Film Fan Fridays for Friday August 6, 2010!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday August 6, 2010! How on earth is it August already? Where has the summer gone? It's a mystery!

In limited release this week we have a whopping five films to choose from, but I couldn't be more excited to share that the South Korean western The Good, The Bad, The Weird is finally getting a theatrical run here in Toronto at the Bloor. I've been aching to see for over two years now! Two years! It's from director Kim Ji-woon (A Tale of Two Sisters), stars Song Kang-ho (The Host / Gwoemul, Thirst / Bakjwi), Lee Byung-hun (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) & Jung Woo-sung and has been universally championed as awesome. I can't wait to see it on the big screen! Also in limited release this week is The Death of Alice Blue which is a Canadian vampire office horror/drama, The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle which is very Canadian-looking but actually US film that is a comedy that looks something in between Primer and Junior. Also out is Get Low a dry comedy starring Robert Duvall as Felix Bush, a man who decides to plan and attend his own funeral and the documentary Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel.

In wide release this week we have a dance movie (!!) with Step Up 3D, which I know I'll be seeing, even if it's just to see the So You Think You Can Dance alums Twitch & Legacy! Also out in wide release is action/comedy The Other Guys starring Will Ferrell & Mark Walhberg as two desk-jockey cops looking to get a little more excitement at work in this action/comedy along with Aisha a Bollywood version of Jane Austen's Emma.
