Time to have a look at the DVD releases for September 21, 2010!
Seems like every week recently we have a big summer film hit DVD and this week it's most certainly Robin Hood, and the release gives you 2 viewing options with a theatrical version along with an unrated director's cut. I'm curious. Also out this week is the fantastical The Secret of Moonacre based on the book The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, and it's so very exciting to see a magical film with a young female protagonist! On a completely different tone we have The Experiment (2010) which is a remake of the 2001 film Das Experiment, both a fictionalizations inspired by the Stanford prison experiment from the book Black Box. We also have the Oscar winning The Secret in Their Eyes making it's DVD debut.
There are lots of films being released this week that I haven't yet seen but really want to, including Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming (dance movie!), Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead (title speaks for itself), Ondine (IMDb plot description of "The story of an Irish fisherman who discovers a woman in his fishing net who he believes to be a mermaid.", and Colin Farrell) and My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done (Werner Herzog = yes)
Fair amount of TV hitting DVD this week including the sword & sandals series Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Complete First Season, recent action series Human Target: The Complete First Season and Castle Season 2.
