The Sked: THURSDAY RATINGS February 2

FOX wins Thursday, but CBS -- the only network to show gains on the night -- is getting closer.

             Nightly Adult 18-49 Rating
Thursday     FOX    CBS    ABC    NBC
02.02.2012   3.9    3.5    2.5    1.5
02.03.2011   5.4    3.1    3.1    2.3

FOX took another Thursday victory, but CBS is getting extremely close.  While American Idol's Wednesday edition is continuing to drop each week (yesterday's official rating came in at a 6.0 rating), the Thursday edition is settling into the mid-5 range, 28% below the same number last year.  The Finder seems to be settling in the mid-2 rating area.  However, note that last night's Finder fell from a 2.6 from 9:00-9:30 to a 2.2 from 9:30-10:00, indicating a low-2 rating might be its ultimate destination in a few weeks.  This night last year: American Idol (7.5) and Bones (3.3).

On CBS, Big Bang Theory won the 8:00 half hour (a preliminary 5.4 rating to a 5.0 for the first half of American Idol).  At 8:30, Rob declined to its fairly reliable level (a 3.4 rating last night to a 5.8 for the second half of Idol).  At 9 pm, Person of Interest is on track to set a new series high (assuming the number holds in the official nationals, which it will in all probability).  The Mentalist also had a good night, near a season high at 10 pm.  On the same night last year: Big Bang Theory (4.3), $#*! My Dad Says (2.8), CSI (3.0) and The Mentalist (2.9).
