Director Benny Chan Muk Sing yesterday brought Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Shu Qi, Collin Chou Siu Lung, Jason Wu Jing, Zhang Jingchu and other actors to attend the summer disaster action film CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) press conference in Beijing. They not only announced the production details but also unveiled 2 minute and 40 seconds of shocking footage.
This time Aaron and Shu Qi reunited since THE STORM RIDERS (FUNG WON HUNG BA TIN HA) ten years later. Aaron honestly said that their chemistry remained without any strangeness! Shu Qi felt that the reunion ten years later was very rare. They worked together so well that they were like an old couple. Ten years later did Shu Qi change a lot? Aaron only said, "Perfect!". Shu Qi followed, "Flawless!" Applause arose from the audience. A reporter asked Chou Siu Lung who flew from the U.S. to Beijing whether he would return to the Chinese film industry to challenge Donnie Yen Chi Tan's King of Kung Fu position. He said, "I never left! (Are you confident that you can beat Yen Chi Tan?) Now I should be able to win because in fights the one with the less bank account has better chances." He expressed that he planned to spend five years in the Mainland and Hong Kong markets. As for Zhang Jingchu she tried her hands as an action actress for the first time this time.
In the highlight Aaron also transformed into a mutant but the transformation was minor in comparison to other mutants. However everyday he still needed seven or eight make up artists to spend five years to complete his make up. His mutant look was very cute. The make up artists wrapped up his entire head as he wore a thick rubber suit. He said, "I have never played such a swollen man. Every time I wear this rubber suit, I am already covered in sweat before the shoot started." Shu Qi played an ambitious female anchor who used Aaron's devotion to achieve her career goals, but later when she realized that she fell for Aaron the end of the world disaster began.
