[2012.02.03] SAMMI CHENG ONLY WANTS TO DATE

The film ROMANCING IN THIN AIR (GO HOI BUT JI LUEN II) last night held its premiere at the Sky 100.  In attendance were Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung, directors Johnnie To Kei Fung and Wai Ka Fai.  The venue was decorated mainly in white and spray with artificial snow, making it rather romantic.  Playing a couple in the film Goo Jai and Sammi held hands as they appeared and posed for photos sweetly.  Yet when her real significant other was mentioned, Sammi declined further discussion and again clarified that she had no plan to wed.

Goo Jai and Sammi worked together again after eight years.  He said that actually it was more than eight years.  If they counted television series they have not worked together for over a decade.  However because they knew each other for a long time they had a lot of chemistry.  Sammi said that off screen her friendship with Goo Jai has already been elevated to another level.  She also thought that Goo Jai has matured a lot.

To Sir revealed that Goo Jai was very hairy and this time even worked with real facial hair.  He truly was very manly.  In the film Goo Jai played an all purpose artist, but he claimed in reality he was not.  Although he has directed and sung, he did not know how to play the piano and write songs.  In one scene he had to write a song for Sammi, he asked her for help.  Goo Jai also said that in one scene he had to carry Sammi from a sea of tree.  He happened to not feel well that day, so the shoot was both very tough and unforgettable.

With Valentine's Day on the way, this film will be released on Valentine's Day.  Sammi said that she will not be in Hong Kong that day.  Has she prepared a gift for her boyfriend Andy Hui Chi On?  She sweetly said, "I am not talking about this, let's just talk about the movie."  Will she ask people to buy tickets?  Sammi stated that she will not be in Hong Kong.  How will Goo Jai spend Valentine's Day?  He said that he will spend it with To Sir and joked, "Actually Christmas last year, this New Year's Day and Valentine's Day, Easter I will be with him.  For the movie I can't do anything about it."

In addition, Sammi and On Jai reportedly will wed in August.  Earlier they even went bed shopping together.  Sammi reiterated that she had no plan to wed and she did not want to respond again.  That day they only passed by.  Reportedly they went to buy a bed for sex.  Sammi joked, "Wow!  I am terrified, don't talk about this.  Let's just be together for awhile."  Will Goo Jai keep a low profile on his romance as well?  He learned from Sammi and said, "Let's talk about the movie."  Sammi heard and joked that he was mimicking her.

The Hong Kong Performing Art Academy's 25th commencement ceremony took place yesterday. With her years in the film industry Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) received a honorary degree, Chung King Fai received a honorary drama doctorate degree, Joseph Koo Ka Fai received the honorary music doctorate degree and Peter Lam Kin Ngok received that honorary academy doctorate degree.

As the East Asia Entertainment boss, Lam Kin Ngok had the support of many company artists like Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Johnnie To Kei Fung, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Andrew Lau Wai Keung, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Ivana Wong Yuen Chi, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung and Denise Ho Wan Si. Lam Kin Ngok's mother, children, Mr. and Mrs. Lam Kin Hong and Lam Kin Ming also
attended. Even Michelle who was linked in rumor with Lam Kin Ngok attended.

Lam Kin Nogk was asked whether he would like to share the doctorate degree with his father the most. He said of course, at night he would offer incense and he should be happy. His artists said that the boss had everything so they did not consider giving a gift. He said, "Since they were willing to sign with me, they don't need to. As long as Sammi doesn't give me a red bomb (wedding invitation) I am fine. I didn't hear any news, next time I would ask her for everyone." Lam Kin Ngok pointed out that everyone was like him and wanted to see them get married! Earlier Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi was rumored to sign with Lam Kin Ngok, but Mr. Lam explained that it was a film negotiation. How was the progress? He said that so far he has not seen Pak Chi. She said that she would not have a big belly like the boss.

Miriam Yeung Chin Wa yesterday attended her Ladies & Gentleman world tour Guangzhou stop press conference. This concert will take place at the end of the month in Guangzhou. When asked whether she would invite Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and his wife as guests, she immediately said, "What? We belong to different companies." She pointed out that the guest list was still under evaluation, perhaps she would invite Wilfred Lau Ho Lung.

Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Michelle Ye (Yip Shuen), Huang Yi, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung two nights ago attended the OVERHEARD 2 (SIT TING FUNG WON 2)'s Causeway Bay press conference. The new film had nothing to do with the previous film. Ng Yin Cho will battle Goo Jai and Ching Wan, Goo Jai will sell out his wife Yip Shuen while Huang Yi and Ching Wan will play a couple. The relationships will be rather complicated. Producer Felix Chong Man Keung joked, "This time is somewhat unusual. Mainly we want to compete with 3D SEX AND ZEN so we will have bed scenes." Actually he was referring to Ching Wan and Huang Yi. Was Ching Wan challenging his screen limit? Ching Wan said, "Neither directors know how to make that type of movie so don't worry, but it should be entertaining!"

Goo Jai appeared scruffy looking with a head of white hair. In the film he played an anti terrorism department head, but because of his leg injury Goo Jai revealed that he could not handle even a simple running scene. However he would insist against using a double. Would this scene be postponed? Goo Jai said, "This isn't the only reason. The scene also requires a chase throughout the busy city streets and explosives, so it is more complex. The shoot has to control the scene proper. However lately I haven't rested much and I haven't done physical therapy. Earlier in a car chase I almost crashed, luckily I was fine." After this film will he make less action films? Goo Jai said that the next film will already require battle scene and horse riding. Luckily it will not shoot until the summer and he will be able to rest during the break.

Speaking of Isabella Leong Lok Si's break up announcement, Goo Jai looked shocked and said that he had no idea because he was working on the film. Since she issued a statement and they were outsiders, they should comment less as it was a private matter between two people. Did he feel the children was more innocent? Goo Jai believed that they have discussed that, otherwise the court would decide. Recent rumors claimed that Goo Jai's relationship with Richard Lee Jat Kai was ambiguous and Leong Lok Si was only a surrogate mother. Goo Jai smiled and said, "It's not true, I don't need to respond!"

Yip Shuen revealed that in the film Goo Jai will sell her out and put her in prison, but after her release they made up. She honestly said that she had previous experience with a boyfriend but did not talk about it in detail. Was she someone who would make an U turn? Yip Shuen said, "Depending on the situation like how much I love him, actually before the shoot we were only at a script reading I lost control and broke down. Goo Jai cried too." Speaking of Chan Kwok Keung who she has been linked romantically to will soon take over TVB, has anyone contacted her to return home? Sammi Cheng Sau Man and Louis Koo Tin Lok worked together again on a Johnnie To Kei Fung directed romance, the film company earlier held a production start ceremony. The company boss Peter Lam Kin Ngok, chairman John Chong Ching, Sammi, Goo Jai and other actors Huang Yi and Wilfred Lau Ho Lung attended. [2010.11.27] AARIF RAHMAN SUFFERS INJURY FROM CLIMBING A SCAFFOLD

Already in release, the film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER's scaffolding scene near the end was the most shocking. The team built a 20 meter long scaffold and a tile roof top climb and used nearly 50 extras. Action director Chin Kar Lok kept urging everyone to be careful with every step. Any misstep would lead to a ten meter fall to the ground or severe injury from the scaffold. Thus the entire team was on a level ten alert.

In this scene Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and his buddies MC Jin and Hanjin Tan had to climb a ten meter tall building to dodge villain Wilfred Lau Ho Lung. Yet Lau arrived with a gang so they had to perform a dangerous chase on the roof. Because the roof was constructed with tiles and was unstable, Chin Kar Lok warned the actors about some areas of the roof that they absolutely should avoid.

Already injured before the shoot Lee Chi Ting paid extra attention during the shoot. Unfortunately in the end he still could not avoid aggravating the old wound, which started bleeding again. Lau Ho Lung had to jump from the ten meter high rooftop to the ground. He was very worried before hand but after several stunt coordinators' instructions he was able to finish the shot in one take.

[2010.11.09] ELLA KOON DECLINES TO INVITE HER BOYFRIEND TO WATCH HER NEW FILM

The over two weeks long 7th Annual Hong Kong Asian Film Festival closed last night. The event selected MERRY GO ROUND (DUNG FUNG BOR) and UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE to be the closing films. Leads of the two films Ella Koon Yun Na, Terry Robin Kwan, Wilfred Lau Ho Lung and Zhou Dongyu and Dou Xiao attended.

Last night was also MERRY's premiere. Lead actress Ella was also this film festival's ambassador. Although she invited her family she did not invite her boyfriend. Ella said that friends who have seen the advanced screening all said she performed well, which made her very happy. However she never thought about winning an award. However if she would she would be happy as well because it would be a recognition of her. For this film, Ella even worked on location at the Tung Wah coffin home. Afraid of death she began to cherish things a lot more and her temper has also improved. She said, "If I live to be 90, 1/3 of it is already gone so I have to cherish it. (Have you thought about when to have a baby?) Not yet, now the distance from the mentality of being someone's wife is still very far. (Yet parenthood is best started young?) Science is very advanced now, you can have one at any time!"

Dou Xiao and Zhou Dongyu came from Shanghai and Beijing respectively, Dou Xiao was working in Shanghai with Dong Jie on the new romance WHITE FLOWER IN AUTUMN. FROZEN (WAI NEI JUNG CHING) yesterday held its outdoor premiere. Leon Lai Ming, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Janice Man Wing Shan, Janice Vidal (Wai Lan), Ti Lung, Susan Shaw Yam Yam and director Derek Kwok Chi Kin attended. Leon left after speaking for three minutes on stage. However, the film arranged for Janice Man and Ti Lung to appear on a yacht. Janice Man's hands were tied with black cloth. Since her appearance was different, she immediately became the media focus. Lee Chi Ting who started the show performed NICHOLAS and went off key twice.

Leon said, "When I first started I was a film new comer too. At the time many reporter elders took great care of the younger generation. Hopefully everyone would see this movie as a Hong Kong people's movie. Let's see together whether it was made very sincerely." Leon spoke for three minutes then left. In addition yesterday was Susan Shaw Yam Yam's birthday, Wai Lan and Lee Chi Ting immediately sang the birthday song in celebration. The host revealed that Chan Sin Chi was also a birthday boy.
