Time to have a look at this weeks DVD release for October 5, 2010 and it's a great set this week!
Right out of the gate we have 2 awesome Canadian comedies with The Trotsky which stars Jay Baruchel as a Montreal high school student who is convinced he is the re-incarnation of Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky and Passenger Side an urban road movie starring Adam Scott and Joel Bissonnette who have great chemistry as brothers and quick witted and beautiful casual dialogue that is just fantastic.
You can get a kick start for Halloween with scares including the remake A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), one of the grossest films ever with The Human Centipede: First Sequence and creature feature meets oil rigging crew in The Rig.
In the land of highly acclaimed films we have several releases including the surprize nomination for last years Oscars with The Secret of Kells, documentary Soundtracker and comedy Mid-August Lunch.
Troll 2 hits Blu Ray today with a 20th Anniversary Nilbog edition. I have to see this film some day, after seeing the documentary Best Worst Movie which is an after-the-fact look at the film and the fandom it created from what has been considered the worst movie. I really, really need to see Troll 2.
Lots of TV hitting DVD shelves this week including combo pack for Durham County Season 1 & Season 2, Caprica Season 1, Stargate Universe Season 1, Bones Season 5 and Medium Season 6.
Biggie of the week is the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid. Wax on. Wax off.
