[2011.11.10] JUNO MAK GETS SICK FROM BATTLE SCENE SMOKE

The Hong Kong Asian Film Festival 2011 two nights ago held a closing ceremony in Central IFC.  The new film LET'S GO (PO WAI JIN DUI ji CHOOK DUNG LA!  PUNG YAU!) was the closing film.  This Hong Kong Asian Film Festival ambassador Juno Mak Chun Lung along with the actors in the film Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Pat Ha Man Jik, Jimmy Wang Yu, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Gary Chaw (Cho Gat) and Wen Chao attended.

Mak Chun Lung said that last year with the film REVENGE: A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH ji SEI) he went to many nations' film festivals.  This year with LET'S GO as the 2011 Hong Kong Asian Film Festival closing film, he felt very honored.  Mak Chun Lung said after watching LET'S GO he felt very satisfied.  This film actually was a salute to the late Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing.  Mak Chung Lung said, "This film's cartoon version theme song was the Cheung Kwok Wing performed SPACE GOD EMPEROR SIGMA, which is a salute to him."  Mak Chun Lung revealed that in order to make this new film he worked on an indoor battle scene for over ten days.  He spent all day in smoke for the shoot.  Finally he, the director, Cho Gat and others were sick from the smoke.  However they were able to successfully complete the shoot.

Tang Lai Yun and Mak Chun Lung played a couple, but they did not have any rumor before and after the shoot.  Tang Lai Yun said, "Luckily we were not linked in rumors.  In the past whenever I made new films I had rumors.  This time we in the film did not have any kiss or intimate scene."  Tang Lai Yun revealed that in the film had fight scenes with Lam Ka Tung.  She even made up her own new style.

Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Juno Mak Chun Lung, Joey Yung Cho Yi and Wyman Wong Wai Man yesterday attended STYLE LEGENDS fifth anniversary event.  Juno earlier won a Best Actor award in Korea with REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI).  The film company recently applied to participate in film festivals in India, Germany, Sweden and France.  Due to his film production though he would unlikely attend the India Film Festival in November.

Juno Mak Chun Lung with REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FUK SAU JEH JI SEI) at the 15th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival won the Best Actor award. Director Wong Ching Po also at the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival won Best Director. The film company yesterday held a celebration for them. Willie Chan Chi Keung, Stanley Kwan Kam Peng, and executive producers Josie Ho Chiu Yi and Chan Chi Chung attended.

Juno honestly said that he was very happy about his first film award. He said that at the time because he did not understand Korean and his near sightedness kept him from reading the English subtitles. He only learned that he won when the director screamed. He said, "I never thought about winning because the competition was very strong. At that moment I didn't know how to react. The funniest part was, after I gave my speech in Mandarin I realized that they didn't have a Mandarin translator. Later I gave it again in English, it was like winning twice." Juno also thanked his god father Chan Chi Keung and Chiu Yi. Because of REVENGE's daring subject, finding an investor was difficult. Luckily Chiu Yi agreed after reading the script. Would Juno get a raise after winning Best Actor? He said that was up to his god father. Chan Chi Keung felt that Juno should widen his range right now and could think about salaries later. Juno would like to develop a film career with his god father's experience, he would also like to direct if the opportunity would present itself. Has he shared the news with his father? He said, "I look forward to showing the award to my family! My parents and my brother are very happy too!"

Ho Chiu Yi felt elated from the film's overseas successes. Because award winners have always been major feature films, she did not expect that a horror film would win. She praised the jury and even Juno for a performance that was a pleasant surprise to her. Unfortunately he was not nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award for Best New Actor. She said, "Maybe the genre made his nomination impossible, luckily he won overseas." Will Chiu Yi still mainly make bloody and violent films? She said that the theme would "explosive" and extreme. With the success of this film, Chiu Yi said that she has not have the time to tell her father yet. In addition Chan Chi Keung announced that the new direction of the film company that he and Juno founded, including the already completed Juno, Pat Ha Man Jik, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Jimmy Wang Yu, Gary Chaw (Cho Gat) starred new film LET'S GO (BO WAI JIN DUI ji CHOOK DUNG LA! PUNG YAU!), the next film will be a collaboration with Kwan Kam Peng.

The Juno Mak Chun Lung starred REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FUK SAU JEH JI SEI) was the only Hong Kong film to compete in the 15th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, at which he won the Best Actor award. Juno said that the ceremony took place in Korean and he did not wear any glasses, so he could not see the screen clearly. When the event announced Best Actor, he was not certain whether he won; after director Wong Ching Po and lead actress Sora Aoi reminded him, he was certain.

When Juno accepted the award and gave his speech in Putonghua, the event did not have any Putonghua translator. He could only give the speech again in English. Juno after winning his first film award went to a barbecue shop to celebrate. Juno drank soft drink instead of alcohol to thank everyone for their congratulations.

The Juno Mak Chun Lun, Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FUK SAU JEH JI SEI) participated in the 15th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival as the only Hong Kong film in this year's competition. Earlier Juno, Sora Aoi and director Wong Ching Po arrived in Puchon, Korea to attend the event.

At the film screening, Sora Aoi appeared in a sexy white dress and looked like a sexy goddess. A viewer said to Sora Aoi that he grew up with her adult videos and said to her in Japanese, "I love you", which cracked up everyone. When asked whether she would like to continue to work in film, Sora Aoi said that she would. She also made a heart shaped gesture and responded in Japanese "I love you". A viewer asked whether Sora Aoi liked Juno or Director Wong Ching Po more. Sora Aoi said that the choice was hard, as one made her look very pretty and she had a lot of chemistry with the other with working together. Ultimately the collaboration was pleasant. A viewer asked how old Juno was, Juno awkwardly answered 27. The viewer thought Juno's character in the film was younger than his actual age. When the film ended the viewer reaction was overwhelming, the endless applause made Juno, Sora Aoi and the director very excited. At the end of the show, viewers asked them for autographs and photos and they did not turn anyone away.

The Juno Mak Chun Lung and Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOK SAU JEH JI SEI) earlier won an award at the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival. Director Wong Ching Po was the first Hong Kong director win its Best Director award. Recently REVENGE A LOVE STORY qualified for the 15th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival and the only Hong Kong film to be in competition. Juno and Wong Ching Po were very honored and excited. Juno and Wong Ching Po would head to Korea on early Thursday morning to attend the film festival.

Actress Sora Aoi would attend as well. She is rather popular in Korea. Upon arrival they would attend a screening and Juno, Sora Aoi and the director would be in contact with the audience. The award ceremony will take place on Friday the 22nd. Juno and Sora Aoi paid a lot of attention to this film festival award ceremony. Being departing they already communicated with each other on what they would wear. In addition Juno, Wong Ching Po and Sora Aoi have not seen each other in a long time and have made plans to meet for dinner.

Juno felt very honored to take part in the film on and off screen. The good performance of the film was the result of hard work of the team. He rather enjoyed the team effort of film production. For good results the team would work night and day. The team work environment
provided more momentum at work.

Hong Kong director Wong Ching Po with the Juno Mak Chun Lung, Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOK SAU JEH JI SEI) won the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival Best Director award. The film also received a diploma from Russian film critics earlier.

The 33rd Moscow International Film Festival award ceremony took place two days ago. Juno and director Wong Ching Po walked the red carpet. When Wong Ching Po was announced as the Best Director winner, the team broke out in tears of joy. The REVENGE A LOVE STORY Hong Kong team was also rather excited to receive the news and called to congratulate him.

REVENGE A LOVE STORY was the only Hong Kong film in competition at the Moscow International Film Festival and this time it returned home with a full load. Aside from two film awards, it also received the appreciation and high praises of Hong Kong film from film professionals around the world.

Earlier, a Russian director asked Juno to create a story and write a script for his movie, which Juno appreciated very much as it strengthened his confidence in working in film. Juno was also excited for Wong Ching Po's award, which he wrote online made him feel very proud. Juno participated in REVENGE A LOVE STORY story creation so it was very meaningful to him. He also thanked everyone for their support and encouragement. Whether he won an award or not he already felt touched.

The Juno Mak Chun Lung, Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOK SAU JEH JI SEI) competed in the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival. Juno and director Wong Ching Po attended the award activities. After interviews with different media outlets and a major press conference on the first day, on the second day they attended the public screening of REVENGE A LOVE STORY.

Although the film festival has not officially announced the winners, the team in Moscow brought good news as REVENGE A LOVE STORY would receive a media judged prize with a Holland film. The media's high appreciation surprised them and added to their confidence. They would personally accept this award.

Two days ago, the REVENGE A LOVE STORY screening was held. The cinema was sold out. Juno and the director both attended their first overseas screening and gave their first speech. In front of the foreign audience they seemed somewhat nervous. They watched the film with the audience until the end. Aside from close contact with viewers, they were able to experience the response of a different language audience. The audience enthusiastically applauded for eight minutes from Juno's death to the appearance of female lead Sora Aoi. The applause brought tears to Juno's eyes as he bowed to the audience in appreciation.

After the screening, the audience gave the film high praises as they talked toward Juno and the director and compliment them on making a film with an unique subject and sincerity. They not only asked Juno and the director for photos and autographs, but also talked about the film with the assistance of the translator as if they were in a small film discussion. A film professional asked Juno to write a script for him and an U.S. detective film festival invited them to compete.

The Juno Mak Chun Lung and Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI) competed in the 33rd Moscow International Film Festival. Two days ago Juno and director Wong Ching Po flew to Moscow to prepare for tonight's award ceremony.

The event took great care of them this time. Aside from preparing a translator they even provided transportation. After arriving at the hotel to wash up, that night they visited nearby before the press conference to experience Moscow. Juno who loved photography did not forget to take photos and was rather interested in unique Moscow buildings and local street performers. He said, "Before coming to Moscow I heard the people of Moscow were cool, but I thought they were very friendly."

Juno and the director then attended a press conference. The local media thought this type of bloody and violent romantic subject was very rare in Hong Kong. One of the jury members Dr. Hans-Joachim was a Germany Film Festival jury member, rather appreciated the film and asked Juno to send the film to compete in Germany.

Juno at the end of the month will attend with director Wong Ching Po. Although he has not decided on what to wear, he joked that he already has reminded Wong Ching Po to "dress up". Gary Chaw (Cho Gat) recently has been busy recording his latest record and rehearsing for his world tour, but he still made time to come to Hong Kong for the LET'S GO (SIU SEUNG HUP) post production voice work. The film had many action scenes, so Cho Gat had to coordinate with different special effects during voice work. Normally singing was very easy for Cho Gat, but this time providing his voice in front of a screen was very difficult for him. Sometimes due to the sound effects even he moved accordingly, which made him look like an idiot acting with nothing. The crew all cracked up. Cho Gat said that the voice work was even more difficult than the fights in the film. He said that he was still more suitable for stage performance.

On the day of the voice work, Director Wong Ching Po personally supervised. Cho Gat said that before the shoot he saw Wong Ching Po's past work like MOB SISTER (AH SOH), JIANG HU, FU BO and the most recent REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI). Cho Gat honestly said that he admired his unique handling of his film, like the light and dark visual designs. The director's unique views inspired Cho Gat a lot musically.

Wong Ching Po also revealed that his mother was a Cho Gat fan, but last time in Hong Kong she missed Cho Gat's concert. Cho Gat immediately invited the director and Mother Wong to attend his July concert in Malaysia. Wong Ching Po said that his new film might shoot on location in Malaysia. Cho Gat joked that after the concert he could take him around to scout location, maybe he would have a chance to play the lead.

[2010.12.11] JUNO MAK WATCHES A MOVIE WITH FANS

Juno Mak Chun Lung's new film REVENGE: A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI) was not only his first lead role but he also provided the original story. Thus his fans paid a lot of attention to the film. However the film was unable to be released in Mainland. His fans from Guangzhou and Shenzhen earlier formed a group with Hong Kong fans and booked a show to enjoy their idols' new film. Juno also attended after finding out about it to thank them for their support.

Before the screening, fans arranged for a question and answer segment. Some fans were curious whether Juno had any difficulty leaving the character. Juno said that he did not. Because he loved the character too much he did not want to leave at all. Thus everyday after work he
wished for the next day to come sooner. Despite being scarred everywhere he savored every one when he looked at them. Thus people joked that he was deranged and masochistic. Some fans also worried that he would give up his music career and asked when he will release a record. Juno said, "Soon, the new record is almost ready. Hopefully it will be released at the end of December." Later Juno drew winners who received limited edition autographed posters. Because Mainland fans had very little chance to see Juno, after the show they were still reluctant to leave. They stayed and talked to Juno about the story. Many of course asked for
pictures. Juno thanked all the fans for their support and hoped to be able to see them in the Mainland. Finally, they also asked fans to attend a barbecue meeting next year.

Juno Mak Chun Lung and Japanese adult video queen Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI) two nights ago held its premiere, but Sora Aoi cancelled due to illness. Juno could only support the film with the all male team of Chin Siu Ho, Anthony Lau Wing, boss and producer Conroy Chan Chi Chung. Chan Chi Chung represented his wife Josie Ho Chiu Yi who was working on a film in the U.S. presented a card to Juno as encouragement, but when he heard being called the boss he pretended to be mad and said, "Don't call me boss again, I will beat you! Haha!" The host was stunned, later he explained that he had a little to drink.

Two nights ago industry guests included Kelvin Kwan Chor Yiu, Endy Chow Kwok Yin and Grasshoppers' Remus Choi Yat Kit and So Chi Wai. Choi Yat Kit was very passionate and chased Juno with a peck on the cheek. Later Juno joked that he did not mind Choi Yat Kit taking advantage of him. He even said that seeing so many friends who came in support, not to mention one kiss, he could take ten kisses. As for Sora Aoi's earlier online comment that she hated Hong Kong, Juno believed that she was not upset at the film company. However the last time she had to do over a dozen interviews daily and she got sick, indeed it was very tough. He guessed that she was just "relieving stress".

The Juno Mak Chun Lung and Sora Aoi starred film REVENGE: A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI) will soon premiere. Sora Aoi who has been to Hong Kong three times will suddenly be absent! Reportedly when Sora Aoi came to promote in Hong Kong in October she succumbed to the workload and in two short days she had to go to the hospital three times. When she returned to Japan she said that she will be absent from the premiere that she agreed to attend half a month ago.

The film company said, "Sora Aoi indeed attended a lot of events and interviews the last time she was in Hong Kong. (Did she go to the hospital three times?) Yes, but she persisted until the end. She finished all of her jobs then left. We appreciated her very much. (Did the workload scared her away from the Hong Kong premiere?) I can only say, she indeed agreed to attend the premiere half a month ago, but she through her management company called and said that she will not be able to come due to work."

Gigi Leung Wing Kei yesterday attended a UNICEF Halloween event with Juno Mak Chun Lung, Endy Chow Kwok Yin and Shaun Tam Chun Yin as judges for the children costume contest. The event urged children to extend a helping hand to help less fortunate children.

Japanese adult video actress Sora Aoi earlier came to Hong Kong to promote her new film REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI) but unfortunately had to be hospitalized due to illness. Her co-star Juno was very worried. Juno revealed that she had a stomach infection. Perhaps because everyday she worked for 15 hours, the tight schedule caused health issues. However at the end of next month she will return to Hong Kong for the premiere. He has already asked the film company to arrange for more time for her to rest.

The two week long 7th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival opened last night. Both opening films this year were local productions, the Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung and Jimmy Wan Chi Man debut as directors, LOVER'S DISCOURSE (LUEN YUN SHUI YU) and the Juno Mak Chun Lung and Japanese actress Sora Aoi starred REVENGE A LOVE STORY (FOOK SAU JEH JI SEI). LOVER's Kay Tse On Kay and Jacky Heung Jor and Juno and Sora Aoi last night dressed up for the opening ceremony party and added a lot of color to the event.

In the film Heung Jor and Karena Lam Ka Yun played a couple, did he already know about Ka Yun's baby? He said, "Yes! But now isn't the time to bother her!" He said that after working together he and Ka Yun maintained contact. Did he know whether Ka Yun planned to continue to act? He said that he did not ask. When would he be a father? He said that his career did not have any achievement yet, now he had to work hard on his career. His play in July due to good response will return for a December engagement, with a film he for now would not work on any TVB series. Kay wore a low cut pink dress that was compatible to Heung Jor's pink suit. She said that she dressed up out of respect for the event and thought that she was not too sexy.

Juno first congratulated Josie Ho Chiu Yi on her Sitges Film Festival Best Actress award. Lately he and Sora Aoi has been busy with promoting the new film and were together for over ten hours a day. He not only thanked her for her professionalism but also said that they understood each other better. Would his girlfriend be jealous? He confidently said, "She understands that I am working, so she has no problem. In addition when I made this film we weren't dating yet."
Reporters through the translator told Sora Aoi that Juno during the shoot was single. Did she feel she missed out? She jokingly admitted in Japanese that she did and praised that he was good. As for Juno investing in a film for her, he clarified that he has not invested in movies for
her. He only said that if he directed he would ask her to perform. Sora Aoi will leave Hong Kong soon and return in December for the film release.

Juno Mak Chun Lung and Japanese adult video actress Sora Aoi starred in the film REVENGE: A LOVE STORY (FOK SAU JEH JI SEI), which has been given a category III rating due to its blood and violence. Juno's earlier films TRIVIAL MATTER (POR SI YI) and DREAM HOME (WAI DOR LEI AH YUT HO) were both category III films, was he worried about being typecast as a category III star? Juno said, "I am neither resistant nor deliberate about making category III films, as long as I am interested I am fine. However I will stop making category III films for now and drop the category III actor title. In December I will work on a commercial action film, later I will start kung fu training."

Sora Aoi in the film had a rape scene. Although she had to perform in the nude, the story required it so she did not resist. However this scene was very tough to shoot because Sora Aoi had to grind her teeth and remember her rapist's looks. She had a lot of expression and
emotional scenes. She also praised Juno personally was an attentive person. When he learned that she liked eggettes he often bought them for her. They have become good friends due to the production. Would Sora Aoi consider a long distance relationship? She said, "I haven't thought about it yet because I am afraid of cultural differences. If we can understand each other then it's no problem. The love that I want to find in reality is someone who I have mutual respect for and makes me feel secure. Girls like to have someone take care of them, but when something is wrong they have to speak up too."

In the 19 day shoot, the most memorable for Juno was not when he was beaten while Sora Aoi was raped in the next door. He said, "During the shoot I really want to take her away! I concentrate on making the movie and after the shoot I was able to leave it behind. In comparison to the DREAM HOME story, REVENGE is heavier. Yet its selling point isn't blood, I feel this film has a romantic love."

As for his film dream, Juno said that he was working hard on learning different film positions. Starting from actor, producer and music, he would like to have a chance to direct in the future. He said, "If I direct, I won't act on camera. Actually film wise, Pang Ho Cheung has been my benefactor. Now while making films I would learn different film positions while acting. I very much like to be able to make a fresh movie that others haven't seen. I also want to work with Sora Aoi again, I feel she is an actress with a lot of potential. She has already transitioned, she has a lot of possibilities. She should be interesting in a family film as a mother."

Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Juno Mak Chun Lung, Janice Man Wing Shan yesterday attended the Mark Lui Chung Tak designed men's label Coolday, Sir Solo Shop new store opening.

Due to the Daoyutai incident the China Japan relationship has been very tense. Juno worked with Japanese adult video actress Sora Aoi on the film REVENGE: A LOVE STORY (FOK SAU JEH JI SEH), which will soon premiere at the Asian Film Festival. Sora Aoi will come to promote in Hong Kong next week as scheduled. Juno felt that violence could not resolve the issue and felt that art should not be linked with politics. He said, "Sora Aoi put a lot of effort into the film. We can't squander her hard work and can't have any racial divide. (Will you protect her?) I believe we have workers who will. I don't look forward to an extreme action to take place. The Asian Film Festival opening ceremony should take place smoothly under a peaceful atmosphere." Juno was optimistic about the China and Japan relationship. He himself had a fashion business in Japan and at the end of October he will go there for work.

Sora Aoi in the film had to deliver her lines in Cantonese. When she was not in a scene she practiced her Cantonese and memorized her lines, very soon she was able to handle it. Although she and the crew had a language barrier, they had no gap at all as they very quickly functioned
as one.

Mak Chun Lung played a straight laced youth and a couple with the Sora Aoi played innocent girl. They had many romantic scenes. In one scene Mak Chun Lung was released from prison, the pregnant Sora Aoi went to pick him up with mixed emotions. Mak Chun Lung before places sat alone in a corner, closed his eyes to gather his emotions and very soon he was able to become teary eyed. No one dared to disturb him. During the shoot he was able to shed real tears.
