67th Golden Globe Winners

Well the ballots were counted, delivered, sealed, broken and revealed. Was a bit of a little bit of a little something for everyone night. The surprizes were on the subtle side this year, for example both Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep had 2 nominations each individually, which normally the odds are not to win either but tonight - they both one once. Once was a big number tonight with the majority of films winning getting 1 award which left us with no sweeps this year. The most any one film received was 2 and that happened 3 times: Up (Score, Animated Film), Crazy Heart (Song, Actor - Drama) and Avatar (director & Film - Drama). The Avatar wins appeared to be the big surprize of the night, along with The Hurt Locker winning zero awards so surprizing that even James Cameron during his acceptance speech said that he hadn't prepared as he thought Kathryn Bigelow would win. Another surprize that Up in the Air only went home with one award.

Speeches were a nice highlight of the night and it started off right with a gorgeous and heartfelt speech from Mo'Nique who won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. Drew Barrymore also had a fantastic speech that started by commending Mo'Nique and going from frazzled to fantastic. Robert Downey Jr. also gave a great almost anti-speech about all the people he shouldn't thank but did and was his usual charming self. I also have to say big kudo's to "Glee" for stressing the importance of arts education during their acceptance speech for TV Series, Musical or Comedy.
