courtesy of singtao.com

Lu Yi and Miao Pu in THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) worked with many good actors Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Liu Kai Chi and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. He honestly said that he felt a lot of pressure but luckily he was someone who "gets stronger when he runs into someone strong"; she joked that she had no pressure at all, she would only see them as role models to learn from!

Lu Yi in THE STOOL PIGEON played a villain armed robber for the first time. He had many battles of wits and strength with Nicholas Tse Ting Fung who was an informant for the police. Speaking of the series of fight scenes with Ting Fung, Lu Yi said, "Luckily I was the mastermind
behind the robbery. I only need to issue orders and don't have to fight! I saw how tough and hard Ting Fung was fighting, but he truly was very agile." In the film he shared the screen with good actors like Cheung Ka Fai, Tse Ting Fung and Liu Kai Chi, Lu Yi honestly said that he felt very stressed! However because of this stress he was forced to perform even harder, "Only by working with good actors would I show my potential, get stronger when I run into the strong!"

In addition, Lu Yi revealed that his daughter will soon turn two. Since the birth of his daughter he became a house husband. Aside from work, as soon as he had time he would rush home to be with his daughter.

Meanwhile, Miao Pu played Cheung Ka Fai's wife in the character. In the story Ka Fai had an affair after drinking, leading to a series of tragedies. Did Miao Fu feel a lot of pressure from working with the 7 time Best Actor? She said, "I have no pressure from working with Ka Fai.
Instead the director had pressure because he had to surpass the previous (THE BEAST STALKER), which was a very hard thing to do! Thus the entire team put all of its effort into making every scene the best." Miao Pu also said that she was drooling all over from seeing Ka Fai's 7 Best Actor award with BEAST STALKER (JING YUN), but she knew that she was still early in her career. Thus she would make Ka Fai her role model and take every step slowly. She believed that one day her turn to be recognized for her acting will come.

The Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung starred THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) was released nationwide on the 24th. Cheung Ka Fai on the night of the 23rd promoted the film in Xian and said that as early as 20 years ago he already wanted to be a plain clothes detective
but he never fulfilled it. If he had a chance he still wanted to be a cop.

Cheung Ka Fai at age 17 applied for the police academy to become an uniform cop. Five years later he wanted to become a plain clothes officer, but due to internal issues, despite having the qualification he was still rejected. He left the police at a young age. Two years later, at an old classmate's recommendation he joined Danny Lee Sau Yin's film company and worked behind the scenes. In 1989, Cheung Ka Fai performed in the Lee Sau Yin film THANK YOU SIR (CHONG JI HUNG SUM) and became his acting career. Last year Cheung Ka Fai with THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) won six Best Actor awards. In the film THE STOOL PIGEON, Cheung Ka Fai played a Criminal Intelligence Bureau inspector Lee Chong Tung who not only suffers the pain of losing his wife but also buries his conscience in order to solve cases.

Despite that he knew how hard it was to be a cop, Cheung Ka Fai still expressed that if he had the chance again he would still be willing to be a cop. However he did not want to be on the front line or be a high ranking officer. He definitely would not be a CIB inspector. Instead he hoped for planning work behind the scene like a Crime Unit chief. Cheung Ka Fai joked that he was already "sixty", but he still was not very old and still liked excitement.

Five years of police experience made Cheung Ka Fai while playing a cop very able to grasp the mentality. He also stated that in the past he felt he had to play a mental patient or some special character because that would challenge himself very much. Now he understood that a
character required many people's joint coordination to be able to be played well, because filmmaking was a group activity. Now he hoped even more to be able to work on an even more enjoyable movie with his co-stars. THE STOOL PIGEON has already applied for the Golden Horse Award. Cheung Ka Fai said that he hoped for the director to win the most.

Playing Cheung Ka Fai's wife in the film, Xian actress Miao Pu this time returned to her hometown and deliberately took Cheung Ka Fai and director Dante Lam Chiu Yin to Xian snacks. Cheung Ka Fai was learning the Xian dialect and praised "Lau Ka Leung!" (It meant delicious or great.) and made everyone laughed. At the urging of fans, Cheung Ka Fai danced with Miao Pu, as a fan sang the film's song MOON REPRESENTS MY HEART (YUET LEUNG DOI BIU NGOR DIK SUM). Lam Chiu Yin said that THE STOOL PIGEON was a movie with both love and honor, he hoped that everyone after seeing it would be able to properly cherish those around them. He was very positive about THE STOOL PIGEON box office and stated that he will continue the "humanity trilogy". He would not eliminate the possibility
for Miao Pu to play a Hong Kong police officer.

Kwai Lun-Mei recently came to Hong Kong to promote THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) on Cable Entertainment News channel. This time Siu Mei in the new film played for the first time a tough girlfriend of a mob boss and had many action scenes. Siu Mei recalled that everyday after work she would find a lot of new bruises on her legs at the hotel, but she thought it was a lot of fun. She stated that this character was more direct emotionally, certain about love and hate. It was not too much like her. After the shoot she missed this character very much. Even Tse Ting Fung after watching her performance joked that she was "pretending to be nice" normally. Siu Mei also hoped that in the future she would like to work with co-stars who are full of masculinity like Lau Ching Wan and Simon Yam Tat Wa. Did she prefer to work with more mature actors? Siu Mei said, "I am in trouble now, I also like to work with Ting Fung again."

Having sun the film's theme song, Siu Mei pointed out that she was not singer material. Normally she went to karaoke boxes less than five times. She felt that singing in front of others to express emotions was very hard, thus when she went to the studio she was more stressed than making movies. The host asked to choose between keep making movies in two years, releasing a record or getting married, Siu Mei without consideration chose marriage. She expressed that since childhood she has dreamed about having a happy home, finding someone who would never leave her to get married and have children with; yet she has no plan to marry
now.

The film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN)'s director Dante Lam Chiu Yin and actress Miao Pu earlier promoted in Chongqing. Lam Chiu Yin at the press conference that before THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) he already wanted to make THE STOOL PIGEON, which was based on some real cases. THE BEAST STALKER brought Nick Cheung Ka Fai six Best Actor awards, who will win awards this time? Lam Chiu Yin stated that as the director he would like each actor to be able to take away something from his movie. Although awards could not be wished for, he hoped that every actor would win or Cheung Ka Fai and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung both would receive Best Actor nominations. The director also praised Miao Pu's performance as outstanding.

Miao Pu after THE BEAST STALKER reunited with Cheung Ka Fai. She felt very honored to be able to work with the six time Best Actor. She also pointed out that Ka Fai was serious at work, and would rehearse with her even for a very short scene. he was a great actor. Lam Chiu Yin also pointed out that another actress Kwai Lun-Mei's performance had no reservation. In the film she drank with Tse Ting Fung, at the time she truly drank and had more than one bottle at that. Tse Ting Fung did not drink. When he saw Kwai Lun-Mei drank, he followed suit. Finally he was all read from half a bottle, which he felt was rather fun.

At night Lam Chiu Yin attended the premiere and took time to enjoy Chongqing's hot pot casserole. He stated that it was very hot but a lot of fun. At the premiere, a male viewer screamed "I love you" to Miao Pu, another male fan even rushed the stage with a rose in hand. Chongqing viewers liked the ending because it was different from the usual police film. Lam Chiu Yin also said that if he would make a sister chapter to THE STOOL PIGEON, he would like every actor to keep going with him.

THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) yesterday on the Qixi Chinese Valentine's Day held its premiere press conference in Beijing. Director Dante Lam Chiu Yin, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Lu Yi coordinated with the atmosphere and personally welcomed Kwai Lun-Mei and Miao Pu. Their extremely gentleman like performance won the compliments of everyone.

Speaking of the mysterious relationship scenes between Tse Ting Fung, Kwai Lun-Mei and Lu Yi, they each had their own experience. Siu Mei first bashfully stated, "The character I played was Lu Yi's deep love but was mutual admiration with Ting Fung's character, they met in the intersection during their escape. They were able to know each other until the end." Ting Fung not only had an emotional kiss with Siu Mei in the film but also talked about the kiss scene at the premiere. Always stingy with kiss scenes, why was Ting Fung not stingy with THE STOOL PIGEON? Ting Fung smiled and said, "My wife approved this scene." Everyone laughed while Ting Fung very seriously said again, "If the wife doesn't approve, I don't." As for the kiss scene, Siu Mei stated that when emotions have been accumulated to a point, it would very naturally happen. Ting Fung even said that so far he still has not seen the film, so he was more tense and hoped that it would have a new experience. "I feel that my performance method is more mature." The director immediately an extremely confident answer that Ting Fung's performance was more solid and very accurately grasped his character's inside. That type of maturity radiated out of every part of his body.

THE STOOL PIGEON had many blood racing fight scenes that were approved without a single cut. In addition the Mainland and Hong Kong versions would have no regional difference. Lam Chiu Yin humbly said, "A movie has to have its center and nucleus for the audience to see, not
just blood and violence." Yet about the Mainland and Hong Kong's first uniform version, the director still very excitedly expressed, "(Viewers) can see the authentic flavored film."

[2010.08.04] NICK CHEUNG STEPS ON MIAO PU

courtesy of takungpao.com

Nick Cheung Ka Fai in the film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) played a couple with dance expert Miao Pu. They had a romantic dance scene. Miao Pu had a dance background so the simple steps were no problem for her, but Ka Fai was a mess. He expressed that at first when the director talked about this scene, he thought that a few very simple turns and a few lines would do. However he never guessed that his dancing would be so poor. With two left feet and uncoordinated, he was as stiff as a robot. In his mind when he remembered his dance steps he forgot his lines. He was also constantly half a beat behind and stepping on Miao Pu's foot. He left a huge shoe print on her leg.

Maio Pu pointed out that although Ka Fai did not know how to dance and said how tough it was, actually his performance was unaffected because he would make up for his shortcomings. While others rested, he would practice hard. She admired Ka Fai's professionalism very much. They again played a couple after THE BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) and still had chemistry. Ka Fai said that playing a couple for a second time was a delicate destiny. He also praised Miao Pu's acting as more mature than in BEAST STALKER. She also worked very hard and often would humbly ask others for help. She was an actress with a lot of potential.
