Film Fan Fridays for Friday March 6, 2009

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday March 6, 2009! It is quite an exciting week for film, perhaps March is the new May for releases!

In limited release this week we have Bruce McDonald's latest film, Pontypool which brings zombies to small town Ontario in the most amazing way - it's a must see. I'm thrilled to share that Owl and the Sparrow /Cú và chim se sẻ is being releases, it is a beautiful and touching Vietnamese film of unlikely friends and romance. We also have Fear(s) in the Dark which looks fascinating, featuring creepy animated tales from six different directors. Our last limited release is Peter Greenaway's Nightwatching a historical mystery following Rembrandt and the controversy during the process of creating the painting The Night Watch.

In wide release this week we have One Week, a heartfelt journey starring Joshua Jackson that is one of the most Canadian films I've ever seen. Last but not least we have the first of the highly crazy aniticipated releases of the year with the graphic novel adaptation Watchmen which has been buzzing up a storm since Comicon in July 2008.

Q&A goodness:
Pontypool, Owl and the Sparrow /Cú và chim se sẻ and One Week all have screenings with Q&A's over the weekend, check below with the film titles for more details.

Have a great weekend!

Shannon
