DVD Releases: December 1, 2009

Let's have a look at this weeks DVD and even some Blu-Ray releases!

Looking forward to:
Being a huge fan of the (first two) Terminator films, I looking forward to the release of Terminator Salvation, but it's really best viewed as an action flick of the Terminator world as opposed to a sequel and it stars Sam Worthington, the Aussie star that is going to take us by storm in the upcoming films Avatar and Clash of the Titans. Lots of releases this week from around the world including the French comedy The Girl From Monaco / La fille de Monaco, Flame & Citron / Flammen & Citronen from director Ole Christian Madsen starring Thure Lindhardt and Mads Mikkelsen (After the Wedding / Efter brylluppet, Valhalla Rising) and the UK film Five Minutes of Heaven starring Liam Neeson. We also have the Canadian film Sticks and Stones where hockey & making amends go hand in hand.

Wild Cards
On the wild card list this week we have the French crime film Bellamy starring Gérard Depardieu along with drama The Girl in the Park starring Sigourney Weaver. We also have two films that look like they have their fair share of testosterone, Raging Inferno a 2008 German TV movie that looks very Towering Inferno like and then Death Warrior where 5 MMA champions compete in a deadly game! Rawr!

Blu-Ray
Getting their Blu-Ray release this week are another Canadian hockey film, The Rocket / Maurice Richard a multiple Genie winning biopic with Roy Dupuis in the title role, we also have one of my favourite and very innovating film Run Lola Run starring Franka Potente with awesome red hair. Two Guy Ritchie films land in Blu-Ray this week: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels & Snatch.

Blast from the Past
Nothing says Christmas like a horror film, er, okay maybe not everyone feels that way but if you do rejoice as the 1984 holiday horror Silent Night, Deadly Night comes to DVD. Ticking back the clock even further to 1976 we see Mad Dog Morgan comes to DVD in an uncut version.

Known Entities
Popular titles of the week include sequelishious Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and is-it-a-doc-or-is-it-real romance exploration Paper Heart starring Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera playing Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera.
