Wai Ying Hung won seven awards with the film AT THE END OF DAYBREAK (SUM MOR). TVB yesterday held a celebration for her. She even announced that she has officially signed a TVB manager contract, but she again stated that she did not sign the contract in exchange for an award. She also said that she was friends with Charmaine Sheh Si Man, Sheren Tang Shui Man and Fala Chen. She felt that any one of them deserved the award.

Speaking of her seven film awards, Siu Hung found the Vladivostok International Film Festival award to be the most memorable. Originally she was to compete at the Golden Rooster Hundred Flower Film Festival, but due to the film's lack of Mainland company investment it did not qualify for competition. Inevitably she was somewhat disappointed because she wanted to win the Golden Rooster Hundred Flower Film Festival award. However on the same night she received the good news from Russia. What kind of character would Siu Hung like to challenge next? She did not mind, as long as the script was good. At the end of the year she would make a film. Although its budget might be lacking, its script was good. She would rather take a pay cut to make it. She said, "Actually money could be made anytime before death, but scripts aren't always available. They also can win awards for me. (Are you focused more on honor?) I only like other people's compliments, an award is a recognition." As for her future goal, Siu Hung said that she has always been more passive. As long as the script was good she was willing to perform. Yet earlier she made several films including KUNG FU WING CHUN and A CHINESE GHOST STORY (SIN NUI YAU WON), which hopefully would enable her to compete for awards next year.
