Canadian, North American, UK & Australian Box Office December 24, 2010 Weekend

Here we are with the 52nd weekend box office of 2010 and even though it's already 2011 the numbers are only partially in. It's kind of driving me bonkers, because I have a great list in the making for folks about Box Office in 2010 - but I can't finesse and share it until the UK and Australian numbers come in! Ah well, it's one of the reasons why I've decided that I'm not going to share the weekly deets of the box office in 2011, some of the numbers take a long time to come in and also it's interesting but lots of people talk box office. I also originally started talking box office to bring attention to Canadian films and that the Canadian Box Office isn't the same results as North American, or American. I'll still do that, but likely through twitter, facebook and commenting elsewhere. Also, this week we had the much-promoted, Golden Globe nominated, Canadian Barney's Version come at #17 at the box office on it's debut week, behind the limited-release film from China If You Are the One II (Fei Cheng Wu Rao II which had almost no promotion and debuted at 16. That just mystifies me.

For 2011 I will still track and share the Canadian, North American, UK and Australian weekend number 1's by week and by weekend gross, so we'll still have a fun list at the end of the year.
