It's Tuesday again, which means it's time to look at a selection of DVD Releases for this week, March 15, 2011:
- Hereafter One of the films from 2010 that I continue to keeping thinking back to again and again and look forward to seeing it now that it's being released on DVD. This supernatural themed drama starring Matt Damon (The Adjustment Bureau) is well worth checking out.
- The Fighter (DVD Review) Multiple Oscar winning biopic featuring boxing focused family including centred on brothers Micky Ward and Dicky Ekland, played by Mark Walhberg & Christian Bale.
- Sharktopus SyFy monster film featuring a .... you guessed it, half-shark, half-octopus. Stars Eric Roberts and is one heck of a lot of fun, plus it has a great commentary from producers Roger Corman & Julie Corman. Also released on BluRay.
- A Shine of Rainbows Touching family drama set in Ireland and centred on a young boy who is newly into a family.
- Devil's Playground Slick, fast paced UK infection/zombie film that's got a very strong human side to it and explores survival with some new spins and great performances by Danny Dyer & Craig Fairbass.
- Bodyguards & Assassins Set in 1905 Hong Kong on the eve of a secret revolutionary meeting with power plays on both sides looking to stop or help the success of a nation's fate. Stars Donnie Yen and has some rockin' action.
- Carlos epic crime biopic on "Carlos the Jackal" comes out with a two-disc limited edition with the full-length, three-part experience. Crazy long.
- Kings of Pastry I've heard such awesome things about this documentary and only passed on seeing it due to not wanting to completely drool over the food.
- Yi Yi and Au Revoir les Enfants both get Criterion BluRay treatment today
