Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!
Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday June 20, 2008! With Canada Day closely approaching it's thrilling to see that half of the releases this week are Canadian including two of the most anticipated of the summer.
This leads us right into the limited releases of the this week starting with the phenomenal docu-fantasia from Guy Maddin: My Winnipeg. If you have not seen a Maddin film yet, be sure to check out the trailer so see how his films are like no other. Another truly unique film is the international metal documentary Global Metal which looks awesome. Rounding out the Canadian releases is the family drama Family Motel and out final limited release of the week is Before the Rains.
Our two wide release this week are both comedies. First up is the TV to to film adaptation of Get Smart which has one of the best casting choices I've ever seen with Steve Carell playing Maxwell Smart. The final release for the week is Mike Myers' lateest The Love Guru.
Have a fabulous Pride weekend!
