[2012.02.15] JULIAN CHEUNG CONSIDERS MATCHMAKING FOR ANNIE LIU

The film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG) yesterday held a production start ceremony.  Attendees included Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Mandy Wong Chi Man, Oscar Leung Lit Wai, Ava Yu Hiu and Jinny Ng Yeuk Hei.  Director Patrick Kong (Yip im 
Sum) and boss Stephen Shiu Jr. also attended.  The director arranged for nine actresses to pose with Chi Lam.  Chi Lam admitted that he almost had a nosebleed from seeing Sum Yau in her nurse uniform.

Chi Lam also revealed that many bachelor friends used visiting him as a excuse to see Lau Sum Yau.  He also praised Sum Yau as the hottest single girl in the business.  He had some male friends with decent qualities and hoped to match up with her!  Sum Yau laughed and said that she was an otaku and only wanted to focus on making movies.  Chi Lam said that many thought Lau Sum Yau was beyond their reach.  They would spend the time to make a movie to get to know her.

In the film Sum Yau played a troublesome girlfriend who was a control freak with her boyfriend.  Was Chi Lam's wife Anita Yuen Wing Yi the same way?  He awkwardly said, "I forgot."  Earlier he was often caught on the streets with Len Len yelling at him.  Chi Lam helplessly said, "I have no comment.  I feel reporters didn't want to waste their photos."  

With rising popularity recently, Wong Chi Man yesterday was late.  This was her first movie and first collaboration with Yip Lim Sum.  In the film she played Chi Lam's sister and a couple with Leung Lit Wai again.  Wong Chi man admitted that she was very nervous about her first film, but she would see it was a good learning opportunity.

[2012.01.13] DONNIE YEN HELPS THE GOVERNMENT DISINFECT NEW BUILDING

Donnie Yen Chi Tan yesterday worked on the upcoming film production 3D THE ICEMAN COMETH (3D GUP DUNG KEI HUP) poster.  Producer and investor Stephen Shiu Jr. revealed that the film production cost reached US$20 million because of its many large scale scenes.  The production already received an approval for a four hour shoot on the Ching Ma Bridge, and even planned to shoot location at the Government House and the new Government Headquarter for the ending.  As for the new Government Headquarter virus, Chi Tan said fearlessly, "We can help them disinfect."

Chi Tan said that the rumor of him making 200 million was exaggerated.  "I didn't count, I left it all for my wife to handle."  He reiterated that he did not feel he made a lot because actors all looked glorious on the surface.  In addition the performing art life would not be long, the more he worked the more he got.  Was his next target the Best Actor award?  He said, "I haven't deliberately thought about becoming the Best Actor, but I hope to try different characters."  For example in the comedy ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2012 (BAK SING PO HEI), he claimed that he performed without holding back and hoped the audience would like it.  Speaking of the Tony Leung Chiu Wai starred THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) still has no release date yet, would he make another IP MAN?  He said, "I wouldn't make another one after someone else's is released.  Actually I am still brewing, when the time arrives I would make it again."

[2011.12.21] DONNIE YEN PROMOTES THE ICEMAN COMETH

The Strongest in the Universe Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred and action directed new film THE ICEMAN COMETH 3D (3D GUP DUNG KEI HUP) has already begun its pre production work.

Earlier Chi Tan after meeting with producers Stephen Shiu and Stephen Shiu Jr. went to the set for a 1:1 Iceman mold.  During the process, Chi Tan's entire head was brushed with multiple layer of material and cold wax.  His entire face was sealed with only his nostrils left for breathing.  The process took over a hour.  To maintain the wax figure's best condition, Chi Tan had to tolerate itches and could not breathe heard.  He could not move either.  However he had no complaint.  Finally the process was done in one shot and Chi Tan's effort was not wasted.

After the process, the film company will begin promoting and put the wax in costumes for Mainland cinema display.  The film already began promoting before it even started production.

[2011.06.02] VONNIE LUI ASKS FOR MILLIONS TO PROMOTE?

Vonnie Lui Hoi Yan during the 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM) promotion won over boss Stephen Shiu Yeuk Yuen because she was willing to cooperate. Yet later she claimed due to enormous pressure she began to lose control and started to "cover up". Earlier she went with the team to Cannes and saw how successful the film was. When Stephen Shiu Jr. asked her to promote in Thailand, she immediately replied with a seven figure "promotional fee" demand via a text message.

Stephen Shiu Jr was stunned and did not comment. Siu Yan continued to shut off her phone and remained out of contact. The film company has already dumped her and confirmed to head to Thailand on the 6th with Hiro Hayama, Tony Ho Wa Chiu and Leni Lan Yan. As for future productions, the film company has also taken a "laissez-faire approach". Reportedly Stephen Shiu Jr has already informed company employees, "Use her if she is right, don't go out of your way."

Stephen Shiu Jr. spent 400,000 for a 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM) party. He said that after the party when he returned to the local office he already had over a dozen people who wanted to buy the film outside the door. The film will be released in June or July in Italy and France, hopefully the European and American market could make up for the Chinese market. Stephen Shiu Jr. yesterday celebrated the success of 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM), but none of the actresses appeared. Chapman To Man Jat two days ago posted his "vocal performance" of a "3D SEX AND ZEN review" to YouTube. He read a viewer's thoughts after 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM) in its original format that was filled with foul language. The video received over 330,000 views in one day.

The viewer claimed that SEX AND ZEN was an extreme disappointment to him, lacking in sex scenes but excessive with bloody violence. To Man Jat said, "I haven't see the movie, but earlier I saw Stephen Shiu Jr.'s response to that viewer online and thought this review was very funny. On a whim I recorded it and posted it. I think the online world is very suitable for film people to find inspirations and make exchanges that are close to viewer tastes."

Would he be concerned that his foul language filled performance would affect his image? To Man Jat felt that comedy actors needed different ways to cheer up viewers. Earlier he produced a comedy performance of UNEASY and even put the idea in ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2011 (JUI KEUNG HEI SI) to make the audience laugh.

[2011.04.20] VONNIE LUI BREAKS DOWN OVER CRITICISM

Vonnie Lui Hoi Yan, Hiro Hayama (Yip San Ho), Tony Ho Wa Chiu, producer Stephen Shiu Jr. and theme song performer Sukie Shek Wing Lei two nights ago attended the 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM) celebration. Stephen Shiu Jr. announced that the film after five days in release in Hong Kong passed 14 million at the box office, after one day in release in Taiwan it made close to NT$5 million.

Lui Hoi Yan was excited about the box office success. "I just returned from promoting the film in Taiwan, such a good performance truly is very rare." Speaking of many online criticism about her being the promotion selling point but she did not perform in the buff in the film. Even her topless scene only lasted two seconds. Some even questioned whether she used a double and demanded a "refund". Lui Hoi Yan stressed that she did not use a double. Because during the shoot she was thinner, visually there was a difference. As for why she was not fully naked, she explained, "My character is a hermaphrodite, I am topless but I covered up below. The third spot that everyone saw on screen required computer generated effects."

The film 3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY (3D YUK PO TUEN ji GIK LOK BO GAM) actors Yukiko Suo, Leni Lan Yan, Sukie Shek Wing Lei, and Cheung Ching Si yesterday promoted in Mongkok. Yukiko Suo knew how to steal the show as she often pulled down her collar and played sexy. Instead Lan Yan who played disappearance earlier yesterday dressed conservatively and looked upset.

The film company yesterday set up a stage to promote, but the police arrived and said that they did not file an application with the Lands Department. Sexy Mainland star Leni Lan Yan suddenly vanished and could miss her new film promotion at any moment. Producer Stephen Shiu Jr. already issued a final notice to Lan Yan's manager. If he did not receive any response by the date line he would reserve the right to take legal action.

Lan Yan vanished after rumors of suicide.
