Reuters reports that Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Lust, Caution) is set to make a comedy based on the Woodstock inspired book "Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life" by Elliot Tiber.

Deepa Mehta (Water) is set to receive the 2008 Infinite Power of Story Lifetime Achievement Award at the Film Outside the Frame Festival, reported by Variety.

Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival early bird festival passes are now on sale. The Festival Pass, Screening Pass and 4pack all have some sweet savings. Price will go up October 21, 2008. The festival runs November 12 -16, 2008.

Fans of the upcoming film Watchman rejoice! FirstShowing.net has announced that a new trailer for the film will be played in front of the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace scheduled for release November 14, 2008.

Geeks of Doom reports that scenes in Transformers 2 will be in IMAX, taking a cue from this summers hit The Dark Knight.

Looking for what to do this weekend? Nuit Blanche starts Saturday October 4, 2008 at 6:52pm and runs until sunrise here in Toronto. There are definitely film friendly events including Mamoru Oshii 's Tokyo Scanner which will be played at the Japan Foundation Toronto - thanks to Toronto J-Film Pow Wow for the head's up!
