Time to take a look at a selection of DVD releases for Tuesday September 6, 2011!
- Small Town Murder Songs (DVD Review) Absolutely phenomenal drama set in small town Ontario following an crime that happens in their community. Stars Peter Stormare, Aaron Poole & directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly
- The Good Heart I really enjoyed this drama with Brian Cox & Paul Dano which I saw back at TIFF in 2009 that follows the two actors portray an reluctant mentoring relationship in a bar.
- Hanna DVD Review) action/thriller starring Saoirse Ronan as a teenage assassin, also stars Eric Bana & Cate Blanchett, directed by Joe Wright.
- King and the Clown I loved this gorgeous & sensitive South Korean film set during the Chosun Dynasty following 2 clowns that get arrested for a being in a play that satirizes the king, and I saw it at TIFF years ago but never wrote about it so that means it's really taken its time to hit DVD at 5+ years.
- Wrecked Adrien Brody stars in this small-cast, small-set, contained location thriller. I wanted to see this one.
- The Arbor This is on my to see list for sure, an interpretive biography/documentary on playwright Andrea Dunbar.
- Vidal Sassoon - The Movie documentary on the famous, influential & trend setting hair sylist.
- Certified Copy I'm surprized I've not heard more about this romance/drama starring Juliette Binoche & William Shimell; directed by Abbas Kiarostami.
- Fringe: The Complete Third Season I'm chomping at the bit to get this DVD having recently falling involve with this fringe science/science fiction series starring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson & John Noble. CHOMPING.
- No Ordinary Family Season 1 I only caught the pilot for this regular-family-turned-superheroes but heard that it did pick up a bit as the season when on. Now you can check out the whole season in one go.
- Straw Dogs 40th Anniversary BluRay Wow, 40th Anniversary of the original and 1 1/2 weeks before the remake hits theatres on September 16, 2011.
- X-Men: First Class isn't coming out today, but will hit stores for the weekend as it makes its DVD release on September 9, 2011. Sadly it was my least favourite of the series so far, which is a shame especially considering the fantastic cast.
