DVD releases for August 24, 2010!
My pick of the week would be the Australian crime thriller The Square a phenomenal feature film directorial debut from director Nash Edgerton and starring Claire van der Boom, David Roberts, Anthony Hayes and Joel Edgerton. We also have the death pondering thriller After.Life starring Christina Ricci & Liam Neeson, Béla Tarr's black & white existential crime/drama The Man from London, father/son bonding film $5 a Day with Alessandro Nivola and Christopher Walker. We also have the period piece The City of Shadows set in North Africa in 1885 and starring Jean-Marc Barr, comedy City Island starring Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies and Emily Mortimer and Abandoned starring Dean Cain and the late Brittany Murphy.
One film on my to see list is Dorian Gray starring Ben Barnes, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall and John Hollingworth, it's one I missed at TIFF'09 and never got a theatrical release here in Toronto.
TV on DVD this week includes one I am aching to add to my collection with Lost Season 6, The Final Season. So sad that the series is over but now you can watch it over and over and over and heck, you can even get the entire series on DVD as well. Another complete series out on DVD this week is Flight of the Conchords.
Also out on DVD this week is The Bad Mother's Handbook starring Robert Pattinson (Twilight).
