Harry Potter Takes it to the Bank: Canadian, North American & UK Box Office July 17, 2009 Weekend

Who is Number One? Harry Potter is! It's no surprize that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the 6th film of the Harry Potter series tops all three box offices of Canada, North America and the UK. One surprize is that it isn't the biggest weekend for Canada or North America (which is still held by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). But, across the pond in the UK we previously had Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with the highest grossing weekend with £8,349,739 but Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince obliterated that by bringin in £19,784,924 on it's opening weekend.

Speaking of Harry Potter - I've seen it and enjoyed it, but was left feeling like I did after The Goblet of Fire, which felt a little different than the others and noticing the chances from book to film. I plan on seeing it again and of course reviewing it, after I'm recovered from my recent Nova Scotia trip, celebrating my Birthday (today!) and have a wedding to attend this weekend. Next week I'll have a lot of catching up to do! Stay tuned.
