The big news of today will be the Oscar nominations but before we get to that let's take a look at the DVD Releases for February 2, 2010!
First up is the fantastic South Korean comedy Daytime Drinking which is hot off the festival circuit and now hitting DVD and is available for purchase over at Evokative Films website. We also have Tony Jaa getting back to his Ong Bak roots with Ong Bak 2: The Beginning, keeping it historical but a different flavour we have Jane Campion's Bright Star the historically set film centred on the relationship between Fanny Brawne and John Keats. Also fun to enjoy is the zombie pick of the week: Zombieland, because it's been too long since we've had an awesome zombie release.
We have lots of romance centre films which could be a February thing, starting off with Adam starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne, Mira Nair's Amelia Earhart biopic Amelia starring Hilary Swank and romantic comedy Love Happens starring Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston. Going to a few wild card like selections we have a creepy looking horror film Circle of Eight, documentary following inspiring women A Powerful Noise and more documentary goodness with basketball doc More Than A Game. We also have the omnibus film New York, I Love You and Cold Souls starring Paul Giamatti.
Blu-Ray Releases
Heading to Blu-Ray this week, Tony Jaa fans rejoice because it's elbows to the face all over again with Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior. Also in Blu-Ray release are Mystic River and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
Special Edition
With the remake just around the corner it is perfect timing for the original The Wolf Man (1941) to get a special edition release. I can't believe I haven't seen this film yet! I will get to that one day!
