TIFF 08 - Venues, Dates and Pass Info

The news releases have begun which means it's time to warm up for TIFF 08 which will fun from September 4 - 13, 2008. Information has been released regarding venues & ticketing as well as film announcements. Here are some of the highlights.

Theatre Locations 2008:

AMC Yonge & Dundas
Roy Thomson Hall (Opening Night, Closing Night and Gala Presentations)
Elgin Theatre (Special Presentations and Premium screenings)
Varsity
Cumberland
Isabel Bader Theatre
Winter Garden Theatre
Jackman Hall
Ryerson
Scotiabank

Which leaves out The ROM out of the list of locations from last year. I'm looking forward to checking out the AMC Yonge & Dundas pre-festival to see what it is all about and it is conveniently located very close to the Elgin and Ryerson. It makes that south end of town feel more cohesive with a grouping of theatres, just like how we have the Bader, Varsity and Cumberland all close to each other up on and around Bloor.

Pass/Ticket Infomation

I think it's great that they have added a 15 ticket daytime lite pass, and a 30 ticket festival lite. Last year the options here 50 tickets non transferable festival pass, 25 ticket daytime pass and 10 ticket passes. More options to suit more needs from different festival goers. Ticket packages go on sale by payment with VISA only from July 7 through July 13/08 (online, phone, in person), Cash & Debit sales begin July 14/08 at 10am.More ticket package and box office info here, box office info here.
