THE SKED: "Grimm's" Fairy Tale

Earlier this afternoon, final national ratings for last Friday were released, and once they confirmed that GRIMM had pulled a 1.6 rating, even with the previous week (and just 0.1 out of first place for its hour), NBC reacted like it had found its own American Idol.   Not only did the show get its 9-episode back order, but the network announced that after the show returns from its 3-week break (preempted by a National Treasure picture and a movie-for television the next 2 weeks), it will get a special run with a new episode on Thursday December 8 at 10PM, the day before returning to its regular timeslot.

The cynical might note that with the now-dead Prime Suspect filling that Thursday 10PM slot until THE FIRM arrives in 2012, that isn't quite the prime territory it used to be.  But still, a new episode is a precious thing, and giving Grimm a 2-night event return to the schedule (and the large-scale promo campaign that will surely come with it) shows NBC's commitment to the one piece of good news it can claim from the fall.
