PRIME SUSPECT had an awful 1.3 rating in 18-49s last week, despite NBC's having given it a vote of confidence with an order for 6 additional scripts, which would allow for continuous production should the show receive a back order of episodes. Notwithstanding that ratings setback, the Peacock is going all-in on its commitment to the series: Vulture reports that Suspect will air no less than 5 times in 6 days from Oct 24-29, with repeats on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday surrounding a new episode on Thursday the 27th. (However, October 27 marks the start of "November" sweeps, so don't expect the stunt to be repeated.)
It's heartening to see the network give a full-court press to a series it believes in. But adding a Monday repeat last week only led to the rating for Thursday's new episode slumping further downward, so Maria Bello fans shouldn't get their hopes up.
