Tuesday again which means time to explore DVD releases. Let's look at what we can get out little hands on for DVDs this Tuesday March 2, 2010.
I think one of the highlights this week for a lot of people will be the kids book adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are, which I didn't end up reviewing mostly because I didn't feel like the target market. I do want to see it again though. One film I'm kicking myself for missing during it's brief theatrical run is the The Private Lives of Pippa Lee which has a stellar cast including Robin Wright Penn, Alan Arkin, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. With the upcoming release of Alice in Wonderland this week there are tons of versions of the tale being released on DVD but out of the ones available, I'd recommend Alice (2009 mini-series) starring Caterina Scorsone and Andrew Lee Potts. It's a great version of the story with interesting takes on the characters and fantastic art direction. Also hitting the shelves this week is the animated film Ponyo, the Robert Pattinson starring How to Be and action packed Bitch Slap.
More action to discover with some classics heading our way including Return to the 36th Chamber on DVD and the original and fantasting 36th Chamber of Shaolin being released on Blu-Ray. Along the same vein is the newer release Wushu Warrior.
Speaking of Blu-Ray, the epic and eighties Clash of the Titans (1981) is making its way to Blu-Ray today. Kind of freaks me out that out of all the films released today, this is the only one I've reviewed. Weird.
The big disaster-hit flick of 2009 was easily 2012 and now you can see it again in all it's disaster delights. Last up of the week is the Mickey Rourke & Diane Lane flick Killshot.
