Friday viewing patterns are pretty much locked in. A brief review of the broadcast networks follow for the record. TBS coverage of two exciting one-run Game 5's in the National League will be reported when available.
CBS won the third Friday night of the season with a 1.6 Adult 18-49 rating. A Gifted Man has settled in at a 1.2 rating (three-week track 1.4...1.2...1.2). The struggling freshman drama finished second in the 8 pm hour (losing to Kitchen Nightmares on FOX). CSI: NY built to a 1.6 (winning 9 pm) and Blue Bloods kept going to a 1.9 (winning 10 pm).
FOX was second with a 1.4: Kitchen Nightmares (1.5) and Fringe (1.3). Fringe has bounced around a bit (1.5...1.2...1.3), but a 1.3 seems to be what we can expect.
NBC was in third place with a 1.2. Repeats of Up All Night and Whitney each rated a 0.9 each from 8-9 pm, while Dateline did a 1.3 at 9 and a 1.5 at 10 pm (good enough for #2 in the hour leading into late local news).
ABC, like the previous two Fridays, was around a 1 rating in each half hour: Modern Family repeat (0.9), Suburgatory repeat (0.9), Revenge repeat (0.9) and 20/20 (1.1). The extra hour of repeats at 9 pm continues to give Dateline NBC a huge advantage over ABC's 20/20.
On The CW, Nikita dropped a tenth to a 0.5, while Supernatural held steady at a 0.7.
Season to date (19 nights in), CBS and FOX are tied at a 3.1 rating. Looking at an extra decimal place, CBS is a 3.10 and FOX is a 3.09. ABC is in third at a 2.5, while NBC is a 2.3.
