14th British Independent Independant Awards Winners (2011 Films)

Earlier this week the winners were announced for the 14th annual BIFA's (British Independent Film Awards), which were held on December 4, 2011. Leading the wins was Tyrannosaur with three including Best British Independent Film, Best Actress for Olivia Colman and Paddy Considine won The Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director. I'm thrilled to see the acknowledgement for Tyrannosaur, although it was not an easy film to watch when I saw it at TIFF'11 it was without a doubt one of the best in the year. I'm also excited to see the one weekend stand romance Weekend picking up 2 awards for Most Promising Newcomer - Tom Cullen and Achievement for Production Design. On the flip side I'm a littls surprized to see some high profile films like Shame, We Need To Talk About Kevin and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy only going home with 1 award each. . Although, it is pretty cool to spread the love around. Let's look at the winners in all of the categories.
