[2011.06.29] CHRISSIE CHAU STOPS A VOLLEYBALL WITH HER FACE

In the Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Theresa Fu Wing, Jessica C. starred BEACH SPIKE (YIT LONG KAU OI JIN), Chau Sau Na and Fu Wing love beach volleyball. Both say that they are no stranger to the sport. Chrissie says, "In secondary school during breaks and after lunch I would
play volleyball with classmates. Of course we aren't playing very officially, just the ordinary passing and blocking."

Before the film began production, the actors received volleyball training for three full months. Facing the hellish training, each actor was focused on the practice, but in exchange they received a body full of bruises. Theresa says, "Seeing all the burst micro blood vessels and bruises on my hands, I instead felt very solid. The thinking was beyond deranged. Actually after a few more times I was numb. We girls thought we had a knack. Haha!"

Chrissie also says, "In the final match, every actor had to take a ball to the face. The volleyball coach served, that moment of impact was seriously tasty. My face looked like Lord Guan's, but when I saw the result it was very shocking. So it was worth the swollen face."

Christopher Saint Booth talks about Soul Catcher Trail of Fears by Tina Carreiro, Paranormal Movie Examiner.

Christopher Saint Booth talks about Soul Catcher Trail of Fears by Tina Carreiro, Paranormal Movie Examiner. Booth brother, Christopher Saint Booth, CEO of Spooked TV, documentary filmmaker, writer and much more talked with Tim Yancey, host of Encounters Live last night about how they got started and their latest Booth Brothers film, Soul Catcher.

The Booth brothers began making films in the 80’s starting with the Playboy channel, where they made around 59 films. Wanting to follow their true passion, they made the leap to the paranormal in 2005 with Death Tunnel that is based on actual accounts of ghost sightings at the Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Louisville, Kentucky. They simultaneously filmed the documentary, Spooked the Ghost of Waverly Hill Sanitarium, which gained the attention of the Si-fy network and their work with Spooked TV was born.

Booth, talked about the love and passion behind filming paranormal documentaries. Putting real people and filming at the actual documented locations means a lot to the brothers. Capturing the hardship and emotional stories from the people that are the foundation of the Booth’s films brings realism to the forefront of their movies. Having control of their work has made each film special. They pride themselves on trying to bring the best quality to their films for the people that love them. Christopher Booth takes it a step further and states: “We appreciate the fact that people love our stories and I can tell you, I don’t care how much money we don’t make. We’re never gonna do a 22 minute or 52 minute reality show that is garbage.”

Fans of the Booth brother’s are in for a treat, and luckily they pour their passion into the paranormal genre because Soul Catcher, their latest film, will take you on a wild spiritual ride. The Booth’s have tagged this film as their biggest, epic, Supernatural Adventure to date.

Booth gives us some insight on what to expect from the latest film. Soul Catcher starts out in the Mojave desert where they get into a 1939 German spy plane and fly across the desert to land in the lake beds to look for the medicine wheel, which they do find. The film deals with the haunting of the earth and they pulled EVP’s from the ground in several locations. They stopped in El Reno, Oklahoma and filmed the Indian boarding schools that are haunted by the spirits of Indian children and elementals outside, animalistic, the one’s with green eyes and growling, shadows 20 feet high, skinwalkers, shapeshifters and the legend of deer women.

The Native American interviews will describe the real tragedies which encompass the school house haunting as well as the legends that the Indians believe and the ones that are made up to protect their tribes from other tribes and cowboys. Interesting EVP’s from the schools will be played and those EVPs are not in English.

Soul Catcher is available July 17th, 2011. Autographed copies are available if you preorder it now at www.soulcatchermivie.com

If you want to catch the Booth Brothers in person, they will be attending the Mid-South Paranormal Convention in Louisville, Kentucky August 26th – 28th.

What’s up next for the Booth brothers? Voodoo Vampires and sex with ghosts.

Live interview is at http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/15619063

THE SKED: "True Blood" Keeps Gushing

According to TV By the Numbers, the season premiere of TRUE BLOOD on Sunday night had 5.4 million viewers (a virtual tie with its all-time high) and a 3.0 rating in 18-49s (slightly below its previous high).  Considering that HBO repeats its shows nonstop through the week and on VOD (a million extra viewers joined in the fun via the Sunday 11PM repeat alone), and that HBO subscribers only comprise 1/3 of households, these are amazing numbers.

True Blood isn't just HBO's cash cow, but the network's raging id; while every original HBO show makes use of its generous allowance of sex and violence, none of the others do it with such unrestrained glee.  The season premiere itself (Spoiler Alert if you haven't tuned in yet), was largely a reset of the main plotlines, because it turns out that while Sookie thought she was spending just a few minutes in the surprisingly evil faerie world (the opening sequence that was shown as a "special preview" after the season finale of Game of Thrones), time works differently there, so when she returned to Bon Temps, more than a year had passed.

So:  Jason is now a real cop and the fairy (but not faerie?) godfather to some notably ungrateful were-somethings; Tara has changed her identity and seems very happy in her new relationship with her (female) cage-fighting opponent; Lafayette, at the behest of Jesus (not that one), is sitting in with a coven of witches--they're led by Fiona Shaw and she's already used Lafayette's powers to bring a bird back from the dead, so that's not going anywhere pleasant; Andy is addicted to V; Jessica is living with Hoyt but missing that old vampiric ultra-violence; and Sam is part of an anger management group that transforms into horses to release the tension.  Oh, and Bill is the Vampire King of Louisiana.  And Eric has bought Sookie's house, because apparently real property law trumps restrictions on vampire powers, and now he can come and go from the house as he pleases--and he mostly pleases to arrive when Sookie is naked.  All of this is as over the top and guilty pleasure-ish as the show always has been.

Back to ratings:  HBO is trying an interesting experiment this week, allowing network subscribers to watch Episode 2 of the series a week in advance on its online HBO Go service.  I've chosen to wait, because I'd rather watch the episode in HD on Sunday, and seeing Episode 2 early just means a 2-week wait for Episode 3.  It's not clear if they'll release any information about the number of viewers who opt for the HBO Go version, but HBO has cleverly scheduled the test on a holiday weekend when viewership would be lower anyway, so it would be hard to figure out whether the online viewers dented the on-air audience.

Yesterday was Tony Leung Chiu Wai's 49th birthday. Two nights ago Jet Tone film company arranged for a group of co-workers and friends to dine with him to celebrate, of course his wife Carina Lau Ka Ling took part. However the always low key Wai Jai only posted a solo photo on the microblog.

Jet Tone two nights ago posted a Happy Birthday Tony birthday cake photo at 11:33PM and wrote 30 minute countdown. Then at 12:05AM it posted a photo of Wai Jai removing the candle from the cake and wrote Happy Birthday; Ka Ling posted online at 12:10AM, "Master, Happy Birthday to U" but uploaded an old photo of her and Wai Jai. Wai Jai's own microblog has not been used for over a year. The last message was his Happy Birthday last year. Thus fans only left congratulatory messages on Ka Ling and Jet Tone's microblogs.

Top Taiwan sexy model Bianca Bai yesterday came to Hong Kong for two days to work on a print ad for a skin care center. Bianca Bai said that she already took a new film that will start work at the end of the year but she still could not reveal her co-stars. She would like to work with Lau Ching Wan the most. In her eyes, Ching Wan loved his family and was masculine. He was very easy on the eyes and had no distance. She said, "I just like him very much, I already saw many of his movies." Would she mind passionate bed scenes? She giggled and said how could that be possible as if she did not believe she would be so lucky. She was asked whether she would like a passionate kiss scene. She said, "I would faint on the spot. I am better off treating it like a fantasy, I feel embarrassed when I talk about it."

[2011.06.28] DOU WEI'S NEW WORK ATTRACTS FAYE WONG'S ATTENTION

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Peter Chan Ho Sun directed suspense film WU XIA's theme song LOST IN THE WORLD (MAI JAU GONG WU) was written and performed by Faye Wong's former husband Dou Wei. Two days ago the song was released and was immediately an online hit. Faye Wong after listening to his new song immediately commented "BLACKEN DREAM" on a site called KOJI (BLACK DREAM was the title of Dou Wei's 1994 collection). Immediately passionate debates were triggered online. "This is considered interactive? Does it? Does it?"

Others tried to under Faye Wong's critique. "Faye Wong said Dou Wei's LOST IN THE WORLD is a blacken dream......my understanding is, the Dou Wei that she was familiar with was back, but she was no longer who she was. He is back, but she is gone. How poetic!"

Chan Ho Sun used rock music for the film's end title song because the film did not have a traditional happy ending; under the rock rage exterior, the film's unease could be expressed.

During the shoot, Chan Ho Sun even played Black Panthers' hit DON'T BREAK MY HEART for the cast to find the feeling. Later, he also asked the team to look for over 300 rock songs and listened to each one. When he heard NO ROOM FOR MYSELF, he thought this song could be placed at the end of the film. When he saw Dou Wei wrote it, he was more determined to look for Dou Wei. Before he went to Cannes, Chan Ho Sun sent a copy of the film to Beijing for a super super advanced screening for Dou Wei. After becoming the film's first viewer, Dou Wei only spoke 20 minutes with Chan Ho Sun to seal this deal. Dou Wei only spent five days to complete this work and described this song as "the most violent" in recent years.
