The boxoffice was steady as expected yesterday, virtually everything within 5%, up or down, from where it was on Wednesday. There were just a couple of exceptions:
PARIAH (Focus): Proved to be scarily front-loaded, down a horrible 55% on its 2d day to an average $2500 in 4 theares.
EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE (Warners): Gave back most of Wednesday's increase with a 7% drop, leaving it at an $4800 average in 6.
Business should pick up today, then drop tomorrow (but not nearly as much as Christmas Eve), rise again on New Year's Day, and fall for Monday, the end of the holiday rush.
