Nicholas Tse Ting Fung two nights ago worked on the film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) in Happy Valley. He had bandages on his cheek and forehead. In the story the scarred up Ting Fung stole a car, Nick Cheung Ka Fai caught him and they began a chase. Ting Fung promised his probation officer never to drive again due to his "obstruction of justice" case. This time due to work he had to "break his promise".
After the injury make up, Ting Fung put on a baseball cap and looked tired while sitting by the roadside. Ting Fung for the movie sat in the driver's seat and drove a lap with familiarity. Director Dante Lam Chiu Yin once revealed that Ting Fung would have many driving scenes in
the film and worried about his driving. Conceivably the director could relax now.
Ting Fung's father Patrick Tse Yin and sister Tse Ting Ting visited the set since Tse Ting Ting lived near the location. After they left Ting Fung studied the script and marks with Nick Cheung Ka Fai and others for a scene in which he and Ka Fai ran into each other on the street. In less than a hour they wrapped up the scene and Ka Fai left. Ting Fung rushed to the next shot on Temple Street for a gang beating scene. Before the scene he and director Lam Chiu Yin went over the details. The crew put padding on his hip and knees to prevent injury. Always professional, Ting Fung did warm up exercise before places. During the shoot he gave his all. For realism he even loudly ordered the extras, "Whoever doesn't hit me hard, I am hitting!"
When fighting with the extras he kept taking hits on his back and kicked to the ground. When he was down the others stomped on him. Ting Fung even let out painful screamed. After the shoot the crew had to help him up. He then went to look at the playback of his performance. Although the director accepted the take, Ting Fung asked for another one. After the second take Ting Fung removed his jacket and rested to his vehicle to rest.
