Film Fan Fridays for Friday November 12, 2010!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday November 12, 2010!

In limited release this week we have lots of release to choose from including the stellar crime film with a family drama dark comedy punch Down Terrace - if you are in Toronto or Vancouver I would definitely recommend checking out it out this weekend. We also have the multiple BIFA nominated indie sciFi flick Monsters and the highly anticipated biopic 127 Hours starring James Franco as mountain climber Aron Ralston from director by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later, Sunshine). We also have two Thursday November 11, 2010 releases with the touching and gritting Irish film Kisses which follows two very young protagonists to see what life could be like out there on their own (see a see a selection from the Q&A from TIFF 2008 where director Lance Daly describes why he wanted to tell this story), and also out is I Wish I Knew / Hai shang chuan qi from director Jia Zhang-ke (Still Life, 24 City / Er Shi Si Cheng Ji) who has a unique and compelling storytelling style.

In wide release this week we have two literally explosive releases with science fiction/thriller Skyline that centres around the an ominous alien invasion and stars Eric Balfour ("Haven", "Six Feet Under") and Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as a veteran and new rail operators that work torwards stopping a runaway train. Yep. So last week - I wasn't overly interested in any of the films out but this week I want to see EVERYTHING! Funny how that happens.
