Donnie Yen Chi Tan, directors Alan Mak Siu Fai and Felix Chong Man Keung yesterday promoted their new film THE LOST BLADESMAN at the Lord Guan Temple. Chi Tan said that at first when he took the role, because he knew little about the THREE KINGDOMS story he worried. However he knew that the directors have never made a costume film and would make it in the format of INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH) he became interested in doing his homework fully. Mak Siu Fai and Chong Man Keung said that viewers would not watch a historical film. They would make a costume INFERNAL AFFAIRS like a police film, but they would not mess around and twist around the historical story.
Chi Tan although constantly played a classic figure, but he did not feel that he played too many. He thought that this was a process as an actor. If he did not break through and grow up soon viewers would abandon him. He said, "Thus I can't just keep playing Ip Man, I have to play other characters to elevate acting and improve for the viewers to see."
