Alan Tang Kwong Wing on March 29 passed away from heart disease at home. His family has been busy with his affairs and now has decided to hold his funeral services starting on the 14th at the Hong Kong Funeral Home. Yesterday his daughters held a press conference to announce the details, but before they could speak they already broke down. However they stated that they would succeed their father's spirit, properly take care of the home and live on.
Tang Kwong Wing's daughters Yip Yan and Yip Wai yesterday along with their father's friends John Chiang Dai Wai, Ho Lai Chuen and Chan Ka Ho held a press conference to announce their father's funeral arrangements. Before the event started they already broke down in tears. Chiang Dai Wai spoke first and said that Tang Kwong Wing's passing was very sad for his family and friends, who have been busy with Big Brother's affairs in recent days. The details were left for the daughters to announce and the press conference would not address any question. Elder daughter Yip Yan was teary eyed and said that father went very peaceful and was very lucky that many family and friends were able to send Papa on his final journey. Papa's funeral services will start on April 14 at the Hong Kong Funeral Home with a Buddhist ceremony, with viewing beginning at 6:30PM that day. The next day the final ceremony will take place and then the remains will be transported to the crematorium. She continued, "Papa in life had a connection with the Chung Tai Chan Monastery. The head abbot says that Papa had a lot of good karma and thus makes the exception to leave Taiwan to host Papa's memorial ceremony. This is a very rare honor." She also revealed that on the night of father's passing, the temple sent a monk to the home and prayed for Papa.
Later Yip Wai said that the family has been doing its best to prepare for father's affairs and created a special program for family and friends for father. The content mainly remembers Papa and contains some valuable photos. She began to choke up as Yip Yan held her hand in support. Yip Wai continued, "I represent my family at this opportunity to thank family, friends and the media who have been busy on Papa's behalf. We have completely received all your well wishes. We two sisters will succeed Papa's spirit, properly take care of family and live on."
After the sisters left, Chiang Dai Wai and Ho Lai Chuen at the request of reporters remained for a brief interview. As for the pall bearer list, Chiang Dai Wai said that it was being handled. As for the photos in the special program, he pointed out that Tang Kwong Wing had many photos so the daughters and some good classmates were choosing from them. Mrs. Tang Janet Yam Siu Ping now seems to have settled down. Many friends have kept her company and consoled her. She was even more comforted when she learned that the head abbot will come to Hong Kong and host the ceremony. However she remained very heart broken. As for any memorial ceremony, Ho Lai Chuen said that none would be held as they would only focus on doing their best on the 14th and the 15th. However the family from the first 7th to the 7th 7 will conduct a ceremony for Big Brother. Big Brother's ashes will be placed in Hong Kong and the location is being arranged. As for Big Brother's Macau casino numbers, Chiang Dai Wai said that he was not sure.
