Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday September 11, 2009! Festivals all around us as TIFF lands in Toronto. If you are looking for something short & sweet check out TUFF which will be easy to spot for TTC riders the Toronto Urban Film Festival shows collections of 1 minute silent films on TTC subway platforms, with a central hub at the Yonge & Bloor station.

This week all three films being released are wide releases. I have to say I really wish Whiteout starring Kate Beckinsdale as a US Marshall on the hunt in Antarctica came out last week for two reasons - 1) it would have saved me from seeing Gamer and 2) I would have gotten to see it! Now I have to wait until after TIFF! If you are looking for the latest horror remake you are in luck as Sorority Row hits screens this week, it's a remake of the 1983 House on Sorority Row. Our third film of the week is Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself, where Tyler Perry writes, directs and stars in dual role one of which is the Madea character. I haven't heard anything about the film but is does have a gorgeous poster.

As this week drives us full force into the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), be sure to check your local listings when planning your movie going many of the downtown theatres are partial or completely TIFF'ed venues. I'll be attending the festival and sharing vlogs and reviews with my ongoing festival coverage here at Movie Moxie.
