College football between nationally-ranked teams was the only attraction on network TV Saturday night. CBS was #1 with a 2.7 rating for Alabama (#3 ranking) at Florida (#12), from the popular SEC conference. ABC was #2 with a 1.8 rating for Nebraska (#8) at Wisconsin (#7). FOX replaced its sagging Cops franchise, repeating Terra Nova's two-hour premiere for a 0.9 rating, while NBC registered a 0.7 rating with repeats of Harry's Law, Prime Suspect and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The football ratings are subject to adjustment as they do not reflect the live feed pattern of sports. In the Pacific and Mountain time zones (about 25% of the country), the football ratings above reflect what was on CBS and ABC at 8 pm Pacific time. The final national ratings will correct the western US to reflect the games, which started at 5 pm PT.
Season to date (the first 13 nights of the season), FOX (3.11 rating) and CBS (3.09) are in a virtual tie, while ABC (2.60) and NBC (2.15) trail badly.
