said, "No, we would share with everyone. We have been dating for a long time. Friends always ask us when we will wed, I am afraid of disappointing them."

Tse Ting Fung won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. Ting Ting said that she still has not celebrated with her brother yet. However On Chi Kit celebrated with her brother everyday as they played games online. On the day of the award, Ting Ting watched the show on television. She said, "When I heard Tse Ting Fung's name, I have never been so excited. I was screaming at the television." Tse Ting Fung looked very chok when he won. Ting Ting said, "At the time I paid too much attention at the result. When I watched it on television I didn't feel it. Later when I saw it online he really was rather chok. He imitated how Papa Tse Yin stands and had Papa's style. Papa truly is the chok look forefather." Ting Ting said that she ran into Papa at Central. When he walked he looked like he was on the catwalk. They both had their own style and chok their looks with so much effort 365 days a year.

[2011.04.24] GALLANTS NEGOTIATES ITS SECOND RELEASE

courtesy of takungpao.com

The film GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) just won four awards at the 30th Hong Kong Film Award, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Music. Immediately it led to an enormous response in the Mainland. Earlier the film's producer Lam Ka Tung led the directors Derek Kwok Chi Kin and Clement Cheng Si Kit, and actors Teddy Robin Kwan, Susan Shaw Yam Yam and Leung Siu Lung to promote in Shenzhen. According to Ka Tung, their Shenzhen visit was very well received. Many Mainland fans performed madly. They have already completely digested the film. Thus when Teddy Robin and Shaw Yam Yam appeared, fans were calling them by their character names. They even memorized the lines from the film, the response was surprisingly good. Thus they are in negotiation to release the film again in the Mainland and Hong Kong within the month to follow the Hong Kong Film Award momentum. Ka Tung said, "We never thought that the second release would have great box office, we just want to express our sincerity." In addition, the film will also release a box set of memorabilia and figures to assist with the promotion.

[2011.04.24] CARINA LAU IS "IN LINE" FOR A CHILD

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Carina Lau Ka Ling two nights ago attended a certain international handbag label event. It was also Ka Ling's first appearance in Shanghai since her Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress victory. After waiting for years to win, she appeared to be very calm at the award show and did not behave particularly excited. Ka Ling said that this award was bonus. She truly was very pleased as her effort was recognized. Was this award her career peak? Ka Ling reiterated that it was a bonus. She said that her career has always been very successful. Now she finally won Best Actress, what more could she ask for? Lau Ka Ling shook her head. She said success in life could come in many varieties, career was just one. The most important was to live, to live success came first.

On the day on the award, Ka Ling after accepted the award was crowned "the calmest Best Actress in history" for her "laughing at the heaven" look. She denied that she was calm, as she was not 100% confident. As for suspicion that the role of Wu Zetian was not big enough for the Best Actress title, she said that a character's tension was not determined in the amount of time in the film but in the strength of the character. She thought that her performance of this character had quite an aura. Of course this was not her most satisfied character. Ka Ling wanted to win with DAYS OF BEING WILD (AH FEI JING JUEN) the most. Ka Ling graciously said, "Right! Back then when I wanted to win the most they didn't give it to me. However that is already in the past. That stage of my life to me has already gradually faded."

At the event each client could engrave any alphabets or numbers that they wanted on their bags. Lau Ka Ling asked for TLC, "Tony Loves Carina". Speaking of her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Ka Ling said that Wai Jai has always been very supportive of her and cheered for her. That night after she took the award home, she put Leung Chiu Wai's dozen or so awards to the sides while she put hers in the center. Then she took a photo. Finally she wanted to give the award to her mother to thank her for taking caring of her and supporting her over the years. Did she have any more wish? She said that everything is already in the past. The Hong Kong Film Award is already history. People should look toward tomorrow. In the future she will keep working hard and live. Was her next goal having a baby? She said, "I actually never said that I didn't want one! Even without the Hong Kong Film Award I have always wanted to be a mother, it's just that I am still 'waiting in line'."

[2011.04.21] WANG ZHENG SUPPORTS ATV'S EFFORT AGAINST TVB

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

ATV's Sunday broadcast of the Hong Kong Film Award only had an average rating of 7 points, but ATV did not accept the rating result and even accused someone "falsified" results against ATV. Later TVB along with CSM Media Research and the Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong issued a joint statement that expressed deep regret over ATV's "false" accusations. All three organizations would reserve all rights to take action. TVB even revealed that it will issue a legal letter to ATV with CSM Media Research to demand justice from ATV and to cease using the term "falsify" again, and cited that ATV's action seemed to be those of a sore loser.

ATV yesterday held a press conference at its headquarter. ATV key investor and CEO, senior vice president Kwong Hoi Yan and other executives attended. The Hong Kong Film Award Association board member Leung Lee Siu Ha also came in support.

At the press conference, ATV issued a statement about the Hong Kong Film Award's initial rating numbers and the Mainland rating falsification information. Kwong Hoi Ying first said that yesterday was Black Wednesday because they received news that someone wanted to sue them due to their harmful questions. Kwong Hoi Ying said, "I feel it's pretty serious, saying something that is unfair would actually mean oppression in return. ATV's symbol is orange and red, but the venue may turn gray, actually something cannot be said." Kwong Hoi Yan then read the statement that CSM Media Research in rating survey had a record of improper means. ATV suspected the credibility of the rating provided and thought that ATV's phone survey was a mature and viable investigation method. By a conservative estimate, CSM Media Research's survey created hundreds of millions in losses for ATV. ATV also would like the Broadcast Authority not only investigate TVB monopoly but also the false rating issue. However over the accuracy of the hundreds of millions advertising loss, Kwong Hoi Yan said that ATV was not a public company and only needed to report its numbers to the authority. It also said that CSM Media Research was involved in false rating reports in the Mainland. Thus it had reservations about the company's survey.

ATV's self conducted rating had 2.3 million while TVB's rating only had 400,000. He only said that he had no idea where the difference in numbers came from, but he believed that the Hong Kong Film Award is an entertaining program. Instead he asked reporters whether they believed it only had 400,000 viewers. As for TVB's claim that they were sore losers, Kwong Hoi Ying stressed that back then MY FAIR PRINCESS and WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE were both CSM research. However after changing companies they have not won again. They stressed that they were not sore losers. He said, "Before the contract ended we grin and bear it. After the contract ended last year, we found another research company. We only surveyed ATV program, but whenever we had new programs, the other station would say that our rating was low. We absolutely are not sore losers!"

Wang Zheng was curious why a television station would be willing to pay for ATV rating survey, but each time the result was not good. He pointed out that the rating was life and death for the other station because advertising revenue was built on rating. He thought that ATV programs were not bad. If the survey had research value, ATV's fate in recent years would not be as such. Yesterday he would not stand by ATV. Wang Zheng also said that he appreciated Jackie Chan's anti mob parade years ago, ATV also had to conduct an anti mob movement in the media and advertising world. He stated that ATV management has already been on a road of no return, which he was deeply appreciative. He said, "ATV is no lamb. It has to stand up. As an investor, I would fully support it." Then he bowed twice to Kwong Hoi Ying and others. The ASIA MILLION STAR singers began to perform HEART OF A VAGABOND. Wang Zheng also distributed conscience USB thumb drives.

TVB said that since 1992 in the past 20 years TVB and ATV have always participated in the same rating survey format. ATV under this format has also recorded high rating like HONG KONG TODAY, MY FAIR PRINCESS and MILLIONAIRE. ATV back then recognized the results, which proved this format worked. Yet starting at the end of last year ATV began to slide in rating and denied this format that has been used for almost 20 years. It is truly under suspicion of being "sore losers". As for the "antitrust" issue, Hong Kong has a process and a system to handle it. ATV can follow the process and issue the complaint. TVB would make arrangements once the authorities notified it. In addition, Leung Lee Siu Ha said that she was very satisfied with ATV's full broadcast of the Hong Kong Film Award and questioned TVB's announced rating result. Will ATV broadcast the Hong Kong Film Award again next year? She said that they need to vote on broadcast right and next year the board will change. She joked that she did not know whether she could remain.

courtesy of on.cc

Nick Cheung Ka Fai posted online yesterday that one day a producer called him to give him money. Ka Fai curiously asked, "Where is the money from?" The producer suspiciously asked, "Are you Cheung Ka Fai?" Ka Fai said, "Yes, I am!" Later the producer realized that he made
a mistake, actually he was looking for this Hong Kong Film Award Best Editing winner Cheung Ka Fai. He quickly hung up.

Ka Fai also joked that on the night of the award show, when the host said "Ka Fai" he truly wanted to stand up and mess around.

[2011.04.20] JACKY CHEUNG URGES FOOD BANK DONATIONS

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Jacky Cheung Hok Yau after completing the fifth show of his concert series two nights ago took a two day break before continuing on with the remaining 15 shows. During this break, Hok Yau after the show two nights ago announced good news. He urged friends to give rice instead of floral arrangements, through the St. James' Settlement People's Food Bank for the needy in Hong Kong. Now over 7,000 kg of rice was already raised. Friends who donated included Andy Lau Tak Wa, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Tong Hok Tak, Julian Cheung Chi Lam and Anita Yuen Wing Yi, Joey Yung Cho Yi and others.

When Hok Yau appeared he tripped on the bags of rice on the stage. Hok Yau sat on the bag and joked, "After the concert my legs are inevitably wobbly, haha." Later, manager Chan Suk Fun and Director Andrew Lau Wai Keung who produced the concert music film and animation cut a cake to celebrate the successful performance.

Hok Yau was unable to attend the Hong Kong Film Award due to his concert. Hok Yau said that he never thought that he would be a Best Actor nominee. Because the character in the film was very light, he was surprised to be nominated and joked that he treated it like he won twice.
He also did not forget to congratulate Best Actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Were the results what he expected? He said that he did not have any expectation so he did not think about it before. However he has seen Lau Ka Ling's award winning film and thought that the film revolved around the male character. Ka Ling and the other actress Li Bingbing did not have a lot of screen time, but Ka Ling performed very well. Did he feel bad for his co-star Tang Wei? Hok Yau said, "No, because every nominee are of a certain caliber. You might as well say no matter who won you had to feel bad for the others." Ting Fung defeated four elders. Hok Yau said learning has no order, not to mention that Nick Cheung Ka Fai already won Best Actor two years ago and Chow Yun Fat was a Best Actor frequent guest. Would Hok Yau see Best Actor as a goal? He honestly said, "You can be only if you put in an effort, I really haven't so I don't deserve the award."

[2011.04.20] TVB ISSUES STATEMENT CITING ATV DAMAGING ITS REPUTATION

courtesy of takungpao.com

ATV this year broadcast the Hong Kong Film Award, but according to the TVB announced rating information, the event's average rating was only 7 points and highest rating was 10 points. ATV did not believe the result, thought that TVB's never changing 650 household sample was not credible and even questioned TVB struck at ATV with "falsified" rating. In turn they upset CSM, which was responsible for the rating survey. Yesterday CSM along with TVB and the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong issued a joint statement that said ATV's so-called "falsified" was completely baseless and a severe accusation that damaged the organization (media research) reputation. They expressed deep regret and reserved all right to take action.

According to TVB, CSM's rating survey format and technology met international standards. Everyday it had 2,000 samples from 650 households, the margin for error was within 3% and every 24 hours the latest and the most accurate information was provided. Thus it was currently the television industry's only recognized standard. Hong Kong began rating survey in 1978 through telephone surveys. Then in 1992 it switched to personal rating record and included digital television, LED and LCD viewers to satisfied the complicated and ever changing television industry and advertiser demands. ATV in the past has always participated but last December ATV suddenly announced its resignation and returned to the phone survey format that the industry abandoned. They were not only disappointed but also hoped that TVB would soon participate in the only
industry recognized rating survey again.

[2011.04.19] LAM KA TUNG WORKS TOWARD PRODUCING

Lam Ka Tung

Josie Ho Chiu Yi
courtesy of on.cc

The film GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) two nights ago won Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Film Score. Producer Lam Ka Tung, directors Derek Kwok Chi Kin, Clement Cheng Si Kit led actors Teddy Robin Kwan, Susan Shaw Yam Yam, JJ Jia (Ga Hiu Sun), Wong Yau Nam and Hanjin Tan (Chen Woon Yan) attended the Tsim Sha Tsui celebration. Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung also came to congratulate them. In addition although Josie Ho Chiu Yi did not win Best Actress, her film DREAM HOME two nights ago celebrated as well. Her husband Conroy Chan Chi Chung attended.

Lam Ka Tung said that he was very happy and was very nervous before. He said that he had the most confidence about Teddy Robin's victory, but did not expect Sister Yam Yam to repeat. The four awards truly were unexpected. Has he called the film investor Andy Lau Tak Wa? He said that he already received five messages from Wa Jai. He not only congratulated the winners but also told everyone to keep working hard. Would Ka Tung produce another movie? He said, "Earlier I didn't want to because of how tough it was, but now with the treat I hope to continue the development." Would he raise his rate? He said that he and Wa Jai did not talk about money, they worked as long as they wanted to. Did he feel this time the elder actors were given the awards? Ka Tung said that could not be said. They were dragons depending on who discovered them. He said that everyone did their best, like Chen Kuan-Tai and Leung Siu Lung who did not use any double or ask for overtime. They were worthy of encouragement. Would Ka Tung and Wa Jai celebrate? He said later Wa Jai would perform concerts in the Mainland, he hoped Wa Jai would give him ten tickets for friends or give each person ten tickets. Then after the show they would dine with Wa Jai. Has Ka Tung heard about Wa Jai becoming a father? He said that he did not know, he left the personal matter for him to talk about himself. These four awards were already four fortunes.

Ho Chiu Yi two nights ago lost Best Actress. She said that she would not be too disappointed. The nomination was like an award for her. She said that she was already very happy with such a performance with her first production. Did she congratulate Carina Lau Ka Ling? She said that she has not have the chance. Did she feel that Ka Ling won due to seniority? She said no, it was unrelated. It was purely due to her good acting. Other than Sister Ka Ling she could not think of anyone else who could play Wu Zetian. She said, "In my heart Lau Ka Ling as Wu Zetian was the best, she appeared with an aura, domineering and very natural."

Chiu Yi said that her sisters Chiu King, Chiu Fung and Chiu Ha accompanied her on the red walk to support her and she was very touched. They stayed for the entire show, which she appreciated. She said, "My sisters rarely say we support you, but as soon as they heard I was nominated they immediately said that they had to come." Chiu Yi said that she would continue to invest in movies and hoped to try again next year. She said that the next film would not be bloody and would be crazy in another way. Would she be the lead actress? She said no necessarily as she would respect the story.

The fresh out of the oven Best Actress Carina Lau Ka Ling and Best Actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung after the Hong Kong Film Award attended the Emperor Motion Picture celebration. First time Best Actress Ka Ling had quite a flair, saying that she would put her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai's award to the side and put her Best Actress award in the center. Ting Fung rushed home after interviews at the celebration, perhaps he was in a hurry to celebrate with his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi.

The 30th Hong Kong Film Award two nights ago ended at the Cultural Center. DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK)'s first time Best Actress Lau Ka Ling STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN)'s first time Best Actor Tse Ting Fung posed for photos together backstage. Ka Ling even received her husband's flower delivery, which melted Ka Ling and left her very touched.

Ka Ling said that she did not have time to call Wai Jai yet. Speaking of the very warm text message that her husband sent her, Ka Ling revealed that he sent "No matter what, you in my heart are always the Best Actress". Was she very touched? She said, "Yes." Ka Ling thanked her friends and the media who have supported her for years and grew up with her. How would she share with her husband? She said, "He always shared with me before, but I think when he saw me won this award he was more touched than me." Ka Ling honestly said that her husband regrettably was not by her side, but nothing in the world could be perfect. Where would she put the award? She said, "I would set aside his awards and put mine in the middle." Her mother was also very touched and teary eyed in the audience. Ka Ling said that every time she was disappointed her mother was the saddest. This time she should be shedding tears of joy. Ting Fung backstage said that after the company celebration he would return home. He said that he was not good at small talk and chit chat. Would he give the award to his wife? He said sure.

After the award ceremony, Ting Fung and Ka Ling attended the Emperor celebration at 1881. Zhou Xun, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Stephen Fung Tak Lun, Jackie Chan, Albert Yeung Sau Sing and Deep Ng Ho Hong attended. Ka Ling was quite flashy at the event. Did her husband Leung Chiu Wai call to congratulate her? Ka Ling said, "He already called. He was more nervous than I was. Wai Jai is working overseas and watched the broadcast with Siu Bo (Derek Yee Tung Sing). Siu Bo said that he deliberately prohibited Wai Jai from supporting me in person. He explained that Wai Jai was not lucky for me, but he was just joking. Wai Jai's absence was not an imperfection, life always has regret." Chow Yun Fat lost to Ting Fung, was the regrettable? Ka Ling said, "No, even Fat Gor said, the future of film relies on young people. Enjoyment will come first in my future role selection." Did winning Best Actress complete her life mission? Ka Ling said, "I still have to catch up to Leung Chiu Wai, he has over ten awards. I have quite awhile. He even has a Cannes Best Actor award. When there is a will there is a way, I would put the award between Wai Jai's awards. After one night I would give it to Mommy." Ka Ling joked that she was so happy she might even laugh in her dreams. How could she be so calm on the stage? Ka Ling said, "I am older, after years in the business I learn to relax. Maybe my reaction is a little slow, after calming them then I feel the joy. Now my head is spinning as if it is in the clouds." Ka Ling said, after the award she would not raise her rates. Actress salary has always been around there. She would only play her roles well. With her age role selection is already very limited.

Ting Fung at the party said that after the interviews he would rush home. Was he in a hurry to have another child? Ting Fung responded, "Actually it's late." Ting Fung explained that the celebration had too many people, so he was not at liberty to bring his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi. As for Pak Chi being moved to tears, Ting Fung said that he tried to gauge his wife from the stage but too many people blocked his line of vision. Ting Fung also said that he immediately called his father Patrick Tse Yin. As for what they said, Ting Fung said, "I got it, it's words between men. Papa told me to go home and have a drink, I don't need to say too much." Ting Fung during his acceptance apologized to his father. Ting Fung explained, "I feel it's the most suitable venue. When I was 18 and won Best New Performer, I said something that I haven't been comfortable with for 12 years. In addition Papa isn't young anymore. Those words still floated around in my head when I was 26 or 27." As for international superstar Chow Yun Fat praising Ting Fung on the stage and said that he would support him, Ting Fung said, "Thank you Fat Gor for the praise, willing to have the younger generation a chance. I truly don't deserve it, I can only do my part." Would he like to win with Pak Chi? Ting Fung said, "Getting another nomination it is still a problem."

Two nights ago ATV broadcast Hong Kong Film Award while TVB aired the GRACE UNDER FIRE (NUI KUEN) finale. According to TVB announced ratings, GRACE UNDER FIRE's highest rating was 34 point and average rating was 32 point. Hong Kong Film Award's average rating was 7 point and highest rating was 10; however ATV was dissatisfied with the rating result and thought that TVB never changing 650 household sample was unreliable. ATV public relations department even questioned whether the competition could trust a report that TVB paid for. Whenever ATV had good programs someone would bring "false" rating reports to strike at ATV, which would only move ATV more forward and innovate to give viewers more choices. With ATV broadcast of the Hong Kong Film Award, TVB no longer has power to monopolize all important programs and the age of monopoly has ended. Next week, ATV will announce the Hong Kong University rating survey about the Hong Kong Film Award. TVB said that the 650 household sample was the only recognized report for television stations and advertisers alike, TVB was not the only client. If the information was false, ATV should directly reflect to the authorities.

Eric Tsang Chi Wai yesterday attended a golf open tournament with Vivian Lai Shui Yan, Lawrence Yan Chi Keung, Paul Chun Pui and Albert Au Shui Keung.

After Max Mok Siu Chung's drug arrest news, Chi Wai has not been able to contact him. Reportedly Suen Hing was one of the suspects as well, Chi Wai thought that business meetings at night clubs were very hard to say. Accidental ingestion would not be surprising. He hoped that he would be released soon. Chi Wai said that Mok Siu Chung not only did a lot of charity work but also loved to run. Thus he believed deeply that he was a healthy person. As for the Hong Kong Film Award, Chi Wai honestly said that his picks have always been Carina Lau Ka Ling and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Thus backstage he also encouraged Ting Fung. He said, "I congratulated Ting Fung to win, if he did not he would sooner or later. Ka Ling's victory was the most perfect, I believe her next goal is to have a child."

Chi Wai also attended the GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) celebration and rarely he left without being drunk. Would he have a chance to work new director Derek Kwok Chi Kin? He said, "His next goal should be winning his own director award. This time he had to admit defeat to Tsui Hark. I am confident that he will very quickly win an award again. I will wait until he finishes CHINESE ODYSSEY before discussing collaboration opportunities." As for the Hong Kong Film Award chair Gordon Chan Ka Seung will soon complete his term, would Chi Wai consider taking over? He said, "Gordon belongs to the Director Guild, I belong to the Performing Artist Guild, each organization would nominate a candidate. My term comes to an end this year too. Actually Gordon has done great and kept close contact with the government."

[2011.04.19] TERRY LAI PASSES THE BATON

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Veteran film professional Terry Lai two nights ago at the Hong Kong Film Award won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Yesterday she dined with the media to celebrate. She said that two nights ago many cinema owners tried to schedule dinners with her to celebrate; yesterday she celebrated with her company co-workers with cake. Tonight her husband would take her to dinner with some classmates who returned from overseas. In the foreseeable future, her celebrations would keep on coming.

Ms. Lai in the past not only grew the Intercontinental distribution company business but also put in quite an effort for the film industry. Thus she deserved this award. Now Ms. Lai has already left Intercontinental in her son's hands. In the future she would be able to focus on community charity services. She revealed that now she has begun to work with seniors who live alone. She hoped to have a community care center in all 18 districts in Hong Kong. Now two have already been established. Each one would hire a nurse and a social worker, who would train some volunteers to help seniors who live alone in the community. Thus each center's operation required over 1 million. Chris Lee Yuchun yesterday attended a Metro Radio press conference. Two nights ago she was a Hong Kong Film Award guest presenter. Yuchun said that this was her second Hong Kong Film Award but she still was a little nervous. Because she presented an award with Director Tsui Hark whose words could be all over the place, she worried that she would not be able to handle it. Nominated last year Lee Yuchun was asked whether she would make another film. She said that she wanted to focus on music but still had a few scripts in negotiation.
