The Toronto Japanese Short Film Festival is on it's second day here in Toronto. Want to hear all about the festival? Check out an interview with festival director Akiko Ohata over at the Toronto J-Film Pow Wow. The festival runs from October 7 - 10, 2008 at Innis Town Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Reuters reports on the new documentary rules for the Oscar's, specifically how it will disallow the chances of Waltz with Bashir from the running. They stat the new rules indicate that for the upcoming 81st Academy Awards there is a required one week screening in Los Angelas and Manhattan by August 31. The hoopla regarding the timeframe is that the deadline comes before the New York Film Festival.
