The broadcast week just concluded (July 18-24) had virtual parity between the four major broadcast network. A mere two-tenths of a rating point separated first from fourth place, continuing a trend we have seen all summer as high-rated sports programming and NBC's The Voice left the air.

The chart below lists the hit network shows by night (those programs at a 2.0 Adult 18-49 rating or higher). ABC's Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss has joined the list. Just missing the list are It's Worth What (1.8 rating on NBC Tuesday), Wipeout (1.9 rating on ABC Thursday), and The Simpsons & Family Guy (1.8 rating each on FOX Sunday). A new show joined the CBS schedule Sunday night, Same Name, and it disappointed with a 1.5 rating (dropping 38% from its Big Brother lead-in). Same Name was extremely heavily promoted the last several night, squeezing out promotion for new fall series -- a bet that did not pay off.
