Film Fan Fridays for Friday October 15, 2010

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday October 15, 2010!

In limited release this week we have Clint Eastwood & Matt Damon teaming up again with Hereafter, a supernatural-vibed film with feel if being able to see what happens after death, we also have Conviction which is based on a true story of a brother & sister played by Hilary Swank & Sam Rockwell when the sister puts herself through law school to work towards freeing her convicted brother and also out is the drama/romance Lovely, Still. Also in limited release is the rape/revenge redux I Spit on Your Grave (2010) as well as the Thursday October 14, 2010 release of Tales from the Golden Age.

In wide release this week we have the fantastic action/comedy Red (2010) starring Bruce Willis as a Retired Extremely Dangerous man who gets in a lot of action trouble and adventure and needs the help of his ragtag friends to get through it. We also have Nowhere Boy, a biopic chronicling the childhood of John Lennon. Stars Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) as John Lennon, from director by Sam Taylor Wood who directed the brilliant and award winning short Love You More. Also out is the thriller Stone, which following parole officer (Robert De Niro) inmate (Edward Norton) and his wife played by Milla Jovovich. The trailers got a bit of creepy misdirection and possible love triangle/fatal attraction thing going on. Last up for wide releases is Jackass 3, in 3D.

If you are looking to get into the horror-day spirit by listening to the latest episode of the Movie Moxie Podcast where I check out horror films as a genre in my continuing genre explorations.

Have a great weekend!

Shannon
