FULL WEEK BOX OFFICE ACTUALS & YEAR TO DATE July 11-17

The past week (seven days ending Sunday) came in up 25% versus last year's comparable week (the first significant increase in five weeks).  Year-to-date box office is now down 7% versus last year.   

The Past Week: Total Box Office Volume

All films in wide release playing between July 11 and July 17 grossed $331 million, up 25% versus the same week in 2010 and up 17% from the average comparable week the past four years.  Year to date, all films are down 7% from the same period last year (down from -9% last week), and all films year-to-date are flat versus the comparable year-to-date number averaged over the last four years.
