Last night, three networks were up over the same night last year (with two networks up very significantly). NBC was up 48% over last year, from a third-place tie 0.9 to a second-place tie 1.3 rating. Chuck (0.9) was up two tenths from School Pride at 8 pm on this night last year, while Grimm (1.6) improved over Dateline (1.2) by four tenths. The big gain came at 10 pm with Dateline (1.5) almost doubling the Harmony special (0.8 rating for Prince Charles' thoughts on the environment).

FOX was up 39% on the night (also from a 0.9 last year to a 1.3 last night). At 8 pm, Kitchen Nightmares (1.4) bested a House repeat (1.1), while the shaky and extremely narrow Fringe (1.1) beat an original episode of Good Guys at 9 pm last year (0.7).
CBS was up 9% last night from a second-place 1.5 rating on this night last year to a first-place 1.6 rating. A Gifted Man (1.3) slightly under-performed Medium (1.4) in the 8 pm hour, but CSI: NY (1.6) improved its own performance at 9 pm last year by a tenth (1.5). The real growth came at 10 pm with Blue Bloods scoring a 2.0 last night and a 1.6 on the same night last year.
ABC was the only network to lose ground last night, from a first-place 1.6 on this night last year to a second-place tie 1.3 rating last night. Extreme Makeover Home Edition (1.1) tied last year's 8 pm program Supernanny, while the second hour of Extreme Home (1.5) slightly underperformed last year's 9 pm entry, Primetime: What Would You Do? (1.6). At 10 pm, 20/20 fell down (from a 2.0 last year to a 1.4 last night).
