[2012.01.06] FRANCIS NG'S ACTIN STUNS MICHAEL TSE

Laughing Gor Michael Tse Tin Wa again jumped from television to the big screen as the film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) followed the television series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK)'s story.  Laughing after murdering So Sing Pak was found guilty and
sent to prison, then another undercover mission began.  Tse Tin Wa in the film had many scenes with the Francis Ng Chun Yu played Professor.  The card scene near the end was unforgettable for him.

Tse Tin Wa praised Chun Yu's performance as unforgettable to him even now.  "When Chun Yu took his mark for the first scene, his interpretation was completely different from what I imagined.  His interpretation to me had an impact on me, stimulated my thinking and gave me a sense of freshness."  TURNING POINT 2 was the only Hong Kong film release during the New Year slot, which made Tse Tin wa feel very proud.  Would he like its box office to be better than TURNING POINT (BIN JIT)?  He said, "I never thought about it.  If I think like that, I would have stress."  Would he work on another series about Laughing?  The audience and TVB would decide.

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan went from LIVES OF OMISSION's smart lawyer to TURNING POINT 2's mental patient.  The characters differed drastically.  She said, "I rather enjoyed playing a mental patient, the character had potential.  The only bad part was the shoot was too rushed."  She recalled her first scene was when she learned that So Sing Pak was dead and she collapsed from crying.  It was completely just as the sun rose and she only had two opportunities.  It was dangerously close but luckily it was completed.  "I only had two chances to make this scene good.  I had to cry until I collapsed, the stress was tremendous and it was very tragic!  I at first thought only the first day of work would be like that, but later many important scenes were just like that too.  Even so, I still enjoyed the production process.  The outside response has been very positive too and I felt comforted."

The film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) premiere took place two nights ago in Causeway Bay Jade Palace cinema.  Actors Francis Ng Chun Yu, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Chapman To Man Jat, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Janice Man Wing Shan and others attended.

The actors toasted to the new release at the premiere.  The film is slated for a release on the 29th.  Lead Tin Wa said that he was not worried that the film would miss the first round of the Christmas slot.  He thought that on Christmas holidays people might be busy with other matters.  He thought the second round release would not affect the box office.  Tin Wa said, "I only look forward to the box office getting better and better, then dinner inevitably will be my treat.  However I don't need to guess how much the box office will be."

Janice in the film kissed Tse Tin Wa but through glass.  She said, "I thought it was pretty special.  Through glass I really didn't know how to kiss.  Finally it took five or six takes."  Tsui Tsz Shan dressed provocatively for the event.  Janice said that her figure could not rival hers so she dressed casually.  After the premiere, she thanked the director for releasing her scenes in their entirety without any edit.

Ng Chun Yu earlier at the TVB Anniversary Awards presented the Best Actress award to Myolie Wu Hung Yi.  She invited him to participate in TRIUMPH IN THE SKY 2 (CHUNG SEUNG WON SIU).  Chun Yu said, "I am working out the details with and saving the slot for TVB, but I never consider guest starring and I don't want to make an exception."  Chun Yu compared himself to an alumnus who returned to work in his alma mater.  He said, "Lately the alma mater is a little strapped and needs help from its alumni.  I am not talking about money but the sequel.  For the sequel to be better than the first it is very hard."  Chun Yu was asked whether TVB lacked talent and needed him to return to save it.  Chun Yu said, "TVB doesn't need others to save it, it can take care of itself.  If it is described as a rescue, then the person who saves it gets too much credit."

Ron Ng Cheuk Hei's former girlfriend Zhang Xinyu reportedly called Tsui Tsz Shan earlier to call her a slut.  Tsui Tsz Shan said, "The show promotion is already over and won't need any more endless promotion.  It should be time for a lead change!  I haven't talked with her over the phone, we don't know each other.  I only learn from the report that she is Ng Cheuk Hei's girlfriend."  Tsui Tsz Shan said that some people would say anything but she stressed that she was not a slut.

Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu, Hyman Chu, Whitney Hui, and Miss International Goodwill Nicole Leung two nights ago attended a TVB event.  Rebecca Zhu has already completed the film TURNING POINT 2
(LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN).  How did she feel she did?  She said that she has not seen it yet and will wait until the December 20 premiere to watch with the audience.  She also revealed that she had a lot of fun working with the cast.  "This time I just guest starred, but this chance was very rare.  (Did you have many bad takes?)  Yes, but they weren't too many."

Actually this time Rebecca Zhu had the most scenes with Francis Ng Chun Yu.  She said, "He and I have a long distance exchange.  He indeed lives up to his Best Actor status, with just a look that he tossed over he already had drama, so he was able to bring me into character."  Other actors were very friendly.  They knew she was very nervous about her first movie so they gave her some advice.

courtesy of takungpao.com

The film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) yesterday began work in Tuen Mun.  Michael Tse Tin Wa, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Janice Man Wing Shan, director Herman Yau Lai To and others participated in the shoot.  Yesterday they shot a prison scene, Ng Chun Yu played a professor.  Yesterday TVB announced its award nominations.  Both Tse Tin Wa and Wong Chung Chak were nominated for Best Actor with LIVES OF OMISSION.  Tin Wa said that he was already very happy with the nomination and was the happiest about being nominated with Wong Chung Chak, which proved that the audience accepted that series.  He admitted that he had confidence and thanked Damien Lau Chung Yan for picking him as the favorite.  Was his biggest rival Kevin Cheng Ka Wing?  Tin Wa did not directly respond and only said that the nomination was already great.

Bosco received two nominations, one of which was his first Best Actor nomination.  He knew that Cheng Ka Wing was a favorite and Tin Wa was popular.  Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung's new series had decent ratings too.  He was the one with the least experience among them.  As for his Best Actress favorite, Bosco said that of course would Myolie Wu Hung Yi.  Her series THE RIPPLING BLOSSOM (YU YEUK JOI FA GEIN) had good word of mouth and now CURSE OF THE ROYAL HAREM (MAN FUNG JI WONG) also had great response.  Would he like to with Best Actor and Best Actress with Hung Yi?  He said that it would depend on the audience's preference.  Would they wed if they both won?  Bosco said that for now they have no such plan.

Tsui Tsz Shan was very happy to have scenes with Ng Chun Yu, from whom she could take the chance to learn from.  He also gave her a lot of suggestions.  Tsz Shan with LIVES OF OMISSION was nominated for Best Actress.  She said that her work opportunities would increase as would the money making opportunities.  Reportedly TVB asked Ng Chun Yu to make the sequel to TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES (CHUNG SEUNG WON SIU) but Chun Yu said that nothing has been confirmed.

[2011.10.30] MICHAEL TSE'S CONFIDENCE RISES FROM PLAYING LAUGHING ANNUALLY

The Michael Tse Tin Wa, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Bosco Wong Chung Chak starred television series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK) had both good word of mouth and rating.  The production team decided to make a film version TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN).  The story would be about Laughing Gor in prison and add new actors like Francis Ng Chun Yu, Chapman To Man Jat, Wai Ying Hung and Janice Man Wing Shan.  Hopefully it will be a box office hit like TURNING POINT (LAUGHING GOR ji Bin Jit) two years ago.

Tse Tin Wa who had to play the character Laughing every year was the favorite to win this year's television Best Actor.  He admitted that his confidence rose.  He said, "This year's performance indeed has been better than previous years, my confidence has been risen as well.  Finally I have a respectable report card to show everyone, but I don't know how to calculate my chances.  As long as the response to the character and the series is great then it's fine."  Tin Wa said that the film story will begin when the television series ended.  Laughing after going to prison met Ng Chun Yu, To Man Jat and others.  He said, "Ultimately the story is complicated.  Chun Yu will play a highly intelligent criminal, I will have many scenes with him."  As for co-star Fala Chen not taking part, Tin Wa admitted it was regrettable.  He said, "Fala's character has already ended, Madame Jo is a character who everyone likes.  Unfortunately she has no way to develop with the story."

Because the Fala Chen played Madame Jo has already passed, the film daringly cast the current Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu who has no acting experience at all.  She admitted that she had to shoulder a lot of pressure and would give her all while hoping to learn from the elders.  Was she afraid that bad takes would affect the progress?  She said, "I would try to rehearse more and hope everyone would understand.  I too
want my first performance to be good."  Rebecca Zhu said that when she received the notice that she would participate in the film, she was particularly excited and pleased.  Would she have any intimate scene with Chun Yu or Tse Tin Wa?  She said that would depend on the script and asked everyone to keep their eyes peeled.  Ng Chun Yu said that he got a raise.  He joked, "Doesn't everyone see the five dollar coin that we are holding?  We really got a raise, Ms. Lok (Elaine Lok Yi Ling) is very generous.  The increase percentage is very high."  After two years ago leading new comer Fala Chen in TURNING POINT, this year Chun Yu also will lead Rebecca Zhu.  Was leading new comers more difficult for him on the set?  He said, "Passing it on from generation to generation, I help when I can.  Everyone has been a new comer one time or another, when I am free I would chat with her more."

[2011.10.13] LAUGHING HAS NO SAY ON WHO WILL BE HIS WIFE

courtesy of takungpao.com

May Fung Mei Kei and Margie Tsang Wa Sin's program taped yesterday in Happy Valley.  This episode's guests included Michael Tse Tin Wa.  Coincidentally Sister May was responsible for both Tsang Wa Sin and Laughing's first TVB contract.  They have known each other for years.  Laughing will work on the LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK) film version TURNING POINT EXTREME (CHIM JUI FAN).  Earlier he posted a poster online, but yesterday he said that the poster was not real.  The film however indeed will have Lam Suet, Wai Ying Hung, Lau Siu Ming and Francis Ng Chun Yu.  Some claimed that "Counterfeit Fala Chen" Rebecca Zhu will play Laughing Soh in replace of Fala Chen.  He said that earlier during costume fitting he did not see her.  He believed that many characters have not been decided and were very mysterious.

Who would he like to be the lead actress?  He joked that how could he be in charge, the film team will decide.  He joked that he did not understand why the female lead had to die every time.  He hoped that this time she would not.  How did he see Laughing's death?  He admitted that he did not want the character to be too worn out, he should stop while he was ahead.  He also did not want the audience to get tired, ultimately he could not go on forever and it had to come to an end.

[2011.10.08] REBECCA ZHU LANDS LEAD IN NEW FILM WITH RESEMBLAcourNCE

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Michael Tse Tin Wa and Bosco Wong Chung Chak starred TVB series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK) had the highest average rating so far this year.  The film version TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) will soon begin production with the original team as well as Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu (Chu Sun Lai) in the female lead.  Francis Ng Chun Yu has been confirmed to play another villain in the film.

Reportedly the film will officially begin production on the 20th.  Tin Wa earlier has worked on the film poster.  Most of the LIVES actors like Wong Chung Chak, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, MC Jin will participate.  Fala Chen due to her character will not take part.  TVB arranged for Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu who resembles Fala Chen to perform.  In the film she will have many scenes with Tin Wai, even more than guest stars Wong Chung Chak and Tsz Shan.  Rebecca Zhu earlier attended a costume fitting for the film.

[2011.08.03] KIM HEE-SUN COMPLAINS ABOUT SUN HONGLEI

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

In THE WARRING STATE (JIN GOK) Francis Ng Chun Yu and Sun Honglei played two major historical characters Pang Juan and Sun Bin. The female leads were top Korean beauty Kim Hee-Sun and Little Princess of Asia Jing Tian. The film was Kim Hee-Sun's first film after becoming a mother. Thus during the shoot, she often shared her sweet married life with the team and even showed off her daughter's baby photos. She said, "Shooting in China feels too free and too comfortable because all the chores at home are left with my husband. However I still miss my beloved daughter every moment, I even worried that Hubby would forget to feed and change her."

Kim Hee-Sun also said that during THE WARRING STATE, the team treated her very well as she was often invited to drink and sing with them to relieve stress. However she complained that every time Sun Honglei sang he asked to sing THE MYTH (SUN WA) theme song with her, so he could sing Jackie Chan's part and feel like a singer.

Sun Honglei revealed that during the shoot he suffered on and off screen because in the film he suffered Ng Chun Yu's cruel torture and off camera they shot near the border everyday. The shoot was so tough that he finally had kidney stone. Completely helpless, he could only take time off to go to the hospital for treatment. In addition he also had to tolerate a procedure that was as painful as having a child before he was able to continue with the shoot.

On the 15th, Francis Ng Chun Yu and the costume war strategy film WARRING STATES (JIN GOK) actress Jing Tian, Sun Hao, and director Jin Chen appeared in a Xian fan meeting, one of six that day. Ng Chun Yu looked somewhat tired. Returning home, Jing Tian and Sun Hao greeted the passionate fans in Xian dialect. Ng Chun Yu also introduced himself in the Xian dialect. "Xian fans, how are you. I am Ng Chun Yu." Although he still had a heavy Hong Kong accent, he gave fans an enormous surprise. Xian girl Jing Tian told fans that Sun Honglei and Ng Chun Yu privately were very fun people. During the shoot they were like children and particularly loved to joke around. Ng Chun Yu turned around and stared at Sun Honglei's poster. "Sun Honglei is a child at heart, I really am a child. I am just older, I can be considered a 'old boy'."

[2011.03.05] XIA YU LOVES CHARLIE YEUNG LIKE AN IDIOT

courtesy of takungpao.com

Xia Yu and Charlie Yeung Choi Nei starred in WIND BLAST, in which Xia Yu fell for the boss lady Yeung Choi Nei. She even half jokingly said, "Prove your love with money." Xia Yu thus went to fight underground, become a killer, and loved her like an idiot. With this dummy, Yeung Choi Nei used her relationship to send him from the South to the North, from the East to the West as they hid in the desert North.

This case fell into the hands of the four great constables, but when Xia Yu came to Hong Kong for a hit he took a photo of the client. The client hired a hit man Francis Ng Chun Yu to infiltrate the desert area, capture Xia Yu and destroy the evidence. Ng Chun Yu was an experienced hit man who was cold and cruel. This Mainland trip was his last job as he intended to retire. The desert area was wide and the condition was poor. The four great constables with their experience very quickly caught Xia Yu and Yeung Choi Nei. On their way back they ran into the hit man's well planned assault......good and evil clashed, on one side was the desert most basic will to survive and experience and on the other was a professional killer with high tech weapons. Director Gao Qunshu said, "At the time I wanted to make a Chinese RAMBO, a movie with a variety of physical fights."

[2010.11.03] WU JING HOPES WIND BLAST TO BREAK 250 MILLION

courtesy of takungpao.com

THE MESSAGE director Gao Qunshu's new film WIND BLAST has already been released in the Mainland. The film's key actors Wu Jing, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Xia Yu, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and others lately have been busy promoting in major cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Everyone had high expectation for the film and hoped that the box office could break 250 million.

The film was a police action film, thus all the actors had to show their "tough guy" colors. Playing one of the four great cops in the film, Wu Jing revealed that the film mainly shot on location in Dunhuang. However due to the sand storms and temperature difference, the cast had to wear heavy clothing for the shoot. The heavy clothing made fighting more difficult. He even had several car chases that he personally performed, as he had to drive and chase on the desert. he has never tried a scene like that before. Although it was difficult it was worth the effort. The entire film worked very hard because everyone had high hopes for the film.

The Kam Kwok Leung directed film YIT OI DOH (HOT LOVE ISLAND) yesterday started production. Actors Simon Yam Tat Wa , Joan Chen, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Chang Chen, Xiao Song Jia, and Janice Man Wing Shan attended. The actors cut a roast pig together to pray for a smooth production. Earlier the film reportedly approached Sandra Ng Kwan Yu with its female lead. Later Ng Kwan Yu was rumored to resign due to pregnancy and Carina Lau Ka Ling was rumored to take over. Now the female lead went to Joan Chen.

Yam Tat Wa in the film played a couple with Joan Chen. They went from dating, marriage, divorce to reunion as their relationship grew complicated. Would they have any intimate scene? Yam Tat Wa joked that it would be crazy intimate. Joan Chen said that she did not know and wait until later and see. Was she willing to be intimate with a hunk like Yam Tat Wa? She joked, "I can't wait." Then she praised Yam Tat Wa as happy, lovable and professional. With him on the set the atmosphere would be very pleasant.

As for the actress carousel that ended up with Joan Chen, Yam Tat Wa had no idea and only said that good productions often would be like that. He was already very happy to be able to work with his idol. Was this Brother Wa's first collaboration with Joan Chen? He said yes and that he admired her very much, in particular her acting. Joan Chen said that she had no idea how many people were approached. Earlier Willie Chan Chi Keung asked her for help and said that the actress was pregnant. She would help as long as she was able to. As for when she was asked, she said it was a long time ago and could not remember.

Speaking of two other actresses before her, Joan Chen did not mind because this situation often occurred in film. She too has quitted roles that needed to others to fill in. She said, "I like Hong Kong very much, I haven't made a Hong Kong film in a long time." Yam Tat Wa and Ng Kwan Yu's ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU) was selected to represent Hong Kong to compete for this year's Best Foreign Film Oscar. Joan Chen immediately congratulated Yam Tat Wa, who said, "I took hope this film will have a chance (at the nomination) later." Yesterday the production start ceremony was delayed. Other actors Ng Chun Yu, Chang Chen after the worship ceremony went to the set without any interview.

[2009.05.28] ALL STAR SUPPORT FOR MICHAEL TSE

Shaw's first film return to the film industry TURNING POINT (LAUGHING GOR ji BIN JIT) held a production start ceremony at Television City yesterday. Laughing Gor Michael Tse Tin Wa along with other actors Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Lai Yiu Cheung, Tracy Ip Chui Chui, Felix Wong Yat Wa, Matthew Ko Kwan Yin, Benjamin Yuen Wai Ho, Kenny Wong Tak Bun and Johnson Lee Si Jit attended. Director Herman Yau Lai To, producer Leung Ka Shu, TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling and Shaw production director Wong Ka Hei were present as well. However, at the production start ceremony, Laughing Gor Tin Wa did not steal the show from two Best Actors Wong Chau Sun and Ng Chun Yu as they showed off their chests. One even wore eye make up.

Yesterday rain kept falling until the production start ceremony. Laughing Gor Tin Wa screamed it was lucky. In the film he would be undercover in the mob for nine years. Wong Chau Sun and Ng Chun Yu were mob leaders while Eric Tsang Chi Wai would play the boss. Tin Wa's superior officer would be Yuen Biao while Wong Yat Wa would play a senior inspector. "Chai Gau" Lai Yiu Cheung expressed that he only received the notice last week and would play an inspector.

As for Laughing Gor's girlfriend, Tse Tin Wa expressed that the role has not been confirmed. Lok Yi Ling expressed that it would be confirmed shortly. She felt that most importantly the choice had to be fresh, pretty and a good actress. She hoped she would be one of TVB's own. Tin Wa pointed out that the company approached so many Best Actors to participate, he was very happy to have this opportunity to learn. He also thanked Chi Wai for guest starring. As for exceeding budget, he expressed that he would have to ask the company. He believed that the Best Actors of course would have a draw. He did not know about his salary yet but believed that it would not be less than the series. He felt thatthe opportunity was more important than money. In addition this film would be Shaw's first shot, which not every actor would be able to run into.

Chau Sun's costume yesterday was very sharp, especially his black eye shadow. Chau Sun pointed out that in the film he would be the underworld's Wai Siu Bo with six or seven girlfriends, one of whom would be Yip Chui Chui. Yesterday Chui Chui expressed that she would not mind any intimate scene. She joked that she only said that because he was a professional actor, but she probably would not have any intimate scene. Chui Chui said that Chau Sun was a Heavenly King so even intimate scenes she would not mind. Yet in front of two Best Actors she was very nervous. She would like the most for Chau Sun to "criticize" her more, which was like putting money in her pocket. Chun Yu expressed that his role could be lacking but the salary must be fully paid because now he has a son to raise. As for the all star support cast for Laughing Gor, Chun Yu said that was good and hoped that no one would be in a mood to take fun of it.
