In addition, the host asked how Aarif could cry on cue in the film.  He said that the director deserved the credit.  Before the shoot she explained the importance of this scene to him and taught him how to release his emotions.  Aarif even took the chance to catch up with Zhou Dongyu and others on this trip with hot pot casserole.  Aarif said that later Zhou Dongyu will come to promote in Hong Kong and he definitely will introduce her the beautiful Hong Kong scenery at night at the Peak.

[2011.07.22] ZHOU DONGYU GIVES AARIF RAHMAN THE COLD SHOULDER

Gigi Leung is hospitalized with fever

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed Christmas tear jerker TEARS OF FALLEN CITY (KING SING JI LUI) last night held its global production start press conference in Shanghai Gong Stage. The director along with the cast including Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Joe Chen Qiao-En, Dou Xiao, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and Zhou Dongyu attended. The other lead actress Gigi Leung Wing Kei was absent due to a fever. The director thus sat in Gigi's seat and leaned on Siu Chai.

The film will be shot entirely in Shanghai and its story was formed with "three tears". The first tear starred Zhou Dongyu and Lee Chi Ting. The director before the production began asked them to cultivate their relationship in advance in Shanghai and they have already begun to work for five days. Dongyu worked with Dou Xiao in her previous film UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE, this time she worked with Lee Chi Ting. She said that she has been very lucky to be able to work with them and praised Chi Ting as humorous and energetic while Dou Xiao was more of a gentleman. Chi Ting said that Dongyu looked mild mannered but actually was quite mischievous. However she warmed up slowly. When they first met, after he introduced himself she did not say another word or gave any response. After a few days they were much closer. On stage Chi Ting often took the initiative to lure Dongyu into talking.

As for any chance of developing for them, Dongyu was stunned while Chi Ting said that would depend on destiny. Was she his type? He said that he could not say whether this was the type. Dongyu said that in the film they had a lot of fate. Dongyu in September will start at the Beijing Film Academy. Would she make less movies? She said, "This four year chance (to study) didn't come easily. Before hand preparing for the examination was very tough, so I would cherish it and center around learning."

Siu Chai in the film played someone whose life eroded his dream. Later he picked up his determination again to fulfill his dream. Everyone knew that racing was Siu Chai's dream, but in the past due to work he gave up many racing opportunities. However he decided to pick up his dream again in September and participate in a desert race. Siu Chai said, "If you have a dream but don't go after it, you would regret it. Even failure is better than nothing." In the film he and Gigi were forced to break up. Although the shoot has not officially started, the script alone brought tears to his eyes.

Qiao-En and Dou Xiao played an older woman young man couple. In real life Qiao-En honestly admitted that she has tried such a relationship, but he was only a year or two younger than her. As for any love with regret, she humorously said, "No, none of my boyfriends die." Yesterday Dou Xiao with the flu said that in real life has not have such a relationship but would not mind it.

When Chen Qiao-En saw Fat Gor's photo of her in costume, Qiao-En was teary eyed. "Fat Gor is very thoughtful. After taking the photo he even puts it in a frame for me. When I receive it my heart truly shudders, I was very touched!" Ho Yun Tung who has asked Fat Gor for photography tips could not open his mouth for several seconds when he got the photo. "I never thought my idol Fat Gor would give me a gift. The film has been finished for month, Fat Gor is still so thoughtful. On the photo is Fat Gor's autograph as well as the word love!" Nine Tailed Fox Xia Zitong went to study in the U.S. after completing the film. After the press conference she had to rush back to the U.S. for school.

Chen Qiao-En earlier attended a Moiselle fashion show in Shanghai. Later she will work on THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG). Earlier she was a little worried about working with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing. Later she realized that he was very lovable person who was very energetic. Even though the shoot reached 3 AM he was still full of energy. Their collaboration had a lot of chemistry. Would she and Kwok Fu Sing have a chance for a relationship? She stressed it would be impossible. He was an elder who she admired very much, like a big brother.

The star studded 3D fantasy action epic THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) yesterday held its first press conference in Beijing. Director Soi Cheang Po Shui and the leads including Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Joe Chen Qiao-En, Peter Ho Yun Tung, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Wang Yuanyuan, Liu Ye, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai and others. Jade Emperor Chow Yun Fat and Bull Demon King Kwok Fu Sing could not help but complain about the long make up time.

At yesterday's press conference, the usually mischievous Fat Gor displayed his funny side. Speaking of playing the Jade Emperor, Fat Gor said, "After playing so many boss character, this time I finally got to Heaven. As the Jade Emperor I finally can realize the dream of ruling three realms and commanding the entire world." Fat Gor also pointed out that he will show everyone a different Jade Emperor this time. Yet speaking about the production, Fat Gor said that he was the most afraid of make up and would rather take less salary than spending so much time in make up everyday. Kwok Fu Sing in the film played Bull Demon King was just as afraid of make up. Sing Sing said that in order to play this Bull Demon King character, everyday he had to spend over three hours in make up. After several days, his facial skin had problems. Sometimes he wanted to finish all the scenes at once.

Yen Chi Tan not only starred but also was the action director. With two jobs on his hand, would he feel tired? Chi Tan said that now everyday he only slept for two hours, but he did not feel it was tough. He only wanted to make the movie good. This time Chi Tan played Sun Wukong, but he pointed out that this character in his mind was still brewing. Whether the costume, personality or the co-star scenes in the film he had to complete negotiation before telling everyone. Ho Yun Tung played Erlang Shen, who had the most fight scenes with Yen Chi Tan in the film. He joked that everyone will fight from this year to next year.

Sing Sing yesterday publicly thanked his on screen wife Chen Qian-En because she gave up a lot for him. Chen Qian-En said that she played Princess Iron Fan who gave up being a Heavenly Palace fairy to go to Flame Mountain with Bull Demon King and also carried their child for 300 years. Chen Qian-En pointed out that her pregnant was very tough, though because of it she escaped many action scenes. She also praised Sing Sing's acting as very detailed. Kwok Fu Sing reminded her of many action or expressions that she could not think of. Sometimes he would even talk with the director then like an older brother talk to her about acting.

Chen Wai Lam played Goddess of Mercy. This was her first film after giving birth. She joked that she would like to finish her part as soon as possible so she could be with her son. She said that she took the role mainly because of her merciful personality. She wished that everyone would have a merciful heart like the Goddess of Mercy. Kelly even promised to donated her salary to a children's charity. Leung Wing Kei played Chang E. She said that she rarely worked on costume films and looked forward very much to this time. She also said that she knew Chang E was banished to solitary confinement due to a big mistake. Thus she hoped that no one would be too greedy in life in order to avoid making a big mistake. Yesterday she also introduced the Nine tailed Fox new comer Xia Zitong, who said that in the film she tempted Sun Wukong. She also fell for the most famous Chinese person. In addition, earlier Sun Wukong's costume was unveiled. Director Cheang Po Shui joked that Sun Wukong had 72 transformations. Thus Sun Wukong costumes also required 72 fittings and the earlier revealed one was not the final costume.

Joe Chen Qiao-En and Peter Ho Yun Tung earlier officially joined Filmko. According to Filmko, as early as two years ago the company has been in touch with both. At the time Qiao-En focused on television. At the end of last year she decided to switch to the Mainland and the big screen. Since she and her former management company parted ways peacefully, she was able to work with Filmko. As for Ho Yun Tung who always had a dream to direct, since several years ago he has been looking for the right company to work with. Filmko last year opened a branch in Taiwan. Reportedly Filmko's fantasy epic THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) also helped the contract signings. As for her own relationship, she said that she has been busy with THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) and did not have much time to consider personal issue.

She believed that the quick wedding went through her deep consideration. As a good friend, Chen Qiao-En wished from the heart a happy married life for Big S. When asked about her own love life, she said that she just started work on a film and everything was buried in work.

In the film, Chen Qiao-En not only played an university dragon boat coach but also a famous national rowing champion. Yet to play an athlete well was not easy for the petite her. She complained, "This is my first film, I definitely have to give my all to perform well. In order to
look more like an athlete, I have been training in the gym almost everyday. Some online compliments say my muscles are developed, then I think I have done that. At least I wouldn't lose any points on looks!" However film's torture of her has not ended yet. Playing Princess Iron Fan in THE MONKEY KING, she spent everyday on the wire. The 400 million RMB 3D production THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) earlier officially started production in Beijing and the cast was announced, including Donnie Yen Chi Tan as Sun Wukong the Monkey King, Chow Yun Fat as the Jade Emperor, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing as the Demon Bull King, Peter Ho Yun Tung as the Heavenly Palace's top warrior Erlang Shen, Joe Chen Qian-En as Princess Iron Fan, Monica Mok Siu Kei and Wang Yuanyuan as Rosy Cloud and Colorful Cloud fairies.

Sing Sing's Demon Bull King will break traditions, handsome, stylish and fighting for love. In order for his beloved wife Princess Iron Fan and the 300 year long pregnancy of their son Red Child to be able to return to Heaven, he became an enemy of the Heavenly Palace, incited Sun Wukong to create havoc with him there and finally began a war. Ho Yun Tung said that he was very happy to be a part of the film. Because Fat Gor was his super idol, the chance to work with him was the best present from Heaven. He also looked forward very much to meeting Fat Gor.

He said that when he was little he had many female classmates and he was shorter. At the time after seeing A BETTER TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK) he began to worship Fat Gor. Sometimes he would wear his father's trench coat and suit with a tooth pick in his mouth to imitate the character. When he learned Fat Gor liked photography he went to study it. Yet in his 11 years in the business he never was lucky enough to meet him. He remembered that once at work he heard Fat Gor was shooting nearby and immediately asked the director for time off. He ran nearly 2 kilometers only to find out it was a false rumor. This time Filmko Entertainment boss Alex Wong Hoi Fung on his eve of his birthday called and invited him to perform. When he learned about the chance to work with Fat Gor, he thought it was a great birthday present. He also said that he oftne worked on fight scenes but did not know any martial art. He hoped to be able to properly learn from Yen Chi Tan and Kwok Fu Sing.

Chen Qiao-En also looked forward to working on this film. She was very excited to be able to work with veterans Fat Gor, Kwok Fu Sing and Yen Chi Tan on her second film. In addition, THE MONKEY KING was filled with top Hollywood talent. The special effect make up supervisor was 300's Shaun Smith, visual effect supervisor was ALICE IN WONDERLAND's
David Ebner, Reuben Langdon who was a part of the AVATAR production. Hollywood workers from THE LORD OF THE RING and KING KONG were responsible for building the special effect set. Soi Cheang Po Shui will direct.

[2010.09.11] JOE CHEN WILL FOCUS MAINLY ON FILM NEXT YEAR

Joe Chen Qiao-En who has not appeared in Taiwan for nearly half a year often made appearances once arriving in Taiwan. She said that she was ill from working in the Mainland and was not in good shape. Recently after some treatment she was much better. She said that she just finished the film BREAKING THE WAVES (SPLASH WAVE YOUTH) with Huang Xiaoming. In the film they had many kiss scenes. How did they feel? She awkwardly laughed and said, "He is very professional."

Earlier signing a 5 films in 3 years contract with Wins, she originally had to work with Chow Yun Fat in June on FUN SAU JUEN GA (BREAK UP EXPERT). Reportedly the project postponed production time and again. She has even been demoted to a support role in Donnie Yen Chi Tan's film MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) in October. She responded yesterday, "I
look forward very much to working with Fat Gor, but you should ask the agency about scheduling problems. In principle in the future I will still work on films mainly, I won't be affected." She said that FUN SAU JUEN GA script was still being worked on and will definitely start production next year, meanwhile she has not confirmed to make THE MONKEY KING.

[2010.08.02] ABRUPT END FOR HUANG XIAOGANG MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

Huang Xiaoming, Joe Chan Qiao-En

courtesy of takungpao.com

Just completely the Chen Kaige directed ORPHAN OF ZHAO in the plains of Inner Mongolia, Huang Xiaoming returned to Beijing to participate in the John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) produced Asian Games film BREAKING THE WAVES (SPLASH WAVE YOUTH). Under the blazing sun of Beijing he rowed the dragon boat while romancing top Taiwan idol series star Joe Chen Qiao-En. Last night he even performed a romantic marriage proposal scene in front of the church in Wangfujiang. The attentive Huang Xiaoming not only took great care of his co-star Chen Qiao-en, but also deliberately prepared beverages and food for the over 100 workers in the crew as a late night snack.

An emotional scene was shot that night, as the romantic marriage proposal ended in a car accident. In order to save "Xiaoyue", the Huang Xiaoming played "Tianhua" pushed Chen Qiao-En away from an oncoming vehicle. Chen Qiao-En landed on the heavy padding on the set. Huang Xiaoming very attentively extended a gentlemanly hand to help Chen Qiao-En up after pushing her down and asked her whether his position and strength were appropriate, which Chen Qiao-En praised. Since the shoot took place late at night, Huang Xiaoming even asked his assistant to buy a variety of beverages and food like KFC for the over 100 workers of the team as late night snack.

The team chose a church in the famous Beijing business circle Changan Street to shoot the romantic marriage proposal between the Huang Xiaoming played "Tianhua" and Chen Qiao-En played "Yuan Xiaoyue". Because the shoot took place on the weekend in the business district, the team tried a variety of ways to isolate the shoot location and the streets to keep the crowd from affecting it. They also waited until after midnight when all the stores were closed before shooting. However several hundred people looked on from afar and were reluctant to leave. They stood at any gap that Huang Xiaoming would enter in hopes of seeing the idol.
