Well we don't have too many releases of note this week but what we've got, rocks. And we beginning with the awesomeness of Black Dynamite, a blaxploitation homage and truly one of the funniest films I have seen in years. I can think about particular moments in the film and burst into laughter. I am thrilled I had the opportunity to see it on the big screen with a full house last year at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and am thrilled that it's now on on DVD so that everyone can enjoy it. If you want to hear more about the film, you can ee selections of the Intro and Q&A with director Scott Sanders here from screening last August at the festival.
Next up is another fantastic film, Coco Avant Chanel a biopic on Coco Chanel starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie) in the title role. Absolutely fantastic film, and an especially great treat for all us fashionistas out there.
Also in release this week is the Canadian comedy You Might As Well Live and the award winning drama Amreeka. Criterion releases of the week is Revanche, and out on Blu-Ray is Akira Kurosawa's Ran. Last mention goes to the Law Abiding Citizen.
